At 67 years young I’ve purchased a KTM RC390. Certainly not the fastest or most comfortable bike I own, but it puts a smile on my face every time I ride it. And isn’t that what it’s all about?!
At 62 now ,and over 42 years of riding. I own several bikes , in fact I am a custom bike builder . Taught to ride by a big Kawasaki fan . Fan of especially of any inline 4 , Japanese bikes of the 70's and 80's . I grew to love them as well!!! For the last 20 years I've only owned Harley's. Still always fantasizing of the good old days ...light quick smooth and satisfying inline 4 dream ...FOUND IT PURCHASED A 2019 Z900 RS CAFE LIME GREEN BANSHEE FROM HELL ...ITS ALL I RIDE AND MY HEART BEATS FASTER JUST THINKING ABOUT IT...THESE BIKES ARE LIVING LEGENDS
Am 66 and been riding my Z900RS since 2018...love watching EICMA videos and wonder what the new bikes would be like...especially the RNines, Bonnevilles, and the XSR900s...but I also wonder what being with Sophia Loren or Raquel Welch would be like too...yet the Mrs. and the Z900RS always bring me back to reality and all I really need is more time with them...ride safe and look through your turns
I also have an XSR900 , it is quite a panic as just crazy fast, but the z900 can hold it's own with it. Beyond the speed limit, is your license floating away. The XSR900 will be sold, the z900rs will remain until my bones are too old to ride.
@@rtzzz9772 Whilst I will keep my XSR900 (Velocity Moto LC build) til I can no longer safely ride it, when my CB500 commuter will take over full time until I can't ride that any longer (will probably change it by then for a 350)
I nearly bought an XSR900 back in 2018 - it was a close thing. The XSR seemed a fraction more lively, but loved the bike (the new one 's looks just don't do it for me). Cheers.
I'm 68 and riding a 2008 Harley Low Rider, my third one. I'm very fit and healthy but I'm now finding it heavy. The Kawasaki Z900RS is top of my list for the spring. I have very fond memories of two Honda 750 fours that I had in my youth. It's time to go back.
Yes, those Honda CB 4s were lovely bikes - and they spawned the original Kawi Z1B 900. You'll enjoy the Z900RS it feels light and easy to ride. Cheers.
Mine's a 865 Bonneville and I couldn'ty be happier. I agree with all you say about age and time (I'm 67) and finding those moments alone with my machine, a precious reminder of that fact. Thank you for vocalising that.
Old Age = more wisdom. Downsizing = better control. Big/Fast/Scary bikes? Been there. Happy now with my 650 WEE Strom. Enjoy the scenery on your videos as it brings back memories of the years I spent on Vancouver Island in the late 60's, and early 70's.
Im 36 and own a royal enfield scram 411. Ive ridden all types of bikes but this it for me. The long stroke sound a ease of riding, go slow, feel fast and enjoy every moment. Royal enfield are building a culture that gets it. I hope they stick to it.
I started riding at 16, I am 57 now and is still riding, I am perfectly happy with my V-Strom 650 XT (made in year 2022 from Japan), 645cc is more than enough power for me, I like the look of the bike, the blue colour fuel tank & wheel rim, the sound of the V-twin engine, music to my ears ..... ahh.... life is good
My little Versys 300x is a blast. Like my old Miata, I can use all the power it has a wind through the country roads with a big smile... without feeling dangerous and without getting speeding tickets
I bought a 500X three years ago. It is the best touring bike I’ve ever owned despite its 47 BHP and its fuel economy is legendary. I loved the ST1300 Pan European I had before it but since buying the smaller bike my annual mileage has doubled.
@@davidmatthews3093 Good on you! Did you check out the NX500 yet? Very pretty bike!!! I get 31 km/L on fuel consumption with my CB500F (yeah, yeah must be my skinny butt helping! 😃 ) and I'm not crawling at 20km/h to get it. I wish you many, many more trouble miles brimming with heaps of fun and enjoyment.
All us older riders can agree and appreciated where you are coming from. I totally connect with your thoughts… Mine nowadays is a Royal Enfield Bullet 500. Slow, torquey and feels so dated in every respect despite only being 7 years old. Would I have purchased it and enjoyed years ago? No probably not and ironically for the reasons why not is the exact reasons why I utterly love it nowadays. No longer do I desire going super fast and taking pride in wearing out the very edge of the tyre treads though extreme corner lean. Now I am older I enjoy the bike in every respect and embrace it’s limitations, a nice relaxed none urgent ride suits my thrills. Time to enjoy, relax and take in the surroundings!!! Just can’t get enough of it!!!!
Im 64 , own 16 bikes mainly 70s)Japanese classics under 600c now , had bigger faster bikes and did track days , but I moved from the UK to Austria 4 years ago and my pace of life slowed down and the roads here are twisty so a big fast bike wasn’t needed, my most used bike is a royal Enfield classic 350 reborn , and it’s just perfect for here , the most relaxing type of riding enjoying the scenery rather than it being a blur !
Im only 35 and in my twenties I jsed to love sport bikes and high speed rides. Now I love classic bikes that I can ride peacefully without the bike asking to be revved to the limit.
I’ve taken your mindset to an even further place. Bought myself a new Kawasaki W800 and it’s been incredible. The 50hp may seem low but it’s all usable and gets me to 120kph without much effort when the situation calls for it. Most rides I go on do not see me going over 100kph and the bike excels at that range. The feeling, the sound, the vibrations the 773cc air cooled, 360° crank parallel twin delivers is a thrill. A solidly built bike that gets me so many comments, folks are surprised it’s a new bike, most think it’s an old Triumph or BSA. My wife purchased a Speed Twin 900 and we ride together, it’s been a great first year on our bikes.
I only have one bike I regret selling - it was my 2000 W650. Loved that bike. I will likely get something like it again in the future. Enjoy (I'm slightly envious!).
Hi Clanky. My 2022 red W800 looks suspiciously like a 1969 red Bonneville. Right down to the black side covers like the old Triumph. I can't go anywhere on it without someone asking about it and I have not seen another one on the road in 2 1/2 years of riding it. Such a wide torque band. I can putt around at 50kph in 5th gear and just roll on to 100kph without shifting and still be faster that all the cars. Like you most of my riding is 80-100kph but it does surprisingly well at 120kph on the four lane highways. Easy and fun to ride even at legal speeds. I don't need 100+hp to enjoy riding. Legal speeds are actually fun on this bike. It has enough power for anything I will throw at it. It is fast enough to lose your license on however, if that's what you want to do. Bob in Ottawa
Started motorbiking in 1969 on a Honda Super Hawk 305 and moved on to larger displacements in the last 55 years. In 2020 I bought a 115cc Honda scooter for putting around town and it's been my favorite ride ever since. I like the fact that I can ride full throttle 90% of the time and not worry about a speeding ticket or getting in over my head. A different kind of fun.
Had all sorts of bikes over a 50 year period. Done silly speeds, now, I have a KTM 790 Duke & a Yamaha Tracer 700. Both twins, with a lovely character to them. They’re enough for me now, not so heavy as my BMW before and give me loads of pleasure. Happy days
Beautifully put together video. Great camerawork, and the music suits the mood so well. And I agree with the sentiment. Time is so precious - make the most of it! Cheers. Jonathan.
I downsized from a Ducati Monster 1200 to a Aprilia Tuareg 660, and I love my new bike. I can do trails, gravel roads and even considering putting on stud tires for the winter.
I'm 74 and just started riding after a 20 year hiatus. I purchased a CFMoto 450nk that offers me everything I really want in a bike at this point in my life. It's an easy going cruiser with enough spunk to spark a bit more enthusiasm for getting out of tight places quickly. Great looks, great sound, very responsive if you let it. Respectable gas milage and standard service intervals. Also, very comfortable for longer rides. The best seat and sitting ergonomics I have experienced. Really good brakes and handling. Very good electronics package and TFT display. Anything missing... well the addition of cruise control would be nice, plus a decent windscreen option to keep the wind noise down, and a back rack for side bags and top box would be nice to tour with. But most of those things are very affordable and available in the Chinese aftermarket. Also, CFMoto parts are very reasonable providing they are available. It's not perfect, but it comes pretty close imo. Do I desire another bike? Yes, even smaller and slower bikes are more appealing for even more casual riding. As the demographics of riders changes (read: as riders get older) they don't want super fast and super heavy bikes they can't pickup anymore. Lighter and lower becomes better and more fun. Gord
I started my motorcycle journey with a Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, couldn't be happier, pure pleasure, beginner friendly, it has all what you need and nothing more. Because of the dense traffic in my area and the speed regulations, next to my skills, for me a more powerful bike doesn't make any sense. I think I am so lucky to have bought the first bike wich is going to be my forever bike. Probably not the only bike, but will keep it till the end of days.
A nice peaceful Friday morning vid with my coffee. Thanks for posting. I'll stick with my 2020 650 V-Strom for the same reasons (for now anyways). I could probably have as much fun on something else but someone once told me that "the best bike is the one you own and love to ride".
Just turned 60. Flying my ZX14R makes me appreciate my M109R, and floating on the M109R makes me appreciate my ZX14R. Love each of them. With hard bags on the M109R and a nice tail bag on the ZX14R, I avoid my car unless it’s raining. Riding with hi-fidelity ear buds brings a peace that turns the world off for a while…priceless.
52 years of continuous riding for me. Own 850 commando, 22 model z900rs , 2019 triumph street triple 765r. I could easily live with just the 765r , nippy and light it definitely has the x factor !!
Last ride was 1985 on a Honda 400T then at 72yrs purchased a new Kawasaki Z 650RS only just found its limits after 4000 kilometres so Ive got the right bike. Lotsa fun
Hope you’re enjoying the ride. 650 is a great engine size. I had an older Z650, back around 1982, can’t remember its model year. But it was a nice ride.
67 year old ex sports bike rider. Now with an NC750X. Best bike I've owned in relation to a moment in time. Lots more touring ,camping trips as well. A very underestimated M/C. Strange, you know when it's time. Great production mate. Cheers from New Zealand
Now there' a place I'd like to ride. Watch a guy on the south island on a Griso - "Little Ghost Griso". Enjoy watching the scenery, he camps a lot too. Cheers.
I have one as well and it is way more fun than any stats would have you believe. I have another one which is much musclier, but the NC750X is still as fun, just in another nimble, comfortable way.
I got my bike licence (UK so it’s a bit of an epic quest) at 53 and bought a Ducati Scrambler 800. It’s more than fast enough for my needs and I love it. But I have to say your Z900RS with that fairing is tugging at my heart!
Well said. Too many focus on stuff rather than time well spent. As a retired financial adviser I saw so many folks struggling with breaking the shackles of their work because their self image was so wrapped up in what they do rather than who they are. Time is indeed your most valuable asset. These days the idea of hopping on a DS and heading up into the bush for some fishing is way more interesting to me than testing my limits on pavement.
Couldn’t agree more, beautiful Kawasaki too! I have a Norden 901 and plenty for me to travel around New Hampshire (US) on any kind of road or trail. I have thought for a while now that a Z900RS would make a great pair. Nice video, thank you for sharing, and safe travels.
Great video. Well done. At 67, I’ve downsized this year to a Kawasaki Z900RS as well to rekindle the joys, emotions and passion for motorcycling. I’ve kept my ZZR1400 that I’ve had for the last 12 years and now just cherish the memories of riding it. My third bike is a 48 year old Suzuki GT750 that starts on the first push of the button and brings many memories from the days when I had my last one and the small bikes before that. Keep enjoying it.
The journey and the machine change over time. Some people resist and others evolve. I'm a huge fan of your bike and currently own a 2005 zrx1200r (owned since new). My wife bought me a 2022 BMW r1250gs to finish my joy of riding on. At 67 years of age and 53 years of riding I think the BMW provides the perfect platform for me. I've only been on one long journey (1500 mile round trip) and that was on a Kawasaki 550 back in 1983. My rides now are usually about a hundred miles or so on peaceful Sunday mornings.
Yep - I'm with you. My V7 850 Stone is perhaps one of my favourite bikes ever. It just works for me with its 65 Bhp it is fast enough to be fun without scaring me silly. 😉
As I was approaching 70 my Yamaha 1300 was feeling a bit too heavy for my tired old knees, I switched her out for the Honda ADV150- wish I went the scooter route years ago!
Man, I'm 70 been riding dirt bikes, three wheelers, quads, dual sport bikes for over 40 years, I have a bad back and a colonoscopy, finally traded in my KLR650 and got a new Polaris sportsman 570 quad, at least I can still ride !
I’m 79 and my ride it’s a Kawa Versys 650 2008 and I love it. Having had many big bikes in the past like CB1000, CB750 K1, V-Max and many others, but the 650 it’s my bike, specially for a country like Colombia where a had lived this last 32 years. Thanks for the video.
64 yrs old many bikes over the years. I picked up 83 r65 a few yrs ago. I have had more pleasable riding on that little boxer than i ever would have imagined. It sits next to a 76 t140 that I take out for short romps. Im planning on adding a V7 850 special round out the stable.
I have a 2017 GRiSO that is a true (to my eyes) motorcycle. I'm 72, that bike puts a smile on my face every ride. My other bike is a BMW R1250RS, a contrast in rider amenities for sure. Between the two I put on 18,500km last season. Winter in Alberta seems so long...
I bloody loved that. I'm about to take my CBT, and can't wait to start riding. I've always had cars, usually fast ones. The past fews years I've noticed a big change. I recently owned a truck, now I have a motorhome. I love the sensation of just driving, feeling the road, and really enjoying myself. I cant wait for the next chapter( I've just turned 58).
here here, I agree with your sentiments. The big z is still one of my most favorite for many of the very same reasons you mentioned. Lusted for Z900 as a young kid. Now that I am able to own one, I cherish the experience and it is never to get "there" as quickly as possible, it is instead now, just to get there, enjoying every second, and many times I purposely drive it slowly, just to extend that time.
Yes, take the long way home - I get it. Love the ZRS - nearly bought a Z1B before Kawasaki released the Z900RS. It would have been a lot of work, fun, but a lot of work. Fortuitiously, Kawasaki released the Z900RS just in time. Glad I used my time to ride instead. Cheers.
great video! im 65 and made a living in motorcycle service. ive always owned modest bikes, but am really enjoying a 2004 ZRX1200R that i bought recently
Bought my 1190Adv 11yrs ago. Not much in that segment to choose from at that time. Now at 66yrs of age and 125 000km later it has faithfully carried me all over Europe and USA. We have spent countless evenings at campfires, experienced all kinds of weather, been to such fantastic places. Too many memories together. Can't part now.
That last shot!! you got it at just the right angel LOVE IT...I'm 47 live in Southern California, I have a 2022 Z900rs Cafe got it brand new and have enjoyed every minute of ownership. Great VIDEO
I made a switch to something totally out of my usual riding style. A Honda X-ADV 750, and after 3 years of ownership, my next bike would probably be another one. It has all the power i will ever need, has more comfort than i've ever experienced on a bike before and it has lots of storage built in which i have never had the luxury of before. And it will go anywhere! I 've ridden down roads i wouldn't dared too on all my previous bikes. what an adventure i'm having with it!
I have a 16 vision no trunk and is the most comfortable with backrest. Also 16 hammer lighter and feels cool riding and not boring. If downsize I would do Triumph 800.
Sold my Ducati Scrambler and I miss it. Still own a 20 year old Harley Fat Boy and just love it. 77,000 flawless miles. I’d like to try a Triumph speed master one day.
Time and taking the time to enjoy it......talking my language there. I have the best time on my 250L. I've not ever had a bike that has brought me so much joy and so many smiles. Great video.
Very nice video. As I get older, I've been thinking similarly. For me, what makes me smile is a Harley. Not the fastest by any means, but its vibration and comfort puts a smile on my face and let's me take in the scenery and appreciate the beauty of the outdoors. The low seat height make it an easy-to-get-along with ride. Not cheap and not small or light, but a real joy, at least to me. Folks who haven't tried one should do so. They are a window into a less (performance) is more (joy) experinece. All the best.
@BlueMarbleRider yes sir, just shy of 90,000 km now. I'm going to pull the engine out this winter and strip it down to the frame and give a good once over, do the valves again, clean everything change all the fluids etc... looking forward to it.
Not going to balance the throttle bodies though :-). Haven't got to mine yet, thinking late Jan... - should have the dexterity in my thumb by then. Glad to hear you still have it. Cheers.
Great video. I currently ride and love my 2024 Speed 900. It almost has too much power. It begs me to return to my risk taking youth. Being 65 years old and at last count this new bike being number 48, I can say with certainty that I appreciate the laid back journey now. Oh sure, I’ve had bikes that could hit ridiculous speeds and handle like moto GP machines, but I was young and full of it. During my long biking career, I can reflect on the bikes that really hit home with me. 2 Bonneville T100’s. A CB400F. A Honda SL70 as a pre teen. So when I retired and moved to Ontario Lake country from Calgary Alberta I sold my Concours14 and bought a boat. I soon found out that the urge to ride again was too great. The 900 fits the bill and I love it.
That Trumpet 900 is a nice bike - I've often admired them and the 1200, but as you say, getting older like we are, the 900 is likely the better choice. I always liked that CB400F - what a hoot. Never got to own one, but always admired them. Thanks for the story. Cheers.
Fantastic video! I really enjoy riding my 2017 T120, but I would love to also have my first bike, a 1971 Yamaha 200 CS-3. I have so many good memories of the fun and freedom that bike provided.
I'm 64 now and still ride, when my back injury allows, a BMW S1000xr not letting that one go just yet for a smaller bike but I would welcome a something like a Yamaha XS650 as a second fun bike in the garage 😎😎😎
Yep, got myself a 19' RS Cafe, green of course (ha), and after decades of motocross, offroad, sport bikes, now 52 .. I am so happy with the Z. Fantastic motorcycle.
I traded in my MT07 for a ZX4RR. Love this bike. Less horse power and torque but so much more fun. I also traded in a 2018 Street glide for a 2022 Heritage Classic. It is 100 lbs lighter and more comfortable.
Love the one you're with. I'm the custodian of a relatively new 26 year old Harley FXDL. It's my third Harley since 1988. Poor image quality short on my channel,it's more like a carnival ride than a motorcycle. Fast, you can never get enough of what you don't want,FZR1000 genesis taught me that in 1987.
My daily rides range from Royal Enfield 500, Kawasaki Z900RS SE , Thruxton R and Tiger 900. I'm happy zone for horsepower ranges from 25 to 100. Weight from 400 to 500 pounds. I still dabble with drag racing and land speed racing so more horsepower is better and I lean towards 160 to 260 horsepower machines. At 71 my general street riding is at a much more relaxed pace than when I was younger. I think if you had a speedy youth you never totally lose the itch but you don't have to scratch that itch every ride down a city street.
Im 58 and 2 years ago i brought a new Ninja 400. Awesome little bike and i have a ball on it. The other bike is a 170hp beast sits in the garage looking at me.
Nice video. 57yo. Had a few 100 hp plus motorcycles(V Max, ZX9, others) and a KLR 650. Up to over 600lb. I now ride a Yamaha TW 200 that weighs 280 pounds wet and I’ve never had more fun.
Thanks. The TW makes my top 12 bikes of Christmas list this year (last week's video...) It's a common story with age. I find myself looking more and more towards the lighter side. Cheers.
I’ve got a 124 cube Harley, 2017 Triumph bobber and a 2016 RE Classic Chrome 500 and out of the three I tend to be drawn to the Classic 500 most times. As everyone says, smiles for miles! 👍🏼
A very mature perspective on life indeed, time is the most expensive commodity. At 72 my ride is a 400 cc Piaggio scooter it’s what makes it happen for me 😊
CBF250! Does all I want a bike to do. Sits on the average country speed limit (100kmh in Australia) with ease. Is incredibly economical, nimble, great handling, reasonably comfortable and purrs almost like a twin its so smooth. (Balance shafts help, plus DOHC) Stock exhaust keeps it quiet (nothing to prove at this end of the spectrum) Overall! A Great bike for my 64 kg frame and tad under 6 foot.
That's a characterful single. Glad you're enjoying it - I think the boomers enjoyed excess and drove the market to that end of the spectrum (in everything they did). If I'm right in assuming you're younger than me, then it sounds like your generation is re-discovering that bigger is not better. Thanks for the comment.
As a 67 yo owner of the Z900RS, I can't imagine wanting a motorcycle that will be faster or quicker off the line. I crank the throttle on mine and have to hang on for dear life!
I passed my bike test aged 45 and went straight to a big cruiser as a promise to my wife that I wouldn’t be riding 200bhp crotch rockets…16 years later I’ve notched up a lot of miles touring around Europe and a trip to Nevada/California and love the feeling of really going somewhere new…travelling to a destination I don’t know rather than just pootling around familiar roads. At 61 I recognise that my 340kg BMW K1600 Bagger might soon become too heavy for me but, for now, it’s the ultimate uber cool touring machine.
I’ve ridden a variety of bikes over the years. Everything from a z125 to a s1000rr. My absolute favorite is my 09 ZX6R that I’ve had since it was new. I just love the middleweight bikes. I recently bent a valve with a bit over 45k miles on it. I’m seriously considering switching up to a 2024 XSR900. I test rode it and loved it.
I am really interested in the Royal Enfield Bear. It's not the fastest thing out there, but I also like riding the back and dirt roads here in New England. There is plenty of push for a day's worth there. I will also ride my Sportster on long trips most laugh at me for. I have the big baggers down to a CB450 K7 that is just fun to ride.

At 67 years young I’ve purchased a KTM RC390. Certainly not the fastest or most comfortable bike I own, but it puts a smile on my face every time I ride it. And isn’t that what it’s all about?!
It’s the smile that matters. Cheers.
The RC390 is a legendary motorcycle
55 this year and I am going to get one RC.
At 74 I've learnt, love the bike you ride, ride the bike you love whatever it is.
Good point.
Wise words...
True wisdom
Same is true with a wife
Hit the nail on the head

Saw a lime green Cafe a couple of days ago - gorgeous to look at. Glad you found your groove again. Cheers.
Senior here. I love in-line fours also.
I think all of us older riders can appreciate what you are saying and can connect with your thoughts.

I know exactly what you mean! There are so many beautiful bikes out there - but that feeling you get when you're riding yours is hard to beat.
I nearly bought an XSR900 back in 2018 - it was a close thing. The XSR seemed a fraction more lively, but loved the bike (the new one 's looks just don't do it for me). Cheers.
You are so right. As a 60 year old rider I treasure my time with my family and riding my Moto Guzzi V7 Stone. It puts everything in perspective.
Came for the motorcycling, stayed for the philosphy.
Kudos
P.s. where is that at the end??
Lovely stuff
Marina Way beach access, Parksville, BC. Cheers.
The RE's are certainly making a splash - like you, I hope they stay true to their roots, and keep producing the bikes they are.
I am 100% happy with my Bonneville.
I started riding at 16, I am 57 now and is still riding, I am perfectly happy with my V-Strom 650 XT (made in year 2022 from Japan), 645cc is more than enough power for me, I like the look of the bike, the blue colour fuel tank & wheel rim, the sound of the V-twin engine, music to my ears ..... ahh.... life is good
You can't beat a good V-twin.
From one TH-camr to another i found this to be a great reminder.........! Thx you..
Cheers! Glad you enjoyed it. Thank you.
My little Versys 300x is a blast. Like my old Miata, I can use all the power it has a wind through the country roads with a big smile... without feeling dangerous and without getting speeding tickets
I just bought it a little 500 CC. Honda called the scrambler, and I love it. It has a whopping forty seven horsepower
That's a nice bike, i have the naked bike sibling. That 47 horses got me a whopping painful speedfine and demerit points the other day...
"and embrace its limitations" - a great comment - I wish I had thought of that for the video. Cheers.
I’m 74 and currently ride a Kawasaki ZX-14R but I love the retro naked bikes from Triumph and particularly love the Z900RS.
It’s getting to be a harder choice between a big tourer and a retro, as the retros are getting more capable every year. Cheers.
@johnrees261 ZX-14R is a helluva bike, and a surprisingly good daily rider
Im 64 , own 16 bikes mainly 70s)Japanese classics under 600c now , had bigger faster bikes and did track days , but I moved from the UK to Austria 4 years ago and my pace of life slowed down and the roads here are twisty so a big fast bike wasn’t needed, my most used bike is a royal Enfield classic 350 reborn , and it’s just perfect for here , the most relaxing type of riding enjoying the scenery rather than it being a blur !
What a great place to ride! Like the lake district on steroids! I can see a classic 350 in my future too. Thanks for the comment.
Im only 35 and in my twenties I jsed to love sport bikes and high speed rides. Now I love classic bikes that I can ride peacefully without the bike asking to be revved to the limit.
You matured early ;-)
I love my street twin.
@@Bob-xc2usgood to know there’s at least 2 of us in Ontario! 😂
@@clanky44 What part of Ontario are you in Clanky?
Loved this video. I totally get it. I'm also a Z900RS owner. Perfect bike for me.
From the zen bike to the zen scooter. Sounds like a great journey. Thanks.
Amen Brother!! I can relate- well said and much appreciated, this commentary calmed me down. I did laugh in complicity more than once. Peace.
Cheers! Glad I could be of service.
I love my bmw 400gt scooter. I am 71 it has enough power to cruise 75 mph effortlessly but can top out at 90 mph . It is such a relaxing ride
Cheers.
Jonathan.
Thanks - I really appreciate it. Glad you enjoyed it!
I downsized from a Ducati Monster 1200 to a Aprilia Tuareg 660, and I love my new bike. I can do trails, gravel roads and even considering putting on stud tires for the winter.
Agree, sometimes less is truly more. Cheers.
Pure happiness!
Gord
Thanks for the comment, Gord. I can see myself going smaller in the not too distant future. Cheers.
I'm 73 and the love of my life {these days} is my 2017 Guzzi V7 special, such unique bikes.
I also have a V7, a jewel of a motorcycle.
I bought a V7 850 a little over a year ago, one of my favorite bikes (after 40 years of riding).
It's a bike I really enjoyed and like you, could see it in my garages for good. Cheers.
A nice peaceful Friday morning vid with my coffee. Thanks for posting.
I'll stick with my 2020 650 V-Strom for the same reasons (for now anyways). I could probably have as much fun on something else but someone once told me that "the best bike is the one you own and love to ride".
It's the best advice - ride what you love and it will always feel good. Cheers.
How is buying a £12,000 motorcycle "downsizing"?
Didn’t hear any chat about $. He talked about cc. Easy to understand, I would have thought?
Just turned 60. Flying my ZX14R makes me appreciate my M109R, and floating on the M109R makes me appreciate my ZX14R. Love each of them. With hard bags on the M109R and a nice tail bag on the ZX14R, I avoid my car unless it’s raining. Riding with hi-fidelity ear buds brings a peace that turns the world off for a while…priceless.
I'm 43. I think I'm headed in your direction if I can keep working until I'm your age. Or if I can live thar long. I love your taste in bikes❤
52 years of continuous riding for me. Own 850 commando, 22 model z900rs , 2019 triumph street triple 765r. I could easily live with just the 765r , nippy and light it definitely has the x factor !!
Spot on, at 61 this resonates.
I'm 66 and recently bought a CF Moto 450N and it's the most fun I have had on a bike since I was 16 and owned my first bike a Yamaha 100RS.
Honda CB300r, all the power, none of the weight, handles beautifully.
20 odd bhp utterly misesrble
An utterly brilliant bike. I’ve had every size there is and I think this is now my favourite bike.
It's 31 hp, and weighs 313 lbs with a full tank of gas. Showa forks. Go ride one. Plus they are less than 5 grand out the door, and get 75mpg.
Thank you for taking the time and making the effort to share your experience and perspective. I am very grateful that you did.
I en
Been riding over 50 years. So well said!!!!!
Having this motorcycle that’s just right for you helps puts many things in life into perspective !
I got my bike licence (UK so it’s a bit of an epic quest) at 53 and bought a Ducati Scrambler 800. It’s more than fast enough for my needs and I love it. But I have to say your Z900RS with that fairing is tugging at my heart!
Congrats, sir. Both lovely bikes.
Thanks. I also enjoy getting out to fish in the bush - where I find time becomes less relevant. Cheers.
Both great bikes!
I love the glorious shine on those headers! Thank you for the insights you shared.
Me too. Thanks for the feedback.
So happy to have found a kindred spirit so close by. I'm in Nanoose Bay and will keep an eye out for you.
As will I for you. What are you riding so I can wave?
@@BlueMarbleRider usually I'm on my stratoliner but come the spring look for a 1976 Honda four hundred four. Cheers.
Love it. My first bike was a Suzi GT125 twin - blue. Loved it. Wish I still had it (RAM air and all!).
Sounds like a great setup you have there! I'm going to show this to my wife :-)
49 and Bought an Indian Chief Bobber. Love it.
My second bike, purchased brand new, was a 1976 Kawasaki K900. I was 19 years old. I'm riding a 2022 r1250gs for now.
Got back into riding 2 years ago. My R9T is my therapy. I love having something different.
I can see why you enjoy a bike like that.
Yep - I'm with you. My V7 850 Stone is perhaps one of my favourite bikes ever. It just works for me with its 65 Bhp it is fast enough to be fun without scaring me silly. 😉
I'm glad you have a bike you love. Slow and steady for sure.
I currently ride a 98’ Valkyrie F6C.
How much I relate to this video! 👍🏻
So glad!
Thank you for your nice words!! it made my day during a tough time!!
Glad to hear it helped. Hope things are improving for you. Cheers.
As I was approaching 70 my Yamaha 1300 was feeling a bit too heavy for my tired old knees, I switched her out for the Honda ADV150- wish I went the scooter route years ago!
Neevesy - cheif road tester from MCN says his favourite bike is a scooter... So there you go! :-)
Thanks Luis.
64 yrs old many bikes over the years. I picked up 83 r65 a few yrs ago. I have had more pleasable riding on that little boxer than i ever would have imagined. It sits next to a 76 t140 that I take out for short romps. Im planning on adding a V7 850 special round out the stable.
You have excellent taste in motorcycles - I think we'd get along just fine!
It gets better :-)
@@BlueMarbleRider 👍🏻👍🏻
here here, I agree with your sentiments.
I do like the ZRX1200R - reminds me of the old GPZ s from the 80s. Lovely.
54 looking to get into motorcycling, this is the vibe I was searching for… thanks for the upload, it’s been quite helpful.
You are going to love it. Enjoy the journey!
Glad you have found the ride for you. There's nothing like a bike that gets under your skin. Cheers.
That last shot!! you got it at just the right angel LOVE IT...I'm 47 live in Southern California, I have a 2022 Z900rs Cafe got it brand new and have enjoyed every minute of ownership. Great VIDEO
Thanks, I love photography and cinematography, so I appreciate that. Cheers.
I’m 64, Road King with hard bags for storage and a windshield for wind protection and classic good looks works for me :)
Contentment is the richness of life. Just do you.
Time and taking the time to enjoy it......talking my language there.
I have the best time on my 250L. I've not ever had a bike that has brought me so much joy and so many smiles.
Great video.
Cheers Critter. Agree, slow and steady wins the race for me too.
The older I get, the more I value that... The Griso isn't a million miles away. Cheers.
I hit that like button as soon as I hear that kawi start up 😍
Hi, KB - do you still have yours?
@BlueMarbleRider yes sir, just shy of 90,000 km now. I'm going to pull the engine out this winter and strip it down to the frame and give a good once over, do the valves again, clean everything change all the fluids etc... looking forward to it.
Not going to balance the throttle bodies though :-). Haven't got to mine yet, thinking late Jan... - should have the dexterity in my thumb by then. Glad to hear you still have it. Cheers.
2024 Suzuki GSX 8R and a Honda Grom. Living my best life at 56 years old. Love the video.
Absolutely. I’ve held a motorcycle license for 62 years now and I’ve ridden too many bikes to remember. Duke390 is my latest. Character in spadefuls!
Lots of people mentioning the KTM 390 platform. Must be something too it!
The XSR 650 was a great bike. Certainly encouraged a slower pace, but with lots of vertical twin character. Thanks for the comment.
66 yrs old and I ride a 2013 Suzuki CT90 Boss and love it.
at 41 with a z650 and couldn't be happier. torq over high hp and still a lot of fun till 100mph which is more than enough to me on a naked bike.
Nicely put. The Z and Griso allow me to potter nicely, but also allow to scratch that itch very occasionally, less now as I get older. Cheers.
Im 58 and 2 years ago i brought a new Ninja 400. Awesome little bike and i have a ball on it. The other bike is a 170hp beast sits in the garage looking at me.
Isn't that the way. Smaller bikes can be so much fun, especially if you can wring them out, and still be quasi legal/safe. Cheers.
Nice video.
That's what I hear about the Classic 500 - leaves riders with a big grin. Cheers.
I've only been riding for 5 years, at 59 love my Speed 400. Light, 40hp, and if I do a long trip, probably take the BV 400, a Cadillac of scooters.
" it still looks like a motorcycle to me" love that..
What can I say, I was born in a different century and I'm a traditionalist :-) Cheers.
I'd love to find a mid size 4 cylinders with abs. Got RE Himalayan 411 atm. Plenty of fun.
Hard to find a mid sized 4 cylinder, but Kawasaki have that little 400. Enjoyed the Himalayan when I rode it. Cheers.
As a 67 yo owner of the Z900RS, I can't imagine wanting a motorcycle that will be faster or quicker off the line. I crank the throttle on mine and have to hang on for dear life!
Agree - I simply wouldn't know what to do with more power. The ZRS is a rapid ride if you want it to be. Cheers.
I’m 56 and my CB650R is perfect. For me.
I enjoyed the 2018 XSR900 and nearly got one. Certainly the new one is capable bike. Cheers.

Appreciate it! Welcome aboard.
I bet that CB450 is a hoot!
