No. I am sick and tired of the vast majority of modern anime. So I am moving on to the older stuff, which is, generally, at the very least interesting.
If you liked Gunsmith Cats, check out Riding Bean. It actually has Rally in her original form in it. There was some IP bullshit back in the day when Kenichi Sonoda made it and he couldn't continue the series so he turned Rally, the sidekick from riding Bean into the star of Gunsmith Cats.
I would love to see a full series of this since OVAs back in those days were mainly vehicles to sell manga, PC games, or novels if it wasn’t an original concept or story like Robot Carnival or Angel’s Egg or the like. Given its age it doesn’t seem likely, but stranger things have happened
If they were to adapt the manga, the fanservice level would be pretty high, sometimes bordering on the problematic. The closest modern anime equivalent would be Lycoris Recoil. If you're interested in a hard rock anime, check out Legend of Black Heaven: A middle aged former rocker is scouted by aliens because it turns out his band's music powers up their giant space laser.
So... this wasn't a bad show back in the day. In the USA, it ran on Stars or Showtime at ridiculous times of the morning and sometimes really late at night, but it kind of filled a void between Outlaw Star and Samurai Champloo, which were usually playing on cartoon network at the time. The biggest issue with this series is the final episode. they should have just taken out the Russian gangster with an explosion, rather than pretend it required everyone to get shot and a deliberate act of willpower while inflicting damage to defeat the end bad guy. Megumin yelling "EXPLOSION!" is definitely a good way to die.
@SpeedyBoi696 there Is a new gits anime coming in 2026 which Is being made by science saru production , that Is making dandadan right now , I have High hopes for that
the welrod is missing it's baffles, 0/10 immersion ruined. Also Speedy you forgot the primary users of the gun, the resistance fighters across western Europe.
Did you watch any detective shows back in the day??
The og detective Conan

True true I’d love to see a studio take it on and give it a full series. Egg man’s self portraits aren’t safe from me
Rally is both my spirit animal and one of the best girls in the entirety of anime.
Agreed

I’ve actually watched a few episode of it but I’ll have to go back to watch it in full
It's really amazing how much this show influenced Cowboy Bebop. But then again, Cowboy Bebop took influence from a lot of stuff.
