Since I recently got a pet chameleon I went ahead and made this DIY dripper and figured I'd show you guys how!

Or you can use an intravenous infusion line as well. It works perfect and saves you the hassle of having to tie and untie the knot to find the right flow.
Totally works awesome! I used hot glue to seal the hole! It is waterproof and works nice. Super stoken i only spent 88 cents people

You can also use a airflow adjuster for an aquarium air pump. Or use a Venturi valve upside down 🤷🏽♂️
This is the perfect video for me! I’m home all day so I always spray my Jackson Chameleon’s tank down throughout the day and a humidifier for the winter time because his humidity does go down in the winter so I have that to use during the winter months for when his humidity goes down to bring it back up. I was looking into getting a dripped but I’m definitely going to make this for him now.

So what happens to the water they don't drink? Would I need a reservoir at the bottom?
Arachnid Tv spray bottles are not recommended as the chameleons prefer not to be sprayed on directly.
@BenJervis62 You can look up used misting systems much cheaper!
Here is a quick recommendation. Please remove the rope and replace it with a branch of some sort. I don’t know if you know this, but rope material can actually rip out the chameleons nails, resulting in them not being able to climb as well making them wobbly climbers. Hope this helps! :)

I see that it's from a year ago but I just wanted to say that the sidelights won't give him enough uvb. I would recommend a long one that's 12% uvb and then you'll need a basking light which you can just get a flood light from a hardware store for that. I hope I'm not coming off rude, I would hate to see your baby get a calcium deficiency. I hope everything is going well tho!

Where does the water drip to when the chameleon is not drinking? Do you have to cleanup the puddle at the bottom of your enclosure ? Or do you have something catching the excess water that not being used?
Just FYI - please upgrade your UVB to UVB that actually provides 3.0 Ferguson Zone of UVB - which is the T5HO lighting, 10.0 or 12%. Even Zoomed admits that this lighting you have is just to get the chameleon home. Please also inform your watchers. As someone who frequently consults to provide chameleon care, we've seen many chameleons die from lack of proper UVB under this lighting. Thank you and good luck

Where is the water dripping into? As i wouldn't want to soak my terranium to the point I'd have to renew the substrate

You could use a dripper with a valve on it and then you wouldn't have to put a knot in it good video

Please get the proper uvb strip tube lighting: T5 HO 10.0 those double dome fixtures with coil uvb.. do nothing.. and will cause your animal to get Metabolic Bone Disease.
Of course this was 2 years ago... I am probably a bit late on that.
Thankfully I have since upgraded all of my chameleon care :) I appreciate the comment regardless though. Always good to spread proper knowledge!

Moonlight Sizz thank you!! And it's basically just something to drop water into their enclosure! Chameleons will only drink moving water off of plants so it's important to have one for them!

Just use an aquarium airline tap to create the dripping rather than tying a knot 👍

Bryan Corona yep! Chameleons will only drink moving water from leaves so drippers are pretty important for them!
