- Hey guys! Welcome to another travel vlog on my channel! As I’m planning to make more and more travel vlogs within the Philippines, I decided to give this series a name-LEEWALIW. It's a play on the Tagalog word, liwaliw, which means pleasure trip or excursion.
In Tagalog, it means pamamasyal, paglilibang, o pagbabakasyon.
In this episode, my family and I spent the weekend in a beautiful place in Silang, Cavite. Hope you enjoy our little adventure! 🌿💖

I think it's cool that you're gradually building up an impressive body of knowledge about the Philippines- I sense that you've come a long way, and you've gotten to the point where you can already teach your family about the minutiae of Philippine cuisine and culture. Don't spoil Otto too much, or he might start to expect to be treated like royalty.

What a great way to spend time with family. Sometimes it’s nice not to have WiFi & just go off-the-grid, and just be present with your loved ones & make more memories 🥰
I love crispy vegetable lumpia (vs the Shanghai style) 😋🤤. My brother preferred the all-meat kind, so my mom would dice up pieces of pork & mix it with the veggies trying to cater to both of us brats 😂

Silang is underrated - it is indeed a must visit place for platitos and plantitas and anyone who’s into chill nature hangout

Try to check Puerto Azul in Ternate ,Cavite. Back in the 80's up to early 90's that beach is private and only the government employees can go there with a paper for permission and it's guarded by a soldiers. When I was a kid i clearly remember the sea water there is color icy green on the shore and blue in the part of a canyon spot and white sands. But now I'm not quite sure of the sea water are still clear and icy green color on the shore line 🙂.

A family bonding in such a small space to sleep is a precious moment or a thing that no one can buy.
This place is very ideal for the residents living in the cities, to unwind and have a quality time with their family and to connect with the nature. Btw otto is so cute 🥰

But that place is not for common people. Because I just know that place would be sssssooooo expensive, they can promote themselves.
If would be much more effective if the place is for the Lower or Middle Class peoples.

One of the hidden gems in Silang. There are so many places like this around the upland of Cavite (Alfonso, Tagaytay, Mendez, Amadeo, Maragondon, Magallanes, Bailen and Indang) that only few know and they are not the "tourists" type of places that is common.
@Jessica Lee thanks for sharing, btw do you happen to know a place just like the Minbak in Korea somewhere around Silang or Amadeo Cavite? Kam sa hab nida! wow impressive you'd been living in our country for 9 yrs now I bet you're good in Tagalog :) I've been to SK few yrs ago & loved it and got the urge to learn Korean lang or hangeul, I've been addicted to Kdramas that's why hahaha! Can you pls tell me the name of this nice getaway in Silang as we're looking to stay in one of similar places? Pls thanks!

The Vakul or something similar was once common throughout the Philippines and all over East Asia and not just in Batanes, it was the peasant's raincoat when plastic/rubber raincoats were not yet invented, when my mom was young she used to see these grass coats in Nueva Ecija used by farmers; these coats are also widely used in China and Japan in the past.
