- Grace Slick's music video for "Mistreater" from her 1981 album Welcome To The Wrecking Ball... this was her follow-up to her 1980 album, and fan favorite, Dreams. This album featured a more mainstream hard rock sound, but proved to be even less successful for Ms. Slick. The following year, she rejoined Jefferson Starship and only released one more solo album in 1984, Software.

Grace Slick scorched on vocals during this period... she literally could burn down a stage with her voice... what a powerhouse!!!
Grace Slick was dangerous and one of the first women in rock who was. Go Grace!
Fantastic lady. Has followed here since the Airplane days..
The original badass and nobody rocks harder than Grace slick her solo work is just brilliant
There´s no one like her, she´s just Grace! And I love her!
wao......that voice!!! Grace really rock!!!
Love you Grace :)
I still LOVE this!!!!!!!!!!!!
Both 'Dreams' and 'Welcome To The Wrecking Ball' are brilliant albums that I still play regularly. Grace was and always will be one of the top 10 Rock Voices of ALL TIME
Grace's 1981 LP 'Welcome To The Wrecking Ball' & 1984's 'Software' are both being re-released on April 7th on a one CD package. You can order it on amazon. It's the first time that these two cult classic albums have been released on CD.
Thanks so much for that info heartboy.
The album "Welcome to the wrecking ball" has been released on CD in 1991.
Actually she rejoined Jefferson Starship later that year (1981), this album came out in early 1981 and she appears on the song 'Stranger' on Jefferson Starship's 'Modern Times' album, which came out later that year. Yes, I agree, all four solo albums should be released on CD, better yet, a four/five CD box set would be killer, spanning her whole career. I'm one of the few that likes the Starship era. The songs 'Rock Myself To Sleep', 'I Don't Know Why' & 'Babylon' are pretty good Grace songs!
I want a 4 cd set of Grace Slick solo albums! Right now you can just buy the first 2 albums on cd.
@flipper803 Me too! I have an LP rip on CD, but an official CD release would be superb! And who knows... may happen one of these days. A lot of albums I never thought would see a CD release eventually did. There are a lot of smaller record companies that are somehow getting rights to re-release old albums on CD, either long out of print or ones never released. We'll keep our fingers crossed! ;)
Thankfully they finally did release this with Software on CD!
I wish I could get this on CD
I loved this back then and still do. This album was far better than Pat Benetar or Joan Jett or Bette Midler but this this got zero radio play.
This is odd because 'Mistreater' was not released in the USA as a single, but it was in England. In the USA, we got 'Sea Of Love' as the single but no video!!
watta gal!!!!!!....wow....phew(speachless)
@Premiess80 Of course she can write a great song, she's a songwriter, even though she's long retired and in her 70's. Musically by dead by 30? Too right she was. Go read her book she's said it herself.
There's a point with every artist where they're not relevant anymore. They know it and us fans smell it a mile off if we're honest. Don't mean they stop doing what they do. They gotta make money. But every now and then they produce a gem....And our Grace has done that, sure.
Also, great outfit!
Is there a better quality video somewhere?
Exactly! This video seems to have gotten worse in quality over the years. I wasn't that bad when if was first uploaded on here.
@@Heartboy1031I wish I knew why. A couple other videos have suffered in the same way. It must be the format of the original uploaded video. Unfortunately there’s nothing I can do about it.
Grace sure sells the hell out this song - too bad it's really not that great of a song to start with. (Really, would anyone care about this if anyone else was singing it?) Still, that's real star power for you - making even mediocre stuff sound like the most exciting thing on Earth - and Grace always had bucketloads of star power!
Yes. And the morale of the story is.....
Was this before, during, or after the Germany incident?
The incident in West Germany happened in 1978 and ruined what should have been a significant concert tour for 1978. This album was out early 1981 it was very cold out when I bought this album and was listening to it.
you can see why she decided to quit while she was still ahead
"you can't fly human master
without a rifle on your shelf"
Good ole Grace. The queen of rock. The video sucks but she looks great. Not a bad song, shame about the naff lyrics, timeless sound to it all the same. Can't deny that.
The truth of it though: she was musically dead by the time she was 30 but wrung another 20 years out of it. Can't fault her for it, they all do it.
Tip of the hat to ya Grace, you were the original and best.
musically dead during red octopus , dragon fly spitfire earth ??? wow
I have this Album on LP , but the mixing is quite bad. This is a good mixing here
too bad this was way before beavis and butt head, They could have critiqued the performance.
carrement mauvais
Pretty awful.
