    A have a few questions:
What software do y’all use for terrain generation
What software do y’all use for tree generation
And how much does an environment artist get paid per year
(Thank you for the inspiration you have given me to keep creating in 3d)

Terrain generation in Houdini and Gaea.
      Tree generation in SpeedTree.

Yeah how stupid of them. They should have gone to an alien planet that has giant robots, glowing rocks and web like tree trucks to keep it authentic and practical. These nerds are destroying the art of cinema. They should talk to elon musk to arrange few months filming trips to alien planets to shoot on location. I heard the new ALIEN movie was filmed practically. Directors should learn from those guys.

@@MrMiyagi005 could've shot some live action plates and then do cg on stop so it looked somewhat believable. This is why bay's movies are wayyyy better

@@mrstroodle4717 Only the first alien planet and the last volcanic crater climax was full CGI. Whole remaining movie was shot on location with real explosions and CGI robots were added on the filmed plates. The fact that you couldn't tell what's real and what's not should tell you how stupid the current "too much cgi" trend is. I know it's not on par with bay's movie. The lighting, cinematography and animation on original makes the robots look huge and grounded. Plus insane amoutn of sfx on set. Current one had budget constraints in terms of both money and time. Whole movie had flat lighting.
