They had a female director this episode who has only directed this one episode in the entire season, they need to bring her back for season 2. The camera work with the Viserys scene in courtroom was fire.

Corlys who is the Actual lord supported Lucerys as his heir. Laenor supported him as his heir. The King supported Luke as heir of Drifmark. Rhaenys did too. Anyone else opinion is irrelevant.
@Ali Chaudhry Vaemond just want to hold himself to power. Regardless of blood, Lucerys have the moral heart that make him way better than Vaemond. If Driftmark wouldn't go to Luke, i'd bet Corlys would prefer 1000 % more that Baela have it than his brother.
@Ali Chaudhry btw, before that section, Rhaenyra showed her plan to mary Rhaena to Luke, so the blood would still be there regardless. Vaemond didn't care. Why? Because he wants HIMSELF with the Power. And he doesn't swalled the fact is Luke the one, even though more important people than him didn't care. Moreover, the Velaryon house have others. Luke being the heir doesn't erased them.

although people said he was weak. He was a good king and a good man in my opinion who loves his family and peace in the kingdom. There is much more power in remaining good when you are surrounded by cruelty. He was great in this episode, respect to the actor.

It's very poetic the seemingly 'fake' emotions at this dinner was actually the most authentic we've ever seen them. It was the only time they were NOT putting on their masks. It shows without the line of succession and primogeniture and all the other royal madness mirroring what existed in medieval Europe, these people could've been really good friends. But the system they lived in destined them to murder each other. It's like being born into rival blocks in southside chicago. You don't have a choice. The dinner sequence makes for so much regret and despair cause it was a tiny window to what could've been. They all knew it was the last moments of solitude, but at the same time they probably did delude themselves into thinking "maybe, just maybe things will work out". They’re all unwitting participants in a tragic theater that’s about to unfold.

That dinner scene is a masterclass of building trepidation thru melancholy.Viserys seeing the kids in a last dance before the Dance. Fleeting moments of bliss before they're all swept away by the flood. Everyone hoping for the best, expecting the worst. For something so uneventfully peaceful, the passing was one of the most foreboding & viscerally filmed deaths I've seen. Book Viserys doses off to the great beyond in his bed, after telling stories to grandkids. The king who was most unlike Aegon the Conqueror in life ends up being most like the Conqueror in death.
Ok enough jokes. Now the serious parts. "You're no son of mine" - Alicent getting crossbowed in the loo on mother's day confirmed lol. Ep 9 is The Green Council😱!! Cue the Hoes Mad beat😤!! Our religion, tradition & patriarchy upholder Queen Mother & our redpiled Homelander King will make Westeros great again🙃/s
Okay KODEEEE we got it bro let the pack enjoy them feels. That was by far the best scene of the season. I felt them old game of thrones stuff in it. Props to the actor and director!

Viserys knew having a male son after stubbornly naming his daughter heir would create a impossible situation. He knew his favoritism towards his daughter would fester resentment on the other side of his family. He won his own crown that way. He and Daemon were preparing for a civil war as the other claimant Rhaenys was a female. Viserys himself was "elected" king over a female, so he's hypocritical. Seems like ppl can't compartmentalize between "loving father" (to one child) from "terrible king who made one bad decision after another". Viserys was the definition of Nero playing with his Lego set while Rome burned. Meanwhile, gas light girlboss Rhae Rhae dragged a lepered corpse out just to have the rightful heir to Driftmark executed. Big "Dad. Listen to me. You NEED to sign off these documents in my name RIGHT NOW" hospice bedside energy.

All we asking is for a compact video of the whole reaction just like how all other reaction channels be doing. Yeah I agree. I have seen other channels that provide both full reaction videos and release the compilation ones a week or two early on Patreon, but to only give half a reaction and nothing else on YT just makes this an advertisement for Patreon. It's a shame cause I always enjoyed Jody's reactions.

Since I dont see anyone else telling yall in the comments,,, before he dies, he thinks thats Rhaenyra he's talking to. When he's talking about the prince that was promised, he is talking about that prophesy from Game of Thrones, Jon Snow. He told Rhaenyra about it when he first named her heir, that is a secret passed down thru the heirs. That Aegon the Conqueror had a vision that the Targaryens must stay in power becuz the prince would come thru their line and he will defeat the enemy in the long night (the white walkers). But when he's saying this to Allicent he is delirious thinking its Rhaenyra. Allicent thinks he is referring to their weirdo son Aegon and that SHE must make it happen, she thinks he's saying that weirdo is the prince that was promised, SMHHHHHHHHHHHH

So when Viserys brings up a dream, and Aegon, Alicent’s mind jumps to episode 3.
