I'vc been a runner (not competitively) for 14 years now. I first received my Airofit on June 16th, 2021. I use it everyday for 12 minutes, totaling 3 sessions a day I do. Tailoring to running using it for. First day I got it my vital accessible lung capacity was 6.5 liters. 6 liters is male average. I'm now at 9 liters. I'm running faster not even out of breath the slightest and running longer without gasping for air on speed runs on the treadmill. Also breathing regularly oxygen inhale/exhale feels more pure and I can absorb more oxygen as well as exhale more oxygen. This devices changes the game for any bodies lungs. Not just sports and working out.
@@runnermkp10 I start of with Presence session at beginner for two minutes to get my lungs warmed up. Then I do the two daily running app program sessions. Then I do the hyper strength session for ten minutes on expert level. I get perfect scores (95% or above). I have amazing lungs my doctor said three weeks ago hearing them with her stethoscope. You will start to see progress after four weeks of everyday use.
Professor, respiratory therapist, and pulmonay physiology/medicine specialist here! I might have missed it, but unless you went through specific pulmonary function testing (i.e., spirometry, body plethysmography, nitrogen washout, etc.), there is no way to truly have an accurate measure of lung capacity. For example, lung residual volume, a component of total lung capacity, can not be measured directly. Lung capacity in and of itself is not terribly trainable...you are not "making more alveoi," but rather perhaps recruiting lung units that might not be utilized prior to breathing exercises. A ~67% increase in total lung CAPACITY (there is no such thing as lung volume...a grouping of volmues is referred to as capacity) is highly unlikely due to "new lung tissues" or even in general. You probably have seen a moderate increase in the strength and functioning of the muscles of respiration, but I am highly suspect of the reported lung capacity measurement and increase.
Is the claim that lungs capacity increases as you describe or is the claim that the muscles that aid the lungs in diaphragmatic hypertrophy and increased inspiratory muscle strength? Specifically the diaphragm and intercostal muscles?
@Brian R Okay now that we've got that out of the way, what is your opinion of breathing trainers in and of themselves? Especially for people who have had lungs damaged by an illness?
I love this. I am an exercise scientist and 100% agree with you. Quick question though I tested it for 3 months as a Semi Pro Athlete and did notice quite a large improvement in my riding. And my "lung capacity" went from 4.4 to 7.4. Why do you think that is? Serious question.
I will be buying this. I'm assuming my lung capacity is very low, but I've been working to get back in shape, am down 15 lbs, my VO2 max continues to increase slowly and my overall fitness continues to increase, but am out of breath a lot so going to add this into the mix to up my game.
I just ordered the Pro - 30% off as it's Tour de France. As a lifelong asthmatic who did quite some free diving in my early years- I can certainly feel my respiratory fitness has declined now I'm in my mid 50s. I've also seen that my O2 saturation as measured by finger pulse oxymeter + more recently Apple Watch that it's kicking around the lower end of normal. I'll be curious to see how this device impacts my overall respiratory fitness.
yo viktor, super happy to find your channel! I was using an analog breather, but never really got into it. after seeing your review now you pushed me over the edge and I am definitely gonna star training using this! used your link, so hope that helps you. an extra 50 bucks off and i got the pro for 297, which is a really good deal. Can't wait to start using it! (even got express shipping on it). Good question! The device can add resistance to inhalation and exhalation (6 different levels). When paired with the app it will indicate what level of resistance you should have for training and testing, according to your level and training plan/goals 😊 Best of luck!
The device isn't suitable for ages under 12. If the athlete is between 12 and 14 years old, it must be used with parent supervision. That's what it said on the instruction manual of the airofit pro 2.0 that I received today.
@@ToNiiCxHD true but the device is specifically to make it difficult to breathe through mouth. If you wear it and breath through your nose, then you are basically working around it.
@@thuglaza4728I think it works fine for nose breathing. It’s more about expanding lung capacity and exercising the inhale/exhale muscles, right? Whether you breathe through your mouth or nose, your breathing muscles will likely tire out at the same pace. If it does work as they say it does then your lungs are just getting more efficient. The resistance is not for the air hole, but for the lungs.
You are correct also mouth breathing is terrible for you why would companies push this? The most effective way to breathe is thru your nose it’s hard at first with exercise but you will adapt and soon it will be way easier

I am not against advertizement in general but this one is misleading. You can improve your lung function and make it more efficient but increasing the capacity...Not likely. I do not see a reason to mislead the audience.@@jerrygarcia7008

Hi Viktor, looks interesting! Can you check again the coupon as it does not work?
What does it do? Restrict your oxygen or something?
That’s literally all I’m trying to understand about this; and it hasn’t been addressed.

Do you need to pay a monthly subscription for the training plans afterwards?
i have the exact same question
How do you clean it?
Does it matter at what time in a day you use it? Before or after a workout ?
Thank you for the discount code! Just put in an order. Can you do a video demonstrating correct form while using it? That is why I came to TH-cam.
So did this device help you?

What is your coupon code? the link doesn't give me a discount.
What about nose breathing which is a key vasodilator and recommended for runners improving their aerobic fitness?
awesome review!!! just ordered mine
Did this device help you?
Does it work
Worth it for someone with asthma?
I have asthma too. Think I'm gonna buy.

How do you get the coupon for Aerofit ?
