    Hello from the high desert of New Mexico USA 🇺🇸, I just found your channel and I liked and subscribed. I have installed a lot of these heaters for other people and I am now waiting for parts from China so I can install two of these heaters in my 1967 GM TDH-4519 city transit bus. I did notice a few things, those fuel pumps work better pushing than pulling and for second add another piece of exhaust pipe to the end of the muffler to route the exhaust fumes out from under your van. Keep up the good work and stay safe and charged

    Personal i would put some heat proof insulation around them black fuel lines next to the exhaust pipe, other wise it's the same as I did mine on my renault trafic.

  • @pa_maj.MARTINI-van-MAN
    @pa_maj.MARTINI-van-MAN 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Great job 👍 Nice to have some heat.
    Removing the seat every time if/when the heater needs a service or fixed may be a bit of a pain though. It also may have been better to wire the electrics of the heater to the leisure battery in the back preventing the starter battery from draining.
    I leave my heater on all night in winter and those heaters are quite hard on batteries, well, I actually have mine on most of the day too.
    I think to change the thermostatic mode you hold down the two outside arrow buttons for a few seconds but that may depend on the controller, the red light should turn blue. This would probably be different with the digital screen type but in general may work similar.
    👍👍👍

    • @WildAstro
      @WildAstro  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the advice mate. When we install the leisure battery it will definitely be rewired to ensure the main battery doesn't drain. Holding down the arrow buttons is actually the bleed function on this particular controller so do dice there unfortunately. Good to hear from you matey and thanks for watching and commenting. Stay safe!

      @pa_maj.MARTINI-van-MAN 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@WildAstro I have an eberspacher and I'm hoping there's some way of getting it off the thermostatic mode using the arrow buttons. I keep forgetting to try when I'm out in the van ( shopping only at the moment unfortunately ) I don't like the constant erratic behaviour of the fan going, it can never seem to find a happy balance. I'd prefer a low constant setting and open a vent or two to be honest.
      Looking forward to more videos mate. This one reminds me of when I used to grab a little help from my dad, he has so many tools too for any job 😆👍

  • @AshleyJonesFR
    @AshleyJonesFR 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Just been following this to fit mine and come across a few snags. My Renault Trafic is a 2013 (old shape) and where you have fitted the heater, there is a wiring loom following the handbrake wire which was going down the big grommet. This wasnt doing anything on mine so relocated it in to the cab.
    Next was underneath, there's a great big heatshield directly under the heater which is for the main exhaust of the van (yours appears to be missing). Although I've managed to route the heater exhaust through this and follow the same direction as yours.

    • @WildAstro
      @WildAstro  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Glad it was useful for you mate. Possibly just the differences in the models that made the difference to the siting of the various components? Glad you managed to get it sorted pal.

  • @andrewcornford2306
    @andrewcornford2306 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Fitted mine forward of the offside rear wheel within the seat / cupboard I built on that side. The issue you may or may not find if you have an RTC front end your seat may collapse, also you heater fan intake will drawn dust and dirt particles over the heat exchanger. This in turn may block the fins that will make the heater over heat. Never seen any anti rust paint on holes drilled through van, as this is a great wash area from front wheels. The fuel pipe or exhaust under the van needs to be insulated, as if the fuel pipe touches the exhaust you could have a fire, also fuel tank in that looks location in your van is not great, how are you going to fill it without fuel spill. Fuel filter is better inline direct o pump. Sorry Richie but it seems like an accident waiting to happen. Good luck with the rest on the van.

    Hi guys fantastic stuff. I was just wondering when you cut the seat mount, did the heater still come above the frame. reason for asking is I have a captains chair swivel plates on both side as have two single seats? I have noticed that all these Chinese Diesel Heater are the same size.

    • @WildAstro
      @WildAstro  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes mate, not by much but it did. If you have a look at the piece of the sun frame that we cut, it sits about 8-10mm above that level. Don’t know how different the clearance is with your swivel base in but may still fit. I’d be slightly concerned about singed ankles though with the amount of heat it kicks out 🤣

    • @WildAstro
      @WildAstro  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Ash, yes, I would still recommend the heater I have fitted but I would (and will) make one change; take the extra time to T off the diesel return pipe for your fuel supply. Leave the supplied tank out of the equation if you can.

    • @AshleyJonesFR
      @AshleyJonesFR 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@WildAstro Trouble is your burning white diesel then which is a lot more expensive than red or kerosene.
      You say T-off the diesel return pipe, wouldn't this only use the fuel in the return pipe and not draw it from the main tank of the van as I would assume the fuel return hasn't got a pick up in the tank?
      Also what size heater did you fit under the seat, 5kw? Thanks.
