    Thanks for the info! I found out that if you can prove the bad review was based off of being petty for cleaning and refueling fees, you can get the review removed. Especially when all the other messages were kind and there was no issues prior to the charge at the end.

    I agree with everything you are saying. I have been a host for a couple of years now and I have dealt with everything you mentioned. I was so attached to the first car. now I have a few of them and am unattached. They are money makers and that is all. Aside from maintenance, I am not interested.

    For the cleaning fee, I warn them in my description to please return the car clean, or a cleaning fee would be applied! It's mainly for the inside of the car. The outside would get dirty regardless.

      Hi Fernando
      If you purchase a car for 40k and you finance it for 3 years.
      Your Turo business was able to cover mortgage and generate extra cash.
      then sold it for 25k after 3 years
      Do you have to to pay taxes on the 25K?
      Your videos are great.
      It will be great if you can make a video to detail one example of when you purchase a car for turo business and then when you sell it, what is the list of profits and tax deductions and how much you pay tax when you sell the car.
      Thank you
      Looking forward to your reply

    • @fernando_h_001
      @fernando_h_001  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Ashok, for sure no problem here is the text template, My recommendation for licks would be something in Amazon perhaps no more than $100 should do, but you want to make sure it is big enough for your key to fit. If you are using fobs, make sure you use a fob transmitter bag, to prevent guests or strangers to be able to open the car.
      Hello this is Luis your Host, I just wanted to go over some details about your check in process. This will be a self check in process, when you arrive to the car you can call me or text me and I will remotely unlock the car. The key will be in the cupholder in the center. And to turn on the car and operate the car I have attached a link with some video tutorials.
      www.tesla.com/support/meet-your-tesla/model-3
      Also since I won’t be seeing you in person I need you to text me a picture holding your drivers license with the car in the background in order for me to unlock the car. This is the way used to validate your identity.
      Please also No smoking, there is a standard $150 smoking cleanup fee and it is cigarettes it will be $300 that will be charged on card on file. Smoking is NOT optional so let’s try to leave this car smelling good for other guests.
      To ensure you don’t get any post cleanup fees or post trip charging fees please return the car clean and with the same charge level as received. Also Pet hair is not included, please return clean if traveling with pets or be subject to a $120 cleaning fee.
      All Tesla superchargers do charge you for charging, however this should be approximately $5-12 depending on the amount you charge. These charges will be billed to my Tesla account directly and i’ll ask for reimbursement after trip. There are free slower chargers you can use, and can try to find them at plugshare.com
      If you want to use the tesla app, send me an email and i’ll add you as a driver. Thank you and hope you enjoy your trip.

    Great video thanks but I hit a couple of questions you might have an answer for it:
    How many days a month you successfully booked your car on Turo? How many days you had with the lowest month and how many days you had with your highest month?
    Do you have any tips on how to rent a car on Turo fully remotely in a different state that I live in? It’s going to be difficult to have pre trip photo; deliver the car or collect the car or even park and clean the car?! But I believe its worth the adventure?

    • @fernando_h_001
      @fernando_h_001  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks for watching and reaching out, below are my answers:
      1. I would calculate about 80% ocupancy so 20-25 days per month.
      2. There were months where I was fully booked every day and there was one month I was booked only some days because the vehilce was left in california and could not rent it out, and so that was a very bad experience. I've left link to that video below.
      3. You would need a cleaning crew who can wash clean and drive the car to drop off spaces when needed and a Virtual assistant or yourself to communicate with customer. I know people that do this, and it seems to work for them.

      Airport drop off instructions
      I hope your trip and landing to Vegas was a pleasurable one. I have left the car at Terminal 1 short term parking. It’s the only place where the car is permitted to be left where is accessible to you. The key will be inside the Car located in Level 2M of the short term parking lot in terminal 1. If you are landing in terminal 3 you must take a shuttle to terminal 1 (they are free and easy to use).
      Once you are in front of the car please call me or text me and I will verify your identity by either sending me a selfie with your drivers license and the car in the background or video call so you can show me your drivers license.
      I’ll remotely unlock the car and you can now enjoy your stay in Vegas. Also i left the parking pass next to the key, (they are located in the center console storage.) you will need to use that to exit depending on your time it should be a fee of $3-$6.
      Please also No smoking, there is a standard $150 smoking cleanup fee and it is cigarettes it will be $300 that will be charged on card on file. Let’s try to leave this car smelling good for other guests.
      If you want to use the tesla app, send me an email and i’ll add you as a driver.
      If you have questions i’m here to help you, also to make sure the car is being charged in a casino (plugshare.com) or at a Tesla supercharger (typically cost $10-$13 to charge), adapter is in the trunk if needed. Thank you for being kind and mindful of the car. Its a fun car to drive i sure hope you enjoy the experience.

    Hi. I'm thinking of putting my Tesla M3 on Turo. I have a few questions, if you have time. 1. Is the Tesla app just as good at tracking the car as an extra gps tracker? 2. Do you have to lend the renter you key card? Could you not just set them up temporarily on your Tesla account and put keyless driving on? Sorry if these are silly questions!

    • @fernando_h_001
      @fernando_h_001  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hello thanks for watching, please find the answer to your questions below:
      1. Yes tesla app is really good, you really odn't need another tracker.
      2. I normally would give them the key but would offer the option to add them as a driver since most people would leave the car unlocked because they don't know how to lock it, Using the app is much safer for the car in my experience.
      3. No silly questions in my channel all great questions! Hope this helped. !

    Super helpful vid. I’m starting as a host this week! Would definitely like those pre written texts if you don’t mind. Also, what would you recommend for key pick up of a car that’s not automated like the Tesla? How would you go about getting a lock box with the car key inside and get it safely to the customer without being present? Is there a way?

    • @fernando_h_001

      Hello Arion, thanks for watching please find the text templates below: www.fernandoherrera.org/post/pre-written-text-messages-you-need-for-turo. Now in terms of the key specifically for a tesla, I would always give them the card key, and unlock the car remotely. Some I would even share the car access via the tesla app. Try to make it as convenient as possible for the guest.

    Hey Fernando!!! Do you recommend any type of seat covers? If so, is leather preferred. Also floor mats are they worth the investment!? Thanks so much for the great info! Hello Samantha, thanks for watching and commenting. I would prefer leather, however if you can't have that then seat covers should be fine, there is also a product they sell that you can spray on your seats and its like a ceramic coat on seats that prevent leaks and stains to get on your seats easily. I'm really excited for you being one of the few Turo hosts in your area, really hope it goes well for you!

    TURO will not cover you if your renter goes off-roading in your car. Make sure to take pictures/videos of your undercarriage before every trip. NO, TURO Is not worth this hassle. Maybe the tracker suggestion would help, but we lost an $8000 car and claim for damages, because we didn't have pictures. But we had dirt and now a total loss on our car. Arbitration was a joke, you should contact TURO to opt out on sign up. Doesn't matter that we have a huge physical damage to our car transfer case from a rock being hit. Doesn't matter that the mechanic believes the damage is from off-roading and we have never gone off-roading. Doesn't matter that the car worked fine before the trip and they drove it 800 miles. TURO will screw you over. So take the video/photos or don't use TURO. Also it doesn't matter that you go through the entire check-in/out process. It doesn't ask for undercarriage photos.

    We just rented our car to our very first guest today. We could not see any info about the person. Past ratings, reviews ect. She showed up and looked super sketchy. We are worried. Is there no way to see past info or reviews for a guest? Can we refuse a rental request? Cant seem to find answers anywhere. (I,ve tried TURO, Google, Reddit, TH-cam)

      Hello Jeremy, thanks for watching sorry for the delay, as far as I know I think Turo has the option to automatically accept trips or approve them, if you already accepted the trip and cancel it will hurt your metrics. If you have them to be approved and don't approve the trip then it won't Hope this was helpful.

      Hello, absolutely,
      Hello this is Luis your Host, I just wanted to go over some details about your check in process.
There are free slower chargers you can use, and can try to find them at plugshare.com. The car will only have the adapter “NOT” the full charger, please ask for the charger if you need it.
      If you want to use the tesla app, send me an email and i’ll add you as a driver. Thank you and hope you enjoy your trip. Thanks

    Hey so if you’re remotely unlocking the car upon your renters arrival, what is the lockbox for exactly?

    • @fernando_h_001
      @fernando_h_001  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Kia, that is a great question, so in reality only the tesla has the remote lock and unlock, the Prius doesn't so that's where I use the lock box.
