I used to work around Hampstead 20 years ago, houses were £5/10million then, god knows what they are today £20m I expect 😂.......by the way the closest non primate to humans is the wonderful Cat, 90% DNA share, gotta love cats 😻
_"and they [chimpanzees] are less similar to gorillas"_ We are more closely related to chimpanzees (and bonobos) than gorillas, so in that respect we are _more_ similar rather than less. In fact we are more closely related to chimpanzees than chimpanzees are to gorillas . . . there is an ~8.8% difference in mitochondrial DNA between humans and chimpanzees . . . but a larger 10.5% difference between chimpanzees and gorillas.
Ricky Gervais is so underrated. Like Carlin, he's a philosopher as well as a comedian. Hope you don't mind a few tips: 1. Would prefer you stop the videos each time/before you make a comment (rather than talking over the video - you miss a few things that way). 2. Your voice is much louder than the music on some of your videos (it's especially jarring when one is wearing headphones). Backing away from the mic, or equalizing the balance of your voice and the video would be great. Love your channel/reactions/personality, and the fact that every day you post more videos than any other channel that I've seen!
I noticed the fact that you didn’t react to the word « pint » of milk. In fact, the only two countries in the world that still measure milk in pints are the US and the UK. Hello from Québec 😂
I think it is much more painful to give birth in a hospital where u are stressed out, muscles spasming and ordered to push and think of how to breathe and all that instead of safe at home in the tub taking ur time to get through it It is like the equivalent of trying to work in an office with ur boss hanging over ur shoulder pointing at the screen and talking non stop compared to getting to work calmly I love it that Gervais is just so down to earth that he doesn't feel shame in joking bout his money, he came from a poor family and I don't believe he cares much bout all that money really more than make fun of all this human made idea of fame and fortune
1:43 he says, "So let's take the first of those, birth" ... but the first of those was our parents having sex. So, he is completely out of touch, with himself. Of course most people get crazy awkward cringe talking about their parents having sex, but that's not the point is it?
His observations about similarities between humans & apes (e.g., x% difference or similarity in DNA) may make a good setup for his comedy, but those "facts" don't really mean much except for physical similarities. Humans are *essentially* different from apes or chimps or whatever in that we have intellects, the ability for intellectual knowledge (concepts, judgments, reasoning), and apes et al don't. Animals have sense knowledge; humans have both sense and intellective knowledge. To nitpick a little further, we share the cycle of being born, growing, reproducing, and dying, not only with chimps and such, but with many other animals, such as leopards, pigs, and hippopotami. In the context of his performances, humans understand comedy; apes and all their animal cousins don't.
With the side effects of respitory issues and increased risk of thyroid problems associated with long term use along with the vast resources in water and energy in its cultivation it's not that great for either us or the environment, so really not 'fire'
@@Rallylabs You may not think so, but it is. Check yourself. I quote: 'In the future, scientists hope to be able to use pigs to research medicinal products for human use and develop organs for transplantation in them.' That's why it's possible that our DNA is very similar.
@@rymarkk Chimpanzees and Bonobos are our closest living relatives. Pig DNA is very close behind though. Pigs organs, skin, fat and hair are very similar, but the structure of our bodies, and our behavior is most like the great apes.
It's not that good for adults as we can't digest it well. The reason for it is because we haven't been drinking it for that long, we are better at digesting horse milk or goat milk because historically we have been drinking it much longer. In general full fat cow milk good for kids in development but once you get a bit older your better of with semi skimmed or something different than cow's milk. Also I feel like I might have made some grammatical errors and I apologise for that and my excuse is that English is not my native tongue.
I would really enjoy watching you react to his animated series with Karl and Steve. They are HILARIOUS 🤯🥳🤯🥳🤯🤠
YES!! I couldn't agree more!
"Yes, we all know how close the holes are" 😅 That made me laugh out loud.

Yes regarding the DNA diff. You should watch "Neil deGrasse Tyson | Only 1% Separates our Intelligence from Chimps"
Trust me I lived a few miles from Whitley in Reading he’s not kidding I assure you

The dna percentage is correct.

2:38 not me, i was pulled kicking and screaming out of my mom's sliced open belly.
We are like 90% homologous with a hamster. That last 10% is really important.
The 1% difference from chimps is quite the difference as well. Imagine another life form 1% more evolved than us. We would be like primates to them.

Hi Britt, love all your reactions. Just one question? Why do some of the videos look like we are looking thru a window with rain drops on it?
so she doesnt get a copyright warning 🙂

Percentage genetic similarity is quite misleading. You have to be quite similar to another organism just to be life at all
