Really really appreciate this brother. So many coaches in wrestling kinda have this tough guy attitude of just show the minimal amount of technique and “put these guys to work.” The problem is, if you don’t understand what’s going on you’re never really gonna get that good anyway, so all the work doesn’t matter nearly as much. Simple things like explaining what hand fighting even is and what it entails is lost on so many coaches. “Just do a collar tie!” Again, thanks so much 🙏🏼

@@ironfaithwrestling Quick question, do we really call this hand Fighting. I am old school with a little update on technique. One time a while back, I asked one of my students what he was learning in practice and he said hand Fighting. I had to have him explain to me what he was talking about. I told him , so you are talking about moving your opponent to create an opening to get to your takedown.

East Coast concept. Nothing wrong here. There is a group out there insisting on calling moves really stupid names. “Hand fighting” is a term that came around 12 years ago to replace GET TO YOUR TIE.
Ppl that say it will use terms like HEADLOCK in place of HEAD-N-ARM or GATOR BACCON in place of DEATH GRIP.

An amazing video of all hand fighting moves. I am an adult recreational grappler and I specialize in the Russian Tie but anyway don't take my word for it. The "wrong way" to grip the wrist from a Russian tie is not really wrong, it's just that wrestlers don't know how to position themselves when gripping the wrist like that. Check out Ismael Borrero who is an Olympic gold medalist that made a career of 2 on 1 and Russian ties and that's how he predominantly grips the wrist. I had the privilege to go to the same gym in Cuba where he used to train. He grabs your wrist and you will not be able to pull it out

Not to mention their hand fighting is insane. I've tried hand fighting a guy like this in BJJ and it's a whole different world it seems. Go for a collar tie and they immediately get an underhook on me and its game over from there. Or even just initial contact is impossible because they don't reach they bring their mass forward and initiate with ridiculous strength and arms glued to their sides.

The "Hand fighting manual" is a one page .pdf file, and is literally just a menu for this video. Just to clarify.

Yeah, my plan is to do one for each video I make then have a book off all of them that will go along with the videos! Super excited, probably going to take me at least a year to get through everything I want though 😂.

Also let me know if there’s certain details you think would be valuable. I’ll make sure to add them in future ones as well as edit old ones!

Hmm ok, very nice video but I think way way too much content for most guys. I guess you have a reason for making one long lesson but is it usable? You are teaching something that in some ways, cannot be taught in long lessons, because it is so dynamic, happens so fast and you have no time to think about it. I suggest separate lessons.

Definitely been debating doing that, thanks for the feedback
