@@sgballz1i don’t understand why you would immediately take “soft” negatively. i think that knee jerk reaction that you’re describing reflects insecurity - like you’re immediately contextualizing “soft” in this binary of manly/strong vs weak/soft and offended because you have been socialized to believe that softness, then, is a threat to your manhood or a weakness, but bro, soft actually just connotes comfort and nonviolence. do we not all enjoy soft blankets, pillows, clothes, etc? softness is one of the great beauties in life, like the soft glow of a sunset, and i think that we can only stand to benefit by acknowledging that. and even if you disagree, at the very least, i think it’s important to realize that there is nothing implicitly negative in softness. i think putting your guard up in response to this kind of neutral or even positively leaning statement sounds like a trauma response. one of the best realizations i’ve made in my lifetime is that we are all here doing our best to love and enjoy, not hurt and cheat. it took a weight off of me. i stopped being on the defensive and started to just be able to enjoy and see the best in others. i really wish that for you and everyone else too.
