      I’ve been to India twice and while you’re all correct, you don’t go there for the place, but for the people. Hard to believe: but they more than make up for the squalor. They are soooo friendly so caring and so interesting, the photo opportunities, music, and (safe) food, the colors, yes, the smells, the flowers everywhere, it grows on you. Hinduism is a curse and has cursed the culture. But they’re slowly getting out of the worst of its clutches, fleeing to Christianity and western ideas. In all my travels there, and to Pakistan, I’ve never gotten sick.

    Great video...I spent a year in India in 1981-82 on a long backpacking trip when I was in my early 20s. I loved Old Delhi and its confusion, noises, excitement. I remember Chandni Chowk....crazy and wonderful...all at the same time. Funny thing is, it doesnt look very different from when I was there. I love that. I love India....an amazing part of my life.

    Well I visited India this past September of 2017 and spent some days in Delhi and got to go there to this mosque and the craziness, of course not such a clean area but liked it and prefer New Delhi of course which I feel in love and hope to go back soon. Also visited Uttarakhand which is more to the North and it's mountains,its foothills to the Himalayas, its a beautiful place. I feel in love with India and it's people, now the food for me was a bit difficult because I don't like spicy food,but over all India is a gem and has beautiful areas,rich in culture, colors and beautiful people.

    I am based out of NCR, Delhi, but currently watching this video from Montreal, Canada. I have walked across these streets few times to find good places to eat, buy electronics, visited Jama Masjid, sat in autorickshaw too and driven my car during rush hours. Now sitting here at my desk in a hotel in downtown, I feel the difference. I understand how westerners would feel looking at the "mess". But let me tell you one thing. There are some very posh, clean, trendy, uptown areas in and around Delhi too. This particular place is called "old" for a reason. And people from all over India visit this place. Its an old but big commercial hub for all kinds of businesses in spices, clothing, electronics etc. Such places dont exist in developed Western cities. This place has a different charm that is tough to understand.

    • @adrianos7334
      @adrianos7334 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is a difference between old and dangerous. In a lot of Indian parts you feel like anytime a building can colapse on your head, there are simply no building regulations, which makes it extremely dangerous and extremely poluated and extremely dirty. Europe has the oldest cities in the world, but every building is maintained and well kept. Look at the Greek videos, you will not even find a cigaret on the ground, because if you do that, and you get caught, you get a 100€ ($118) fine.

    We went to India 7 years ago. I was 12y old. I don't even remember the beautiful parts of it, the only things I remember were kids of my age playing on a landfull, the waste and stench everywhere. When getting older, I realised that US, Europe, Canada,... sends a lot of their waste to India and the Indian governement is paid much tp process it, but in fact they don't, they can't even process their own waste. They are just putting the money in their own pockets and let their own people living on landfills. I even wonder if our governements are aware of this problem, if they just let the Indian governement filling their own pockets and if they are just closing their eyes, thinking as long as we can get ride of our waste, or if they have no clue what is happening. I wish they saw these videos, because no one should be living like this.
