Exploring Armenia: Looking for Lenin (and coffee) in Yerevan

🇦🇲 Slipping on and off the tourist trail, I arrive in Yerevan in mortal need of coffee. Things get dicey before I make it to the beautiful Republic Square, seek out the missing Lenin, stumble across a statue with a crazy history, and then land us an impromptu tour from a guide in giant sunglasses.
This one's got a bit more historical info to it; there are also cats.

Thank you for sharing the meaning behind these statues. Most people who are recording their tours ignore them entirely. I find it ironic that of all things you found it hard to find good coffee in the first few hours in Yerevan. The cafe and caffe culture is pervasive.
