@@BrokenCircle1 so far the only dlc the season pass is for is whats already out being the 3 weapons, B.A.M. 2 campaign missions, the horde mode, and all the new music. As far as I know thats all there is to Trepang2, I have no info on whether or not its being made but for now Im certain these guys are probably wanting to make a sequel, cuz theyve already spent plenty of time on this game alone, and hopefully the funding leads to a somewhat bigger studio with more stuff to work with
I still remember this game from when it started off as an UE4 prototype for one of the Epic Games UE4 contests. I am glad to see it survived the trials of time and became an all-time favorite.
I don’t think I’ve seen a single player shooter with so much passion, and so feature complete with side modes. This game is so peak. Fills that hole modern COD left
There's another interesting similarity between Halo and Trepang2 that I'd like to point out: The soundtracks. Much like how Halo has some music that has bits of the main theme/other tracks sprinkled in, Trepang2 has many soundtracks that incorporate familiar melodies from other tracks in the game. Fucking awesome game, btw. I'm a huge Halo fan, but I've deadass been playing this more than Halo Infinite. It's just such a good dopamine hit after a long night at work.
Awesome review mate, I'm so glad to see people showcasing this amazing game. I have been following the games development since 2018 and it has come a long way from a 1 man project to what it became on release. A super fun game, great combat loop with ripper gameplay, amazing sound design and music and a very interactive development team. ❤
Nice video! Great point about the microtransactions and whatnot. This game is a true return to form: you just download that sucka in twenty/thirty minutes, boot it up, and it runs like a dream. And all for the price of a haircut!
This looks like a 2000s shooter made with all the advancements of modern hardware and its absolutely glorious. And the fact it was made by just 4 guys is insane, it's a testament to why smaller dev teams are better and more affective at making well rounded/polished games. I'll definitely be checking this out. Also have you heard about the build of the Megabloks halo game that got released, and I'm curious as too what your thoughts on it are. Do you think a Lego style Halo game could've worked?
Yes it is like that. I heard/saw about the megablocks. Honestly my take is the same as it was back in 2013 when it was first heard about...game looked very kiddied down and unnecessary. Cool perhaps but still just another attempt at the 'broader audience' Even felt cheap at the time, I mean Lego games were really popping off back then so felt like a cheap clone. Wasn't a fan even if it might be cool. I just wanna see something original rather than Microsoft copy/pasting other ideas. If they in 2013 were going to make a full open world Minecraft-Halo hybrid that would have been cool and new but as it stands the game just looked like Lego Star Wars with a Halo skin.
I too bought this on GOG last year, and all I can say is it was my Game of the Year 2023... Also Trepang2 is such a fucking happy pill when I need one!
This review made me pull the trigger. Digital Deluxe for 17.49 is actually a steal for getting all. DLCs, thank you for the firm support of this game! Really made a case
@@BrokenCircle1 Dude.. if there’s one word to to describe this fps, it would sexy. Everything about this game just provide a constant hit of dopamine and I was configure the perfect settings. This game is easily a 9.9 out of 10. Thank you bro!
Trepang2 was so good it made me even play whole fear franchise including it’s expansions, while i can only say that fear 1 and extraction point stood out as high quality ones, I’m still not disappointed with overall experience, also you might as well wanna check out selaco, severed steel and sprawl, if you want more half life and doom 3 kind of games you can go with kvark, industria, retchid, singularity and maybe prey 2017 (this one is an immersive sim btw)
@@BrokenCircle1 that is understandable, prey can be a bit of headache too at first since it’s an immersive sim, however if you like bioshock you might also like atomic heart…yeah i hate how balerina twins became icon of that game but i’m sure it has room for enjoyment outside that
you know? I would like saber interactive to developers of space Marine 2 to make a halo game combined with this awesome game called Trepang. As in self publish and develop in conjunction with certain affinity. What do you think?
It's £10 of less as a key online for steam so I really need to pick this up haha been interested a few times but never looked at what it offers with so many games in my backlog
@SIGNOR-G More in the sense of how the story is portrayed. It's more about *factions* rather than characters. I'm not saying the characters aren't poorly written though, as the lore is really interesting.
hiddenxperia just put out a new interesting video talking about the development of halo infinite. He went into great detail in explaining why it happened. However, at the same time he went to great effort to say that 343 doesn't have the same issues. Knowing your position that 343 still has many of the same problems from the great dismantling. I'd imagine you have a lot to disagree on. What is your reply and will you put out a response video to his video?
@gpheonix1 No... I try not to get involved in petty drama and response videos. 343 definitley has issues many of the same as it did 4 5 or 10 years ago if anything id argue they are worse now than ever but whatever. In my last Halo video I explained I'm basically done covering it unless there is some MAJOR news IE Halo getting completely shelved, 343 being fired, or some crazy new game news (no not the Megablocks game everyone has known about for a decade...people were really looking for content with that one) Halo is a joke today. I'm sick of covering it. There are other great games like this one in the video. I say let it rot. Let the shills continue to say it's good when it isn't. They get the buggy microtransaction filled garbage they deserve.
Nice to see this awesome spiritual successor to F.E.A.R. Get some much needed love! Especially since the DLC came out not too long ago!
Do you know if they're planning any more DLC and if so does the season pass grant access to future DLC?

Great FPS game. I'm burned out with most fast paced "boomer shooters," but I did like Trepang 2.
Hoping we get a sequel given the true ending.
For a FPS game inspired by 2000's FPS games, i am surprised the gameplay is unique instead of being a dull Half-Life clone.
