I liked very much this tutorial. I was just wondering how could we make the spiral in the middle of the cabochon, like the blue one in the middle of the picture.

Hi Ammuajan: You can use round forms like bamboo skewers, nails, knitting needles, pens, etc if you don't have the round pliers. Good luck.

That's nice, of course........ you did it again! Question, I really like using 22 gauge wire, you use a lot of 16. Is there a reason for that? Or does it work best for you? I know, I ask a lot of questions

Thanks Janet: I use 18, and 20g more often. The 16g is good for larger suncatchers and more solid rings. This design requires a thicker wire that will hold it's shape.

22 guage isn't strong enough for single wire designs like this. If you doubled up two pieces of 22 and wove them together then you could use that to wrap in this exact same fashion. That's the only way I could see 22g working here.
Well, mine involved some colorful language and lots of wire in the recycle bin, but I think I pulled it off in the end.
Definitely a tricky design!
