Thanks a million. Great to see the town back then. I was in London from 1967 but visited the family home in Pimperne regularly and always went into Blandford for a stroll around.
Great video, good memory jogger, i was stationed at blandford 1978-80, nice to see the old White Hart Pub, on the right, on the drive into blandford, in those days it was run by a great guy called Jeff, who used to give us drinks on tick, and cash post dated cheques for us poor old bleeps!!
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed the video. I checked out your channel and watched your video. Fantastic! really enjoyed it. It would be great if it had English captions to the words though.
Hey, I moved there from kent in 1979 and moved out to come here in 1991, at first I was a mobile windshield fitter..then milkman then bus driving...still skint tho...I knew the 'case' family in sopetisbury and I worked some time at the manor then owned by the 'Strange' family......well enjoy your weekend
Thanks so much! Well these days I am a Japan nut I guess..but especially i love the music of Ishikawa Sayuri, Nakajima Miyuki and Takahashi Mariko...the feeling is there! How is Blandford today? I used to drive the Wilts and Dorset buses from the Salisbury Road depot...thanks again...in Japanese" itadaki arigatou gozaimashita.
Lots of memorys for me in this video was living there in the late seventys & very early eighties, pretty sure that the woman walking past Badger Autos is my mother Cilla Shearn.
Your welcome What year would that be? I moved to Devon 20 years ago so I haven't seen it since. Though I understand it has changed, try a Google earth on it. I lived in Spetisbury from 1955 to 1960. Moved to Devon, then I went back for 10 years in 1979. Remember the buses as Hants & Dorset.
VHS Video Cameras were only about 2 years old then, technology still had a long way to go. If I filmed this in Cine it would have been perfect quality at a cost of a few hundred pounds. I was using a huge great camera, separate VHS Recorder and battery, weighed a ton, these days you can film on a pocket sized mobile phone.
Check out Hollandtowers on youtube for film of Blandford forum station in the 1960's. Also excellent footage of Shillingston and Bailey Gate available to purchase on DVD in the Golden age of steam. Follow the link from hollandtowers.
It's a shame the picture quality's not a bit better (there must be loads of familiar faces in there somewhere) and that the colour's not more saturated, but this is good stuff again. Thanks for posting.

Hi there, I'm doing an exhibition on how we used to shop for Blandford Forum Town Museum. is there a possibility I could use and reference this video?

What a coincidence about the car. Don't suppose you remember seeing someone with a big camera at the time?
