The drivers should simply refuse to use busses that are not safe. They should be protected by law in doing so. Where I live, the school district owns and operates its own busses and the drivers are unionized. These drivers are afraid to speak out? Unionize! And ths Durham bus company needs to be sued by every district it does business with. The district pays 8 mil? It needs to get its money's worth. And the school district officials in charge of contract compliance need to be fired. The district probably needs a new lawyer too.
You can BET they'll get into trouble for speaking out REGARDLESS of being told they won't. DON'T BELIEVE IT! We drivers are NOT important enough to districts!

The moral of the story is to not use a nationwide contractor like First Student or Durham. Either use a local contractor or buy/own/operate your own buses.
Keller Bus logic is unsafe. They block traffic near Tarrant Parkway and 377 at some apartments. Even know the apartment complex has a giant empty entry and exit. They prefer to stop 3 lanes of traffic to let off 20 kids rather than taking 5 seconds to pull in the complex.
