    1987 quest is my girl. She's black but I gotta say the color of yours is sick. I'm waiting on finishing gathering all parts I have a lr4 aluminum 5.3 but waiting on a 5 or 6 speed. They're pricey here used.
    I purchased mine in 2018 from an impound yard. I was 17 in senior year of high school in 87. I wanted one so bad when I looked at blue one new at dealer.
    6 kids and 30 years later I was finally able to buy one.
    You're absolutely right about high school story except it was me in 87 in high school when they were new. Great video bro.

      Thank you. Glad you liked the video. I’ve purchased a few Conquests from scrap yards also. And either resold them or parted them out.

    I had the pleasure of making a beer run with my wife’s younger brother’s 87 Conquest. It was a little damp outside and when I entered my neighborhood I did a rev match downshift into second and stuffed the gas to the floor. I ended up making a nice sick drift around the long curving entrance street. It left quite an impression on me. I know full well my brother-in-law had no idea how performance drive anything. He would’ve freaked out with that sick little drift. I really like the styling of this car, it still looks good all these years later. Hate to say but your Prelude is outclassed. This car reminds me of GEN2 Celica GT styling wise. Just a good looker.

    I was 15 in '84 when my mom's boss' son picked me up in a Starion Turbo TSI AWD. I wanted one so badly. Even today that is one cool car.

    • @LudeQuest
      @LudeQuest  ปีที่แล้ว

      They were non-intercooled in 1984 (so it wasn’t a TSI-Turbo Sport Intercooled) and they were all RWD…..none were offered in AWD…

    I'm 40 now, and I know what you mean about loud. I like noise, and a nice tone, just not overly loud for no reason. Beautiful car man, I've only ever seen one in the wild before. Then again I do live in VT where cars rust out in 5 years lol.

    The Conquest all day long. The Honda I just don't know about. But either one is cooler than what I drive.

  • @papawoody9597
    @papawoody9597 ปีที่แล้ว

    I too like both cars.
    I was working at a Honda store when the Prelude came out. The Prelude was never a big seller, but they were a good car and fun to drive. Honda people were very resistant to change, and a lot of them bitched about the change to a rounded shape and no popup headlights. Even the Si was never a performance car, but Honda was innovative with the 4WS and ALB variants. Four wheel steering didn't catch on back then, but before long, everyone had ABS.
    The Conquest/Starion was such a good looking car. Like a beefier version of the '82-'86 Supra. A friend had a red TSI, and especially compared to anything Honda was putting out, the thing was a rocket. It'd leave a CRX Si for dead.

    In our country of Norway/Portugal, the car is a Mitsubishi Starion and it is such a unicorn car. Our founder has owned 2 Prelude 4th gens, one H22 VTEC and one 2.3 Si and it is one of the greatest Hondas ever made in our opinion! We have followed and put on the bell, and would love a follow back as well. Looking forward to being part of the journey!

    @Mike-xt2ot 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Many people are not aware that mitsubishi built the G54b for industrial use. It came in most forklifts for 30 years. So if looking for cheap used emginr parts look at forklifts in marketplace before looking in G54b enthusiasts groups
    It's the difference between 3k and 300 bucks. Plus you get a forklift for your shop

    You did a great job on this Conquest - these weren't that common back in the day and even more so now. How is the driveline holding up to the extra power? Evan did a great job too!

    • @LudeQuest
      @LudeQuest  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No issue yet on driveline. Rear end is all stock with stock axles as well. The stock rear end can take a lot of abuse. It’s the launching from a stop that will break the axles.

      @@LudeQuest After watching your clip i remember that in old house neighborhood were we stay previously i had a friend and his dad had a Mitsubishi Starion that was looking very similar to your Chrysler Conquest not sure if it had same engine though.. but as i went to get my friend out i often talked to his father when he was working something to that car.. he was a mechanical engineer and that car was very cool he told me that at one point he was interested to get into rally racing but it couldn't find a team co-pilot so he only participated in few up-hill events an he won first place in it 's class he show me 6 cups he had in the garage.. what a cool car and instantly i had some flash-backs and i remember the old cool times we had in past when i watched your clip, so i wanted to tank you to bringing back my old memories..
