Yes it’s a soft wood, fir is what I had access to. As long as you test before and after in the same wood it will give you a pretty good idea of any improvements.
When you take off the front cover of the muffler you will see that the is a baffle that is deflecting the exhaust but is also restricting it. The older 066 was even worse with restrictions. On the intake side when you remove the air filter there is a plastic piece that is restricting airflow into the carburetor that can be removed super easily. Then just did the relearning process for the autotune carburetor and that was it. 👍😁
Just the spitback baffle? I debated removing mine but with the textile filters I didnt know if it would cause quicker clogs. 2/3 echo saws worked great but one saw spits back bad afterwards and it's hard to keep the filter clean with that one.
Yes that round plastic baffle that just clips on is all I removed. Since I did zero port work I really did not see a good point to keeping that on the saw and it is restricting air flow. Sorry I should have taken same pictures of that before sending it back to the owner. On the muffler side I even cut that shielding baffle out that is inside coming right off exhaust port. It’s a little better than the previous 660 muffler but still interrupting flow coming out. Then go through a e-carb resetting process and you should be good to go. It was pretty nice to see how much this simple mod helped the 661 out 😉👍
Looks and sounds great. Cuts fast! Will it tie my boots!
😂 not tell they make an AI saw 😂
Great job
Thank you and sometime it does not take much to get improvements 😉
That wood looks soft though.

I like ❤❤❤
Thank you 🙂
@@sunbear1973 you're welcome
Wow, great chainsaw, but what are the baffles, are they easy to remove?
