@@Kathanay iad j.s is +2 on block. Before, Sol could use 5k after his jump-in was blocked to beat throws. Now, he has no normal fast enough to be airtight. He can always be thrown out of it. You have to delay the j.s, which makes it less likely to punish something if you did get a good jump timing, or accept that you might get mixed because THEY blocked YOUR jump-in.

Yes, there are still options, but they are less consistent. They said their objective was to emphasize character strengths and weaknesses, yet they have made it so that a character who they want to be exclusively a close range specialist can occasionally be backthrown into the corner and lose, even after taking a risk and being correct.

Gorilla gameplay nerfed for sure. However there's a lot more you can do with blockstring pressure now (since before it was literally mindgames with stealing turns using BR after 5HS or just gunflame to end pressure). Since you can blockstring 5hs -> fafnir (2 frame gap, grab punishable but they need to react very quickly since fafnir is faster as well, nor is it 6p-able) leading to a big counterhit confirm, 5HS no longer "ends" sol's pressure string. You can also do a delayed vortex to go under any reversal poke (if the enemy likes to fS after your pressure, this applies), risky but can be made safe with meter. After playing for a bit, I actually think bandit bringer changes were net buffs unless all you did was run in bandit bringer all the time. Air bandit bringer isn't punishable anymore (the landing lag was reverted this patch when they removed the ability to charge it), and it floats you higher on startup which means you can bait out antiairs a bit better. Outside of using bandit bringer point blank (pushes back less, its easier for them to hit a button and force you to block), it feels a lot better to use. Just have to space it a bit (which isn't hard, Sol gets pushed back so far during his own blockstrings that it's practically automatically spaced at the end of a blockstring, just don't keep spamming it because you can get 6Ped if you're too obvious). 5K is definitely a nerf, but they did bring back 5K -> 6S as a true combo on grounded enemies, which means 5K -> 2D isn't the only route anymore, so... take what we can get. 6S is a nerf if you whiff, but we do have more cancel options now to keep some variety so that they still have to guess a little. I like the state Sol is in right now, it rewards basically every counterhit you get with a launcher into clean hit VV (which was impossible without meter on 6S or 2S counterhit, but vortex lets us combo into it now), and his combos have become a lot more fun to route into (personally, I thought his combo structure after the bandit revolver changes was really lame, looping 5K -> 6S into bandit revolver 1 on juggle was strong, but it was really autopilot-ey). Nerfed yes, but the changes they gave us are fun and interesting, which.. I can't say for some other characters that got changed (buffed but less fun or changed and less fun... cough potemkin).

First combo isnt fully practical/optimized. (IMO) It is better to do it with the same combo you can wallbreak on round start with. fs vortex 2k 6s small delay fafnir for true hit 5s dp. get 7 additional damage and you can also do it on round start, or off corner. And you dont EVEN NEED to counter hit, but it works with it also. Without counter strike combo is auto timed also!
Am I the only one who thinks it's stupid that HMC does like 70% damage now, but by the time you get to 100% tension, the opponent never has more than half or even a third of his life left? The damage buff never applies this way.

Fafnir only wall bounces on clean hit (CL). That means there is a sweetspot that you are trying to hit. If you aren't getting wallbounce in the combos try delaying fafnir or doing it sooner.
@TheUbernuck ok thanks because no matter how much I did fafnir I wasn't able to get the wall balance and I was so confused I'm trying to figure out the sweet spot but I don't really know what it is and it seems like it's very important to learn that sweet spot to combo the way that this guy comboed with soul I'm doing really bad with the character even when he wasn't bad like in season 3 and I still wasn't super good with them but I was okay and now they just took everything I know about the character and did a 180 so now I feel like I don't know how to play this character at all and soul and aba ever like the only two characters I love to play

Yea, pretty much. Now i cant just spam 214k all the time without getting punished and my favorite combo is gone.

5k kara hvv is also good to get lower wall splats in case you want to guarantee the tyrant rave doesnt whiff.
