Love Nick's solar powered gingerbread house, your 5th AND 50th bday card, as well as those lovely treasures from when the kids were small. How sweet!!!
Thank you once again Caroline, naps are the greatest. I am really enjoying your daily videos and Nicolas is a lovely young man. Hope you had a peaceful day with your family.🎄
Facebook showed me a memory this morning and it was the pattern from last year with the date on it. We did the date on the 5th day or so last time. And not only a diplomat but an architect. My architect would love the Kit Kat solar panel! 👏👏Gteat memories! Loving the way the pattern is unfolding!!!
Just letting you know…lol…even though I’m not doing the Christmas stitch-a-long, I watch these as well because I enjoy your work and personal tidbits lolol ❣️ ❣️
Sooo wonderful to see your video first of all this morning! A delightful way to start the day at 7:30 here in North Carolina!🥰 You captured my sentimental feelings as I too have a wonderful daughter and son…Jenny and Scott…who are are treasured as your dear ones. They are much older than your Sarah and Nicholas however…time goes so fast! We have a wonderful relationship, they are the very best of friends and it is always a joy to see them! I keep all their handmade cards! I really love this year’s Christmas chart. I did the stitchalong two years ago with the band sampler…wish I had participated this year! Thanks for providing a delightful season for us! See you tomorrow! 🥰🎄
Beautiful video Caroline, love seeing Roxy smile first thing 🐾♥️ Memory Lane was spectacular, thank you for sharing certainly brought back my own memories…..😘🤗
The other day I was going though long stored away items and found cards from my childhood. Cards from the late 40's to early 50's , Valentines, Christmas and Birthday cards saved by my mother. I especially loved seeing my grandparents and great-grandparents signatures. It makes one stop and reflect. Thanks for sharing your Mum's treasures.
I missed those two stitches, too😩 It’s definitely going to take a village on this one! I have some birthday cards from when I was a kid. They’re so cute. It’s hard to let some of that ephemera go. Roxy is adorable❤️
I see your Mother is one of the original recyclers . My mom was too. I came across a box of hers (she passed in 1996 (at age 80)) a few years ago. Mom always insisted you keep things at least 7 years before tossing. Well in that box was every little piece of lace or trim she kept from all her clothes, esp slips & nightgowns. The box was overflowing & I have used some pieces, but when I gave the box to my best friend, who makes cards & does junk journal-ing, I truly knew the gift of giving by her reaction. Take care & happy stitching.
I always love a good gift "recipient" - don't you? I think that we get even more pleasure out of pleasing and surprising someone, it's lovely. Thank you for sharing your story with me :-)
Happy Vlogmas! Your birthday card was so lovely and I think you must be right about Christmas making us more sentimental - for some reason the fact that you were 5 and my daughter turns 5 this year and one day she’ll be grown - I just started crying. 😂 That is so lovely that she saved that card and gave it to you again for your 50th. So special. ❤️ Thanks for sharing that with us.
Always around this time of year we seem to reflect back and memories seem to come forth...how sweet your Birthday card is and a real treasure for sure. I think Jacob is playing tricky with our daily stitching and bet he is enjoying our "stitch search" on our pieces. Enjoying this years Countdown very much...thank you for making it a group stitch!!
Thank you for sharing your birthday card. I save many cards from relatives, I love their hand writing. 25 years ago I decided to make Nordic folded paper wreaths with my kids and nieces. I knew how to make them just reading the instructions once, I thought how do I know this technique? I asked my mom, she did not know it. I was cleaning out some craft supplies while looking for my glue gun and found a paper wreath tucked in a box, it had a picture of me and my grandmother together making the folded wreaths. She became ill with Alzheimer’s when I was 9 and died just before my 10th birthday. I treasure that wreath and the ones I made with my kids and nieces.
This touched me so much, you can’t even know. I hope you don’t mind but I shared your story in the filming that I’m doing for tomorrow mornings video - it’s such a treasure, thank you.
Love the birthday card your mom saved. When I moved I found a project Amanda did in preschool of her handprints using a dish soap bottle. Seeing their tiny hands bring a smile every time especially now they’re in their thirties. Thanks for the shepherds pie recipe. I look forward to trying it soon.
Love the trip down memory lane. Reminded me that I have cards that my mother saved from when I was born from my grandparents. So they are 76 years old.
Thank you kindly for the Shepherds Pie recipe. My mom made this all the time.. Great memory from long ago. She passed December 13th, 2000. So it was great this recipe came up. Thank you. I'm so enjoying the flossmas
You will be laughing but my daughter is like your mother 😁 She has what she calls “my archive”, a big box of diaries, pieces of paper with some notes and drawings, postcards etc. - all sorts of memories from her childhood :) I do keep some things too, but her “archive” is quite unique :))))
OMG!!!! I immediately stopped the video to tell you the squirrel photo is EPIC!!!! Wow!!!! To catch that - utterly amazing!!!! Beautiful photo!!!!! Okay, back to the video!!! Lololool!!!!!!! #squirrellove !!!!!!
Here is an idea for that birthday card - put it at the back of a framed stitched piece for your daughter - tape it shut on the side and use it as an envelope to insert info about the piece. It is such a beautiful card front it would be a shame to discard.
Just caught up on the last couple of Flossmass videos. Lovely to meet Nick - and I wish him all good fortune in his career plans as a diplomat. Some serious skillz in answering those questions 🤣 Sooooo much snow! What does Roxy think of the snow dump?
I loved seeing the cards and handprints! I wonder whether your Mum put away that birthday card thinking, "I'm saving this for her 50th" or came across it recently?
Are you holding the qsnap in hand or on your frame? Also will you have a frame stand on display at Stitch North in April? Oh your finger. Hope it is not hampering your crafting. Oh my. Nicholas’. He was so sweet to the chat yesterday. I love my Power Nap after lunch. My middle son is the same a Sarah. He stopped taking naps before his 1st birthday. That was a great shot at the end.
I have trouble sleeping, just like your daughter. I am also small like your daughter but if you compare me to your family i am probably not even on the growth chart. Lol.

Think Roxy was just approving "slate". Memories are precious any time of the year xo

My mom saves everything as well.
I love a good nap on the weekends..
What a lovely photo of you and Nicholas at the end of today’s video! 😊
I am totally caught up on the Countdown! Love the slate thread (and all of the colours so far!)
Very beautiful video ❤ happy Stitching

Love hearing your trip down memory lane. So precious. It brings me to tears seeing the gifts from your children. Beautiful.

Their little handprints just melt the heart ❤️ 🥹

Oh, I missed the Kiss Kiss on the dresses as well. That’s what I get for late night stitching.
What a sweet bday card!! Too funny, my kiddos have the same hand print ornaments. I love looking back on all the things the kids made 💜
It’s so fun to look back at all the sweet hand-made memories they make ❤️

You could punch a hole on the top of the card and run a ribbon through it and use the card as a bookmark.
Oh I love that idea - that’s exactly what I’ll do, thank you!! 🥰
Just caught up on the last couple of Flossmass videos.

What does Roxy think of the snow dump?
He really does - and Roxy hates it! 😂 ok maybe not hate - but it’s definitely not her favourite

I actually have no idea! 🤔😂
@@OfftheGridNeedlearts 🤣
I might be related to your mum, except that she sounds more organized!!

On my stand - and yes! I’ll
Have some there for display. I can not WAIT to meet you in person ❤️

Can the symbols for next year be labeled 1 to 25?
