Is it just me, or does anyone else get the feeling that "Bob" is Jack Chick's idealized self? How he wants to look (tall, dark, "handsome"), be in control of the situation, and easily able to swat aside arguments from those evil witches and evolutionists? A lot of his Christian characters are like this, but Bob seems to be the one he pays the most details to.
Wait if demons were at the crucifixion why didn't they try to stop it? Wouldn't they have seen God's plan to "save" everyone and did everything they could to stop that from happening?
Obviously demons want to see Jesus crucified because then Jesus is dead except then Jesus will be dead and so God wins. Don't try to apply logic to a Chick Tract. They are incompatible. It's like trying to build something out of IKEA furniture pieces and Lego. They don't match.

Hay guys love the show. In the future could you guys do the Chick Tract "Crazy Wolf?" As a person who is mainly NDN in background and knowing a little bit about Native American philosophy, I think this tract is more offensive than just about any of Chick's other works. He obviously did exactly zero research into how NDNs feel about curses, how most live, what religious beliefs they hold, and their feelings toward European style "witchcraft." It would only take you a minimal amount of time to do enough research to rip Jack and new poop hole. You guys could make this so damn funny it would be unreal.

It turns out that the "old macaroni & cheese", "it's been there a while and now it's like mashed potatoes" and the "beef stew" comparisons are so fucking ACCURATE I ended laughing my ass off! Best comparisons I've ever heard! That is exactly how the poop comes out, especially from colostomies (from the colon). Unless it's an ileostomy (from the small intestine), then the comparisons wouldn't work that well.

I used to make a point of grabbing them up wherever I found them and taking them home to throw in the trash or burn. I know this is late to the party. But as a kid my family made me watch the Charlton Heston movie. It was boring as all shit, but they thought it was amazing. Then when Prince of Egypt came out they got mad because it "over dramatised" the story. Making Moses look more human and what. At 19:13, Jack Chick lays out 7 prophecies by Isaiah that he says Jesus was supposed to fulfill. Taking both the gospels and his translations/understanding of the prophecies at face value, Jesus only fulfilled 2 out of 7, which is a hit rate for Isaiah of 28%, barely any better than Gladys. The seven prophecies are: 1) Born of a virgin -- true according to Luke 1:34 2) Called Immanuel -- false; no gospels have that name being used for him; Matthew tries to be like "well, not as a name but as a descriptor, that God is with us", but that's not even used either, no one in the gospels says "Oh hey look everyone, it's God With Us!". 3) Minister to the gentiles -- false; he goes out of his way to not minister to the gentiles, calling them dogs (Matthew 15:26) and destroying their property (Mark 5:13). The only time when he does offer to go out of his way to help a gentile is when Jews go tell him that the gentile is worthy of his help because he's done a lot for the Jewish community and given a lot of money to Jewish causes (Luke 7:3-5). 4) Give sight to the blind--the gospels do have him do this several times. 5) Rejected by his people--false; everywhere he goes, large crowds of people flock to him. The only people who reject him are the authority figures; if anything, this makes him a populist figure who was plotted against by the establishment, which is the opposite of being rejected by the people. 6) At his trial, he will keep silent -- false. Although the four gospels portray him as having differing attitudes and opinions during the trial, they all have him speaking. (Mark 14:61-62, 15:2; Matthew 27:11, Luke 22:66-70, John 19:11--he seems to accuse God of sin in this one). 7) He will be marred more than any other man-- False. All the instruments of torture used on him existed previously and have been used since. The only way this could have been true is if the Romans had built a special torture chamber/tool designed specifically for him, used it, looked at the results and said "wow, holy fuck, guys, I think we've reached the bottom of the cruelty barrel, this is too barbaric even for us, let's dismantle this thing and never use it again." Also, there are a lot of ways to mess up someone's skin that are worse than a whip, crown of thorns, and crucifixion--just off the top of my head, burning, flaying them alive, and pounding a nail into them at 1 cm intervals across their entire skin come to mind. So yeah, 2 out of 7 there for Isaiah, which is 28%, barely any better than Gladys at 20%. Jack Chick should try thinking this through a bit better (fat chance).

The weird looking dog (who is named Fang according to the website but I don't know if this was ever mentioned in the comics) appears in several comics, appart from God and Satan he is possibly the only character you could call "recurrent" in the entirety of Chick Tracts. EDIT: Just remembered that there is a charracter named Lil Susan/Suzan who also appears in mutliple tracks, I have only read two of them, but I also have heard that there are more.
The prophecy that Isaiah gives out being construed to apply to Jesus drives me crazy. For the first thing - He was never called Immanuel! The Christians called him Immanuel _afterwards_, presumably to force him further into the prophecy.
Or maybe Matthew, as a Jewish Israelite living in Ancient Israel in a time and place abuzz with Messianic expectation, honestly thought Jesus was the fulfillment of the Immanuel prophecy? "Immanuel" means "God with us" and the NT writings stress that Jesus is "full God and full man", a God incarnate as a human, as opposed to the popular demigods of the time who were half god and half man hybrid children of gods mating with humans, so people look at this and think this must be what Isaiah was foreseeing.

Perhaps the prophecy of being called "Immanuel" (God with us) is supposed to be a title or description rather than a proper name, and people call Jesus the Earthly human incarnation of God all the time, so prophecy fulfilled? There's a precedent for this in the same culture: "Satan" is more of a title and description than a proper name, and the several seemingly contradictory instances of "Satan" in the Bible are likely multiple different Satans.

So, I'm confused about this one: Isn't it obvious Jesus ISN'T the messiah then? Isaiah 7:14 say the messiah is named "Immanuel".
I mean, that's... that's a pretty clear contradiction.
Other prophecies of Isaiah that are either wrong or haven't happened yet: The destruction of Damascus, The drying up of the Nile, 5 cities in Egypt speaking the caananite language (be pretty tough to happen in the future: it's a dead language now), and No-one will be able to enter Jerusalem without being circumcised.
Also regarding prophesies, let's bring up the favourite one! "the end times"! Which is, yes, prophesied in the Bible. Said by Jesus even! He also it would happen to THAT GENERATION, so... About 2000-ish years too late on that one...

I know this is late to the party. But as a kid my family made me watch the Charlton Heston movie. It was boring as all shit, but they thought it was amazing. Then when Prince of Egypt came out they got mad because it "over dramatised" the story. Making Moses look more human and what. Never mind that DreamWorks made what many people including those who don't believe the Bible, consider it a literal masterpiece! And that even the atheists agree thay it's a top tier movie. That humanizing Moses made it all the much more better!

UPDATE EDIT: Having now seen many a Chick Tract a la TBR, Bob Williams is apparently a "tract regular"--generic white "perfect" (the guys aptly observed, in another video that I can't remember, that protagonists, like Bob Williams, are consistently depicted as able-bodied, male, white, and comparatively attractive/normal/clean looking, for Chick Tract's garbage illustration qualities anyway, while antagonists/atheists/non-Christians are very often depicted as fat, disabled, non-white, and other "off" or "non-normative/orthodox" qualities) Christian.

At 19:13, Jack Chick lays out 7 prophecies by Isaiah that he says Jesus was supposed to fulfill. Taking both the gospels and his translations/understanding of the prophecies at face value, Jesus only fulfilled 2 out of 7, which is a hit rate for Isaiah of 28%, barely any better than Gladys.
The seven prophecies are:
1) Born of a virgin -- true according to Luke 1:34
2) Called Immanuel -- false; no gospels have that name being used for him; Matthew tries to be like "well, not as a name but as a descriptor, that God is with us", but that's not even used either, no one in the gospels says "Oh hey look everyone, it's God With Us!".
3) Minister to the gentiles -- false; he goes out of his way to not minister to the gentiles, calling them dogs (Matthew 15:26) and destroying their property (Mark 5:13). The only time when he does offer to go out of his way to help a gentile is when Jews go tell him that the gentile is worthy of his help because he's done a lot for the Jewish community and given a lot of money to Jewish causes (Luke 7:3-5).
4) Give sight to the blind--the gospels do have him do this several times.
5) Rejected by his people--false; everywhere he goes, large crowds of people flock to him. The only people who reject him are the authority figures; if anything, this makes him a populist figure who was plotted against by the establishment, which is the opposite of being rejected by the people.
6) At his trial, he will keep silent -- false. Although the four gospels portray him as having differing attitudes and opinions during the trial, they all have him speaking. (Mark 14:61-62, 15:2; Matthew 27:11, Luke 22:66-70, John 19:11--he seems to accuse God of sin in this one).
7) He will be marred more than any other man-- False. All the instruments of torture used on him existed previously and have been used since. The only way this could have been true is if the Romans had built a special torture chamber/tool designed specifically for him, used it, looked at the results and said "wow, holy fuck, guys, I think we've reached the bottom of the cruelty barrel, this is too barbaric even for us, let's dismantle this thing and never use it again." Also, there are a lot of ways to mess up someone's skin that are worse than a whip, crown of thorns, and crucifixion--just off the top of my head, burning, flaying them alive, and pounding a nail into them at 1 cm intervals across their entire skin come to mind.
So yeah, 2 out of 7 there for Isaiah, which is 28%, barely any better than Gladys at 20%. Jack Chick should try thinking this through a bit better (fat chance).

The weird looking dog (who is named Fang according to the website but I don't know if this was ever mentioned in the comics) appears in several comics, appart from God and Satan he is possibly the only character you could call "recurrent" in the entirety of Chick Tracts.
EDIT: Just remembered that there is a charracter named Lil Susan/Suzan who also appears in mutliple tracks, I have only read two of them, but I also have heard that there are more.
The prophecy that Isaiah gives out being construed to apply to Jesus drives me crazy. For the first thing - He was never called Immanuel! The Christians called him Immanuel _afterwards_, presumably to force him further into the prophecy.
Or maybe Matthew, as a Jewish Israelite living in Ancient Israel in a time and place abuzz with Messianic expectation, honestly thought Jesus was the fulfillment of the Immanuel prophecy?
"Immanuel" means "God with us" and the NT writings stress that Jesus is "full God and full man", a God incarnate as a human, as opposed to the popular demigods of the time who were half god and half man hybrid children of gods mating with humans, so people look at this and think this must be what Isaiah was foreseeing.

Perhaps the prophecy of being called "Immanuel" (God with us) is supposed to be a title or description rather than a proper name, and people call Jesus the Earthly human incarnation of God all the time, so prophecy fulfilled?
There's a precedent for this in the same culture: "Satan" is more of a title and description than a proper name, and the several seemingly contradictory instances of "Satan" in the Bible are likely multiple different Satans.
