Say what u will but Parley Baer was funny as hell as Chester..even though they do dumb him down over the yrs..the beginning of this episode was hilarious.."gracious alive would u look at them gallases"..."chickens"..lol. So much better then Dennis Weaver who was too goofy to be funny.
I thought it was realistic, one reason I like Gunsmoke is that not all the episodes have a happy ending, everything wrapped with a neat bow of happy ever after

I agree! Chester is the best part of Gunsmoke. He says the funniest shit.
