    I’d love to grow your Easter eggs, 🤣🤣 but Down under in Australia our seasons are a bit upside down. Early April is the time to plant winter crops, particularly a special multicoloured variety of peas that originated in America, that grow multi coloured peas just in time to harvest for Halloween. Mmmmm. Crunchy shelled relative of your egg plants. Yummy

    Any idea how to get the little bits of sea salt and almond in the skin? I am wondering whether it's worth camping out in the greenhouse for a fortnight incessantly throwing bits of food at the fruit as they harden off to see what gets embedded.

    • @GrowVeg
      @GrowVeg  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You could try that. Easier, though, is to add a little (just a little - not too much!) salt to the water from flowering time. It has to be very little - you don't want to kill the plant! The almost are introduced by adding a few drops of almost essence (the real stuff, not almond flavour) once the fruits have set.

    The whole story sounds so vague and untrue, and yet it seems to be so believable. Well-done, a great April Fool's joke. Salute to all !!

    My Grandpa used to grow these in central Florida when I was little. He bought a couple of old, used refrigerators and set them out in the garden facing the plants. When the time was right, he would plug them in with long extension cords and open the doors to chill the plants.

      I started reading your comment and wondered how you'd manage to get that temperature drop in central Florida. What an ingenious way to do it. Your grandpa was a wise chap!
