I had the good fortune to live in Upper Hackney, overlooking the Peak Rail line. Summer evenings could be fantastic if the wind was in the right direction as I could hear the Peak coming long before seeing it. Spent many an hour watching them going up and down. Indeed I used to horse ride from 'Red House Stables' near the line and would always ask if we could ride within sight if it was a running day...
I too Robert enjoy the sound of the class 25s, them nights up at New Street when they were doing parcels work, and doubleheaders to Wales on a summer Saturday I wont forget.
@@antman09ful1 Had a great run behind one in West country in the seventies.. Sunday ADEX to Paignton, stoped at Exeter by failed train in front, nicked our duff, 45 late left single 25 with thirteen on, made up 10 to Paignton!! Happy days . . .
Mike I love when you do these great days out finding remote locations along heritage lines capturing the fine sights and sounds of some our old favourite classic locos. Not just great loco action in this video but the countryside is lovely as well. Top stuff. PS. Me and Liz loved the lambs
Ben I can't take the credit for the locations in this video as it was all down to a mate of mine as he lives in the area. It was great to hear the sound of a good old rat as its a loco I loved to see when they were BR locos and in blue. It was my mate who said you need to film these animals as he said I cant remember seeing a horse in any of my videos. Pleased you and Liz enjoyed the little lamps. Take care Mike.
Great to see all those different classes of diesel from back in the day. You can't help but get sentimental about the sight and sound of some of these iconic locomotives. Great video Mike, well done. 🤓
I was there and it was my 1st time at Ecclesbourne, I filmed on both including the buses, really surprised how few views there are but I enjoyed it, highlight was the 25 at Peak and the 26 at Ecclesbourne.
