If anyone is looking for a great spot to plane watch at BHX can highly recommend, where the Holiday inn is if you enter the old entrance for the old airport and follow the road down there is a multi story car park which is so close to the runway and you also get to see all the cargo planes
Very helpful as I'm flying from here march 2024 and will be driving to the airport.
There are works going on at the moment in the airport, so best to get there early

I am flying from B’ham soon and have to get a good feel of the airport so really want to go for a wonder around before hand - can I go in and explore the airport as far as the departure lounge to get to know the layout etc…?
Airlink which is next to departures lead you to nec, resorts world and train station is free , buses that go around airport to different car parks is free. Yes you can explore.

Salam. How to travel from Birmingham airport to Dudley at a hostel. I am a student and will be having luggage with me.
Really depends on ur luggage, get a taxi if you have many luggage, but if small luggage catch the X1 bus from airport to city centre then i believe catch the X8 bus towards Dudley Wolverhampton

You are required to hand your car keys over at Airparks Birmingham and Stress-free Meet and Greet parking. You can keep you car keys if you park in the Birmingham Short and Medium Stay car park 1, Birmingham Short and Medium Stay car parks 2 and 3 and the Birmingham Long Stay car park . from a website.
This new idea of having to pay for a baggage trolley is all wrong. I am flying back to BHX in the near future, having been away for 8 years. I will not have any UK change, only 20 pound notes, and there is nowhere I can get change. At my age (73) I do not want to have to carry a heavy suitcase.
Hi yeah they were introduced back in 2009, you can hopefully get change in shops or probably in flight too.

yes from the airport go first floor and catch the shuttle

Can you tell me if they have free motorbike parking like alot of other airports? I'm due to fly on friday bug cant find any information
on their website it says Birmingham Airport has several on and off-site cark parks, motorbike parking, and disabled spaces, all within easy access of the terminal building. contact NCP for further info

Very nice presentation: thanks to ZRK. some nice tips here, since I'll probably need to print out my ticket.
All I need to know is *where* X1 bus stops at the airport :) Google maps (and the airport map I found online) don't seem to indicate this... maybe a security measure? (Not sure...) (if you try to do "street view", google maps just shows you some passengers boarding a plane) I'm not exactly a frequent flyer, but the secret is probably to get there early, so there's plenty of time to "check in".
