This series is about to be peak youtube gaming fr, I love the TWD franchise and all the tough moral questions this game makes the players think about and choose from (as well as the moments where the choices may not impact the story itself but rather your relationships with the characters going forward) 🙏🏾
Also, early tips/heads up (commenting before watching, in case it gets brought up):
The extra black shading (called “graphic black”) is a part of this series’ remastered bundle, it’s supposed to emphasize the comic book artstyle/aesthetic since these games take place in The Walking Dead’s COMIC BOOK universe that started in 2003, not the AMC TV universe based on the show that started in 2010 (some of the characters here that people may recognize from the show like Hershel and Glenn are actually the OG comic versions of the charcters, before they are introduced in the story). If you don’t like the shading though, there’s the option to turn that off in the graphics settings.
Also, with all the games included here, there are 23 episodes in total. To play chronologically (by release order), you’d go:
Season 1 (5 episodes + 1 DLC episode)
Season 2 (5 episodes)
Michonne Mini-Series (3 episodes)
Season 3 [A New Frontier] (5 episodes)
Season 4 [The Final Season] (4 episodes)
The Michonne Mini-series is a completely seperate thing to the storyline that follows the four main seasons, since it focuses on Michonne from the TWD comics and her whereabouts/story during a certain point in the comics where she was gone. Compared to the other games it is technically skippable or could be played last (rather than as a break between the main seasons), but I do think it’s a bit underrated and would still be fun to watch you play 💯

The game looks as dark themed because you have the Definitive edition. It's an art style they used in Season 4 that they offered to all the other seasons in the Definitive edition. You can turn off the art style and revert to the 'Old School' looks if you would like. Personally I like the old look better because a lot of things are easier to see.

there not similar at all. lee is very kind and (if you choose to be) honest from the start. joel is an emotionally closed off survivor with immense skill and anger. clem is a mild mannered 8 year old who doesn’t like swear words and speaks quietly, who can’t survive for herself. ellie is a loud outspoken 14 year old who swears like a sailor and speaks her mind. she also took on a full crew of the salt lake camp by herself. i’m only getting toward the end of ep3 season one (i think i’m close, at least) so that might change, but for now you’re capping on your rapping

Season 1 Episode 1 is so special and the best episode of Telltale Walking Dead, imo. Not only is it big, it switches around environments, from the expansive farm to the claustrophobic drugstore, all the while giving a flurry of emotions as you get to meet the eclectic cast.
