Oi.

A curiosity: the original title in Portuguese is "Caminho das Índias" literally "India's Route", it is a historical reference, when the Portuguese "found" Brazil (or invaded) they were going to India, we say they missed the India's route.

We were not supposed to root for Raj and Maya, the Indian characters who were in an arraged marriage to end up together, so that the girl Maya, would move to Brazil, where caste system doesn't matter, and live with the Dalit guy Bahuan, and for Raj to end up marrying the Brazilian firanghi to whom he originally proposed to. But the actors had so much chemistry, that we ended up rooting for them to stay married and they changed the ending so the audience got what we hoped for. Raj and Maya learn how to love each other, despite the fact that theirs was an arranged marriage, and they end up happily together.

    • @Marina-nn4md
      @Marina-nn4md ปีที่แล้ว +108

When Raj and Maya marry, she is already expecting Bahuan's child. But by the time Raj learns this, he has already fallen for Maya, and though he is initially angry, he is such a good man that he worries what would happen to her and the baby once their families learn that she had a dalit's child, so he ultimately tells her that he will keep her secret and raise the child as his own. And that's basically when everyone fell in love with Raj and decided they wanted her to end up with Maya. Specially because Bahuan gave up eloping with Maya at the last minute before she was given away to Raj. Because he felt he had to become rich and sucessful before he could take her away from her wealthy family, even though she didn’t care that he was poor. So, that made the audience less sympathetic to him, because he broke her heart abandoned her in that situation, while Raj supported her. So that seemed like the bigger love story.

A maioria é besteirol descartável.

Brazilians love Indians, I am Brazilian, you will always be welcome here. One interesting thing is that Brazil was discovered because of India. During the age of great navigations, they wanted to find a better route to India, but ended up getting lost and finding this land that is now Brazil. Initially, they thought they had found India because when they arrived, they encountered the indigenous natives who they called "Índios", a Portuguese word that derives from "Indian".

Grade abraço do BRASIL, O PAÍS DA DIVERSIDADE!

All the actors in this soap opera are Brazilians; there are Indians, yes, but only as extras (in crowd scenes). I loved this soap opera, it is very beautiful and, really, it was a big production, but it took its toll, in terms of ratings, and, yes, there are many stereotypes of Indians in the soap opera!
To this day I can hum all the songs, obviously with mistakes in the Indian language!
Besides being a great production, with very famous actors and actresses, by the way, I think the success of the soap opera was also due to the similarities between India and Brazil, such as, for example, many social contrasts, an elite of rich and a multitude of miserable/very poor! Of difference, very clear, there is a more rigid life style among the Indians and more relaxed and laid back, among the Brazilians!

Caminho das Índias (original title) was one of the most beautiful soap operas in Brazil! The actress who played the main character, Maya, was Juliana Paes, who was really identical to an Indian! The clothes, music, and scenery, all very exquisite to show the Indian culture in depth, even if today it is no longer like that. Glória Perez, who is the writer of the soap opera, always brings cultures from different countries to her soap operas. Another beautiful soap opera she wrote and produced, this time about Morocco, was O Clone. Congratulations for your video! I loved it!
