I remember this very well. We lived out in the country off Highway 8. Daddy would to park his Buick at the bottom of our driveway. Daddy would carry me up our driveway to our house. I was in the 1st grade of school. Felt like I was on top of the world in my Dad's arms.
Wow,I can remember the old Raylass and McClellan's stores on main street. My grandmother and I would take the bus into town and spend the day shopping at those stores and the old Grant's department store. We would eat lunch at Mann's Drugs or Mack's discount store.(This was in the early 70's;the city bus service was shut down in 1974.)
thats cool my dads from lexington, grandparents still live there, they say the hard winters here run in like a 30 year cycle,i wonder if its gonna come back this year.
I was living in Cincinnati when I first asked those questions. Now I am living on Gray Rd too! You know any of the Graves'? That my family, in fact many years ago I'm told it used to be Graves Rd.
