EDGE in Ghana: The Mother and Baby Unit

The Mother and Baby Unit at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi was built with funds raised by Her Excellency, Rebecca Akufo-Addo, the First Lady of Ghana. The facility was designed and constructed by Africa Building Partners with a workforce that was entirely Ghanaian. The resource efficiency of the building, which was EDGE certified by thinkstep-SGS, results in significant operational savings that can be re-channeled into better medical equipment and quality infant and pediatric care.
