I read an old written article of an interview with Amanda Blake and she said there was "something" between the two characters but it was kept off screen. I recall a scene where a woman liked Matt but when she saw the look on Ms. Kitty's face she said, "he belongs to you." And in another scene where a man was getting rough with Ms. Kitty and Matt intervened, the man said, "I get it, she's yours."
