@@TheLouisianaOutdoorExperience I’m going to be using mine in my new Kevlar canoe. Not sure how I’ll set up the transducer. Sounds like I might be able to get a signal through the hull of the canoe instead of over the side?

@@marathonkev yes you can. I tried it on my fiberglass pirougue and it work. I just dont use it that way beacuse normally there is not enough room for everything when I am fishing in it.

I actually havent played with the setting much. I use it mostly for depth and temperature.

Also, I used the holes in the bottom of the big base to route the cables to the battery. Not necessary I don't guess, but it made it a little nicer looking.

QUESTION:
1. Is the bag waterproof
2. Can or will the battery get wet If bag is exposed to water.

I have never had the in the rain in the but ive splashed it and the battery stayed dry. Since this video I actually mounted it in my kayak and the battery is now under the deck in a holder.

Thanks for helping me with this as the Garmin instructions are very poor. One question: a small rubber washer comes with the bag containing the transducer hardware...where does it go?

What is the 4th screw hole for? I noticed the base would fit on the 3 screw holes you used or it would fit using the screw hole closest to the battery. I couldn't figure out any reason to choose one way over the other

This portable bag can be used with different versions of the Garmin Striker which are larger and use different mounts for the connection.

It has a tranducer that you can attact to a suction cup mount or float. Which is provided in the kit.

Did you ever try the suction cup on the side of a boat how well does it hold?

The longest i have had the suction cup stay on was about 10 min. I have tried it on aluminum boat, fiberglass pirogue and on my kayak.

Thats what I'm curious about as well. Just picked up this entire kit for Xmas and having issues with how to level the transducer while attached to the suction cup.
