      If your trying to get the water to fully boil there is a calculator that will tell the temp it needs to get to under pressure in the pot, because as the pressure goes up so does the boiling temperature for the water.

    These are so cool! I love that you have a camera inside the pressure pot so we can see what happens in there. It's super interesting! Definitely the last one was my favourite, and the bag itself once it collapses inside the resin just looks awesome! Kind of looks like the little goldfish bags from the seaside, where you'd have a little goldfish in water, that might be interesting to cast like this with a little toy goldfish in the water in the bag?

  • @spencerkatty
    @spencerkatty ปีที่แล้ว +4

    #3 was my favorite, followed closely by #2
    I wonder if you could do a slower process of adding layer by layer of resin to a bag (just dip it in as you do other experiments).
    That way it wouldn't have the issue of melting the bag so catastrophically.

  • @mikkohernborg5291
    @mikkohernborg5291 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Might be an idea to glue the bag's opening downwards. Not that it seems to make much difference which way it is oriented really, as often the bubbles are on the side away from it, just above the base layer (guessing the resin hardens from the top, so it’s the easiest way to escape). But it would complete the sideways orientation series, and laying it flat would round it out. That is, if you decide to do more of these.

  • @torydavis10
    @torydavis10 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    If you have the patience for it, I think the move is to freeze up a blue ice cube and see if you can paint a layer of epoxy on it and have it eventually cure in the freezer. You'll probably have to paint it one way, wait, flip it, paint it again, wait again. The waiting could take a day or two each time, if it ever goes. Once it does though, you can let it warm up and you'll have a little epoxy-coated cube of water, which you could give the same treatment you did your bags in this video. Let the pressure off slow after a full cure like the orbees, or better yet do a few so you can vent one violently after cure and vent one violently after set. [edit: perhaps it is smarter to paint the ice cube with uv resin, that might go at mostly normal speed even very cold]

    If you have a heat sealer - like what you use for sealing food - that could give you a absolutely perfect weld seal that will stand up to more pressure than the zip style ones. I bet that would look good.

  • @rendragydna
    @rendragydna ปีที่แล้ว +3

    the change in pressure would likely change the boiling point of the water it would be interesting to see the difference with no pressure pot

  • @TheAruruu
    @TheAruruu ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Suggestion: Get a small beaker or jar, and a smaller bottle. Pour some resin into the jar, then use the bottle to displace the resin to create a chamber in the center. Pressure pot that, allow it to fully cure. Create a base in a mold, much like you did here. Add some dyed water into the resin 'cup', put a solid ring of UV resin on the lip of the cup, then adhere the cup to the base in the mold. Now fill the rest of the mold with resin. The cup should disappear, and give you a nice crystal clear cylinder of water in the middle.
    tl;dr: make a vial from resin, UV resin glue it to a base with some dyed water in it, then fill with resin like normal.

    I don't know if it would boil. You run it at about 45psi. At that pressure, it would increase the boiling point of the water. It'd boil at about 285°F or near 140°C. But if you release the pressure when it's still really hot, it would flash boil into steam and likely crack the epoxy like we've seen it do in past videos.

    Honestly, it looks like the plastic bag is melting inside the resin as it's heating up during the curing process. And in the case of the Orbeez inside the bag in the resin, to me, it looks like the bag melted for the most part, but then suctioned itself around the Orbeez, as well as when you 1st started putting pressure inside the pressure pot, the bag automatically started to suction itself around the Orbeez, before the heat of the resin curing caused the bag to start melting. All in all, with all 3 of the experiments, watching it unfold inside the pressure pot, the effects of the plastic bag melting inside the curing resin was REALLY COOL, as well as in the case of the 1st 2 experiments, watching the plastic bag melt and the water expanding inside the resin, and then when taking the pressure off the pot and watching the steam practically exploding out of the resin from the water boiling while trapping extra water within the resin, was PRETTY FRICKIN' AMAZEBALLS!!!! AWESOME experiment!!!!! I can't sing your praises enough Ben!!!! Keep it up dude!!!!!

    Merry Christmas!
    I like the shapes of the voids in the first two.
    I am also REALLY looking forward to seeing those dragon eggs in person!!!

    You could use that last bag upright technique to make a Santa's sack with little presents in. Would look awesome!

    Always find your voice and videos so relaxing, someone i could totally chill out with on a fishing trip
    maybe double or triple bag the water, and allow water to cool to room temature
    saw someone put a Enclosed Ecosystem Shrimps Bottle in resin.. heat killed them

    Who's not going to love an explosion?
    Great little experiment. What if you tape around four sides of the bag with a very clear strong tape? I love other people's suggestions of coating the small bags in resin before it is put into the main resin. Or putting a resin in the little bags.
    Merry Christmas to you and your family.

    i think the weak spots are the seams of the bag maybe if you tried putting resin all around the seams of the bag before hand might stop the bag from splitting

    I predict an awesome video! 😂 You're still saving your extra resin, aren't you? I hope so! Anyway, I can't wait to see what happens with the water! 😀

    Just had the internet come up after a big cold blast from Canada put our thermometers into negative news numbers and it was well worth the wait! Almost makes me wonder if you could lightly dye the resin brown and the water red and get a volcano effect. Fun experiment and Merry Christmas from North Carolina, U.S.!

    you could cast a hollow cube and put water in it. after you could cast a thin layer to fit over the hole and connect it with uv resin and pour more on top

    Hey Ben
    They were all cool, perhaps the orbs is my favourite. I wonder if you preheat the water before bagging it, it would be quicker to boil?
    Happy New Year to you and yours 🎉
    Thanks for another entertaining year of videos and as always, take care.

    I think it would be cool if you did the orbeez in the bag again but add colored water and a fine powdered glitter in the bag also. Might get a cool reaction when you release the pressure. Thanks for the great video as always!!
