Agreed. Definitely hesitancies I had. I dig it though. After using it on a few shoots going from standing to sitting to angling this in a car (did this yesterday) its a pretty versatile set of sticks.
Thanks! Its a super fun space. In the middle of nowhere which is nice ha. Agreed - Id maybe run a Komodo or FX6 on it, but I dig it for small stuff/anytime Im using the FX3.
Good review, this tripod just seems to live in a bit of a grey area. For a $800 video focused tripod you would expect it to be serviceable, have a 75mm ball head and extend more than 5.5ft. At 8.8lbs it's not light and at 32" folded it's not all that portable. For the money, getting into any 75mm system is going to be a better long term investment as tripods are often one of those pieces of gear that if you buy a good quality pair of sticks, they are going to last you 10+ years.
Thats a super solid take and for the most part I agree, however if you, like me want to film yourself often and fast - theres no better bang for buck imo. I think this sits nicely in more of the 'creator' space for people filming themselves or doing more social content work for clients, than it would a traditional production. I wouldnt put a RED on this or a much bigger kit than a built up FX3. It has drastically reduced the time it takes me to setup different shots when filming myself and for filming small interviews.
3 out of 5 star reviews on B&H. $800 is a lot for a tripod.

Great video, and love the shooting space. Seems like a good content creator tripod, but definitely too light weight for production use.

Well yeah but it doesn't matter anymore.
