Me too like You have a passion for Green tech and care about the Environment . I run my house , i.e cooking , lights, fridge, PC etc on my 5 kilowatt solar system [ DIY], also i charge my tata tiago ev , my ola S1 pro mostly on my solar system. One thing , i want to point out , is that LFP batteries has a very narrow voltage curve , say between 20% SOC and 90% SOC is just 3.2 volts and 3.35 volts respectively with just a difference of 0 .15 volts , but after 10% the voltage drop drastically to 2.50 volts . So it is not necessary to bring the car to a 10% -20% soc once in a while, like u said, because the software in the bms can bottom balance the battery which is not in the case of top balance, thats why tata in order for the bms to sense or calibrate the voltage of the battery ( top balance) one needs to charge the car to 100% every 7-9 charge cycles or simply put it , once a week.
Thank you for the insight.. nice to know people care for environment.. where are you from.. please ping me on my number and be a part of my WhatsApp groups.. others can benefit from your expertise.
I have a Nexon which dies at 30% SoC still ? What do you suggest to normalise . It is so many times put on 100% and still this unbalance stays constant .TATA bms is doing balancing at top? . Seems not . There is imbalance
@@sony5244 No problem is Tata electrical team. They bought bms from china and without any insight of it. It is not inhouse product. Because the cells are getting top balanced if a user do fast charging frequently it disturb the balance of charging capacities of cells. If it is strong active balancer ,it will equalise it But if it is small current and passive balancer then it will take long time to equalise , but bythe time the difference between cells will keep increasing. This is the basic issue. Tata should display alla cell voltage to the customer and manual initiated cell balancing till balancing 100% completed , battery pack should not be disturbed. That way battery issue can be reduced a lot
Ok thanks, in my area there are frequent short power cuts of 5-10 mins, so while charging the battery if there are 2-3 power cuts in between, do you think it is really a big issue for battery longevity because of which I should not go for EV?
Hello sir, I am looking to buy second hand Nexon ev, I found 2021 xz+ model 46000 km already run @ 10 lakh, after taking to the owner he told me that his car's battery have been replaced last month So I am confused now, should I go for it or looking for another car? Please help me out Thank you
Nice video..informative

@@palanik1960 I guess the problem is with the BMS .

Good question.. you can also try other rehen and see which one give best range.. i use 3 in city
What is the impact on battery charge cycle if there are power cuts while charging at home
No impact on cycle.. but might have impact on cell balancing

I own Mg ZS ev
Welcome to join my Ev group.. my WhatsApp number is in the description
