To clarify the system shown in this video only works on Hobie Pro Angler and Hobie Outback kayaks with the Hobie Guardian Retractable Transducer Shield. There is an adapter plate available for Hobie kayaks that have the original Lowrance ready plate. Cost is $2279 plus tax.

2250 plus tax. And yes for Hobie kayaks with the Hobie Guardian transducer system which would include the 2019-current Hobie PA14, 12, 360 12 and 14 and of course outback.

Can you give me an update on the Texas Power Paddle? How has it held up? Any problems with it? I'm considering it, but can't seem to find many people to talk with about it. Would you buy it again? Thanks!

It’s help up extremely well with little to no maintenance. My only issue was that I had to install a weed guard on it because it will shut off as a safety feature if it does get clogged with grass and/or debris. If the floating sea grass is really bad here it will shut down I’d you don’t catch it. It does have a reversing sequence that you can use to clear the debris from the prop.

Are you still using the TPP and do you still recommend it? Anything issues over the long run?

Really cool but $2300.00! Thats a whole 'nother kayak. Bixpy is cheaper including the unit at about half the cost.

Under powered, over priced and no range!!!

    What's the cost?

  • @kernlkajun1

Would have to opt for the Bixpy at the stern Micro power pole mount due mainly to cost along with the fact that I would be using the Guardian for a transducer, otherwise, nice product.

Update; Noticed TPP came out with a rudder unit for the PA so would say the extra cost represents value added. It’s on my radar. Any updates regarding durability would be appreciated.
