- The Lexin brand of motorcycle intercoms are probably one of my favourite bang for the buck brands. You get such a great set of motorcycle intercoms for a fantastic price. We have been using the original Lexin B4FM intercoms for the past 2 years with no issues at all. They have run flawlessly. Today we are looking at the updated version of the Lexin B4FM intercom set. This update now includes Bluetooth 5.0, Has USB-C for charging and for the included mic and speakers. Plus you get the ability to share your music and connect up to 10 of these for the ultimate group ride. Now we don't try out all these features, but we do end up going for a ride so that we can test these out and see what kind of distance you can get. Have used the old ones almost daily, since July 2020. Zero problems. These plus the old ones...I'd never have to buy coms ever again. Music sharing and USBC great upgrades.
yeah us too. Music sharing is nice for those that need it for sure. My wife and I listen to very different music, but it is a great feature. Im pleased to see the USBC upgrade.
These are nice looking communications units and the price is great. What a great fall day for a ride.
My speedometer is also in Miles instead of Kilometers. I had a local sports trophy/engraving shop make a small conversion chart for me and I just double sided taped it to my fairing.

Thanks for the review Greg! I had a question for you. I have the old version and use them on snowmobiles (for those that are wondering they perform very well in the cold, and wet. Never had a problem even at -30c). I ride alone a lot and listen to music. The one thing about these that I don't like is the sound quality for music. Any significant change with the new model?
I have tried a cheaper bt system and it was good till around 60/65 mph on my Sportster.. I do have a decent full face ( torc t14 ) and my last helmet was a bell qualifier... Do you think this is louder to hear at 70/75 then a wipe eyes e1

hi, is the music sharing connected via just 1 phone ? like me and my pillion wife listens to the same music via 1 phone ?
If I buy these to ride ATVs with my children. There's times I'd like to be listening to music. Will they be able to talk and cause my music to pause to hear them? Or will I just need to ride in comm mode the whole time?

it's a real intercom ... for transmission the main function of an intercom !

Only issue I have is that small buttons are hard to use with gloves on and especially winter ones, and these units seem to have fairly small buttons
Do you know if you can pair different Lexin devices? Say 2 ft4 pros and 2 b4fm in a 4 person group ride??
i tried this b4fm all thing is fine but my friend I only getting connection around 200 meter after that sound crack start

it really depends on if there is stuff in your area that is interfering with the system. I can easily get way more than that, but I also live out in the country. But even when I lived in the city I was getting 500-800 meters for sure.
What about the fodsports intercom systems, they seem to be cheaper than these ones and performance is comparable
Question for you. Can you have the intercom going while you’re listening to music? Like it’ll just pause or cut out your tunes when someone starts talking to you?
Yes and the music starts again once you stop talking.

I’m aware that these are rated as being fairly water resistant…. I’m wondering it this included all components… ie.. is the ear piece/speaker also water resistant.?

i wouldnt think so. the earpiece has no protection as the helmet itself is supposed to provide the protection for the speaker.
Is the speaker and mic water resistant also? Ie.. can this be used for Watersports?
doubtful. i dont know any motorcycle based comm system that will have waterproof speakers. They are designed to be protected by the helmet.
Is it possible for the blue faceplate to come off to be painted if someone wanted to do that?

Good question. Get the FT4Pro if sound quality is the most important. If not get the B4FM. I feel you get more features and the audio quality is close enough for most people. I do feel that you may get a bit more distance with the FT4Pro, but its probably very close.

How do you record your audio on the bike with your GoPro?
I have the mic adapter and just run a mic from the camera into my helmet.
used old version for 4 years, battery still ok, no problems, but speakers are trash.

range is a complete lie lol, you will get 50 to 100 meters max! we bought 3 for snowmobiling and looking directly at each other on a wide open clear area with blue sky you would be lucky to get 100 meters and you would be struggling to understand the person. Beyond that it wont work at all...
Untrue me and my buddy and I get over half a mile with ours and we're in a mountain state. 1.2 miles was a stretch but we put a half mile between us and it was crystal clear.
@@probenasty You are lucky. Max range I have found is also 100m tops. Any object at all between riders drops the connection. I even sat on an overpass while my buddy rode down the highway still no more than 100m and he was gone.
