Wow, we’re spoiled getting the greatest Aviation News anchor. What a treat.
Japan Airlines has history of some pretty devastating crashes, but their crew and employees are in a league of their own. Getting that massive aircraft evacuated in 2 minutes is absolutely crazy.
Great job JAL for training your employees very well!
As for the plugged door incident, they are also on the B737-10 MAX, the A321 NEO, and even the older B737-900ER’s, which never had an incident over 10 years of service. Sad that one thing I never new about these aircraft, I know now because of an incident.
Great news reporting I can count on!
Wasn’t it 18mins for the evacuation bcs some doors were inoperable
They did not evacuate it in 2 minutes or 90 seconds, it took them way longer and the A350 is made of composite matirials so it cna stand fire well so it proberly took about about 1 hour for the plane to end up in a pile of wreckage. I think it took them 18 minutes to evacuate.
Yep. That’s right. I believe if an evacuation is done properly with all doors operational it should be as close to 90. Seconds as possible according to the FAA, at least that’s what the airline should be able to do@@thenetheriteminecart384
it took 6ish I watched it live@@thenetheriteminecart384
True. Finally a news anchor that isn' t going to say "ON THE TARMAC"!!!
As far as i'm aware the captain of the coastguard plane survived, although maybe with severe injuries. Such an unfortunate thing to happen. I read that the NOTAM also said runway entry warning lights were out of order... It always takes more than 1 error to cause these terrible things to happen.
On topic of the news video: great new concept! i like it!
Ah yes, swiss cheese. I didn't know about the runway lights. I had figured it would take more than simple pilot error to cause this, but I guess we'll find out the timeline eventually.
I remember that I got the news of the japan crash, just 1 day before I was about to fly, I got extremely nervous the next day since I'm afraid of flying, I hope the victims of that flight are ok (I didnt search up for that incident because It get me really nervous watching any fly incident)
@@Yerofey_KhabarovsiocmpJKAShmriNot everyone
@@Yerofey_KhabarovsiocmpJKAShmrinot on the dash 8
I was a nervous very flyer too a few years ago but i developed passion for planes and now im still nervous but way less look forward to flying.
Me 3 years ago:"Oh no, turbule i need to tighten my seat belt!" , 2 months ago:"Yeah turbulence, look at the wing flex."
If you are afraid of flying I would recommend watching 74Gear on TH-cam. He does great advice on overcoming the fear of flying. The pilots sped weeks training for any possible scenario while flying, and unlike driving they keep getting tested and trained every year to make sure that they can react to any kind of emergency within seconds. Most deadly crashes were during and before the early 2000s, and 99% of modern crashes are completely survivable.
Hope this helps, stay safe. 👍
@@Yerofey_KhabarovsiocmpJKAShmri5 people died
2:40 - there were 6 crew member on the dash-8, there were 5 fatalities however the captain survived
@giraffeboy120really?
@giraffeboy120 source: trust me bro
@giraffeboy120No he hasn’t.
Fun fact, this is the first video Swiss has made about crashes. Earlier he said he wouldn’t make those kind of videos.
I like ur pfp, one of the best HyperCars
Boeing when the 737max 9 is grounded: Ah s*it, here we go again!
it's only grounded in alaska airlines.
@@pociagowymilosz yeah I know
nope, all 737 max 9s in that configuration with those door plugs are grounded@@pociagowymilosz
@pociagowymilosz In Indonesia Lion air has also grounded 3 of their 737 MAX 9
Actually, there were 5 fatalities in the Coast Guard plane. The captain survived with severe injuries. Additionally, the Dash 8 plane was one of planes that were damaged while in Sendai Airport during the 2011 Tōhuku earthquake and tsunami and was the only one to have been repaired afterwards. There has already been 4 aviation accidents and we are only the last day of January (by the time I am writing this comment).
I was waiting for swiss to talk about this, let's hope this will actually become a series and RIP to the people that died on the Dash-8.
First episode and it already is amazing!!
Can't wait for all the "why you shouldn't fly on aeroplanes" videos on the Internet though 😂
Correction: Actually, only 5 of the 6 people on the DHC-8 were killed.
On the other hand, glad to see you’re making a news series!
correction again, 4 out of 5

Damn
My neighbours have family in the earthquake zone. While they were in Japan visiting them, they actually had to evacuate. It is quite sad as there entire town has been destroyed.
I saw the JAL 516 crash live and it’s amazing how everyone survived in the A350. Rip to the 6 people

Hey Swiss, today is my birthday, and I was super invested in ur video please make more like this, thank u❤
Hb man
This video surprise me. The news video with Swiss001 is not a bad idea. I like it👍. I was expecting 2024 to be a peaceful year for me and especially in aviation but in reality things started going down hill pretty quickly. Indeed started with a bang in Haneda to the grounding of the MAX 9 while SAS is having a different story. I saw that SAS landing at Madeira video and that gave me the chills.
Murphy law.
Happy new year swiss (also will definetly be watching more of weekly swiss news!!!)(love this new addition to the channel)
The A350 airframe is an just an interesting and downright amazing technological advancement that saved the lives of nearly 350 people.
I would absolutely love more videos like this!
Even when the news is less spectacular, it would still be very enjoyable.
Very nice concept Swiss!
My flight headed to Oklahoma on Saturday got cancelled because of the Alaska window blowout. Lucky to get in the rebooking line as after I got there the line grew to probably 150+ people. Glad no fatalities or injuries as well despite the scary pictures !
the fact that i just flew with an a350 recently to japan really makes me more shocked when i saw the news about flight 516 crash. I praised the lords for my safety after that trip
10:14 left hand engine man. Hey I love this series already, can’t we have it twice a week? :)
Yeah it has just not been the year regarding aviation yet there has been many accidents so far in such a short time span
Ngl this was awesome! You should definitely continue this series!
"Classy, Informative, and uh good". 👏Thats all I need to hear!
There was a plane crash in the Caribbean as well involving a private GA aircraft. Everyone on board died.
Definitely a bad start for Aviation 2024
Anyone here under 10 min? I can see a lot also RIP to those on the crashes I can’t imagine how it feels like “OMG IT’S 2024!!” and then soon you end up in heaven…. you can’t even live properly in 2024… RIP 😢
I love this format!!
Swiss I got to put it this way. I swear I have never in my life had watched something soo informative like this in a long time! Amazing work you and your editor🤩
Thanks!! I edit myself tho
Well the editing certainly looks good!
Happy new year Swiss
Ah yes, crashes not even 48 hours in 2024
You forgot about the Christian Oliver accident. He was in a Bellanca 17-30A and they were experiencing issues with plane. Plummeting down into the sea in the Caribbeans.
Jesus. Occasionally i see that video of the delta 1943 flight almost hitting the other plane at jfk, and i always thought "man, i don't think we're ever going to have another runway collision these days with the advancements in technology" but, here we are. It's no tennerife but still tragic and RIP to the 5 people who were killed.
I'm just really grateful that I departed Seattle earlier before this chaos and was on an A321neo instead of the supposed 737 MAX that was originally supposed to be my aircraft.
oh the 737 MAX has some bad problems it shouldn't exist at this point
HAPPY NEW YEARR SWISSS
There was also the British Airways flight attendent that died onboard, and a USAF B-1B Lancer bomber that crashed. Thanks fully, all crew ejected from the aircraft safely.
Surely a tragic start to 2024 in aviation.
Nice video, Swiss! Crazy start to the year indeed
Damn this is amazing Swiss can we get more content like this it’s EPIC!!!
Happy new year Swiss🎉
Hi swiss, I love your videos so much and thank you for giving me more information about the incidents
I like this can’t wait for more of these types of videos
Correction: the pilot of the coast guard plane DID survive with major injuries, everyone else was killed
This is the only news I’m gonna watch now. Thank you Swiss 🙏
2:43 that’s an imprecision, all but one crew members died. The only survivor was the captain onboard the dash 8-300 from the coast guard. May them rest in peace all the crew members that died onboard the 8-300 plane
Happy new year your smile looked so awesome in the start
I would pay to see Swiss cover the news in the world tbh how funny would it be Swiss is the goat best aviation TH-camr one day go to Puerto Rico and review the airports some are interesting
I have a bad feeling about this year...

Ah yes, my favorite news channel.
Great new format, for a hopefully great new Year, full of aviation!
It's sad, the captain did survive the initial accident, I guess the injuries caught up with him. RIP to the crew
I haven't seen anything saying he died
@@joeg5414 me also.
Wait, he did survive.
I am sure that when they join the coast guard, they are prepared for accidents. But sadly not this kind. 😞
Thnx @greenesmcy9617, that's sound like a lucky break for the captain
I love this new swiss001 news channel. However has anyone else noticed the C-3PO Star Wars ANA livery in the camera that filmed the JAL collision. There is also a second special livery too but I am not sure what it is. By the way rest in piece to the crew onbard the coast gaurd dash 8.
All i was thinking while watching the SAS approch was.... SINGS: "YOU CAN ALWAYS GO AROUND!!!"
Goodnight Swiss!! Amazing video as usual, from England!!
This year has had a rough start wish everyone has a good rest of the year Edit: OMG SWISS HEARTED MY COMMENT
the king of aviation is back! happy new year Swiss
The first one is just the Tenerife airport disaster but with modern planes and with landing instead of takeoff
This needs to be a real TV show
Thy lesson has been learned. Dont fly the Max, and you'll be relaxed. ✈
I was in Miami and I saw the last 747 ever built, it had the special livery that you can see in my photos and in the videos of the 747! It was AMAZING
Very great video, I personally would be interested in seeing more such videos from you, hopefully with some better news next week...
This is now my favorite news briefing.
The start of the year is often a bad time for aviation... This year it was these 3 accidents, last year it was yeti Airlines and 2021 saw the Sriwijaya Crash...
Swiss keep up the great work!!
I bet the 25th season of Air Crash Investigation is gonna start with JAL-516
2:44 but I thought that one of the 6 Crew members on the dash survived with severe injuries
They did it was a mistake on Swiss end
@@taca100 ok
2:44 5 crew members died, the captain survived
Nice! Love your "news channel". Will the "news" actually be uploading every week?
🎉 happy new year Swiss
There was also 2 Silver air ATR 72s that had a smaal collision on the taxiway. Also, United and Alaska have found loose bolts on the max 9
HAPPY NEW YEAR
IS THIS THE REAL NIKOLAS SCHMIDT? aint no way
0:29 jokes aside you should totally do aviation news on your channel more regularly it would be fun to watch, especially with that intro!
PLS NEVER STOP MAKING THESE I LIVE FOR YOUR VIDEOS
Nice concept plz continue ❤
Why do I feel like a Swiss001 news channel will be the best thing ever😂
7:46 united found out their emergency door had loose bolts too
Great video.
I may not be that much of an expert, but I would also like to note that the captain of the coast guard plane actually did survive the collision, though they are in critical condition.
The passengers on the JAL after the crash thinking to themselves it was a good thing they watched the safety video and demonstration.
2:53 imagine being atc and watching the plane crash in to a big ball of fire and wait to see people start coming out
I respect your grind researching this! 🙏
this is such an I teresting style. Swiss keep up the good work🎉
something like a weekly aviation news show would be EPIC!
I like the new concept, approved !!
I want more now, great video!
love the series
I was at haneda airport on Jan 1, 2024. The airplane would board at 1:45am. The aircraft we were boarding was an airbus a321neo, by philippine airlines. I was seated at gate 103, where I could see the runway a little bit. Scary thing is, my family wanted to extend one more day. If we had, we couldve felt the earthquake, seen the accident, or couldnt have left due to runway closure. I couldnt have got back to the philippines , close call
Love your channel! man! it sucks how aviation started this year arleady
Sad news but please keep doing this, awesome idea Swiss!
Honestly, Swiss is a better news anchor than anyone else.
Classy, informational and ... Good.
Sounds good to me 😎
2:40
confused cause the dash-8 crew died yet 1 guy survived.
if it was a mistake, alright.
happy new year, Swiss!
I think he was taken to the hospital and later died
@@darrylmiller7413 shit really?
you NEED to keep this going!
Cheers for the info swiss
Please carry on with this !
Swiss 001 I have a question will this be a start of a new series coming to the channel? If so you should add route news
We need the Tagesschau Gong for the Swiss News
I did enjoy it so so so much while waching it. he needs to continiue that for idk a long time
TCAS is disabled below 1000 ft. An ADSB transponder wouldn't have helped
TCAS RA (resolution advisory) is disabled, TA (traffic advisory) should still work. Meaning, you still hear "traffic" callouts, but it will not instruct you to climb/descend.
Really not how I would think of ”new years *fireworks”*
Looking forward for more Aviation News Swiss001!
Swiss001 is funnier than 99% of actual comedians
He tries 😂
