Dear Synapse: with all respect, your marketing and publicity team has to step it up. Why this gem of a synth is not breathlessly discussed as those of Xfer/Arturia/Spectrasonics/U-he etc is beyond me.
This is a truly wonderful synth. I was going to buy pigments but this is just so easy to use and sounds warm and thick. It reminds me of a software version of the Virus Ti and I think after playing with Dune 3 that there has been some inspiration from the Ti (and why not!)
Excellent tutorial! It’s nice to see how the mod matrix works for the MSEGs. I would never create more than one instrument sound per instance of Dune, but I really enjoyed the demonstration of what it’s capable of!
Excellent dune 3 tutorial, Learnt a lot from this one. Dune 3 is one of the best vst instruments out there, very ubderrated plugin capable of some amazing sounds, I use it a lot for ambient sound design
Great tutorial, thank you! Dune is really great and I'm happy to own it. If you have a wish list for further tutorials I have 2 here as they are not that intuitive to use: + Midi in the Sequencer/Appregiator + Importing Wavetables
Great Work. Thank you. I have Serum, Synthmaster, the Roland Cloud Ultimate and since one Year Dune 3. I have use Dune 3 for two Times and then i have forgot him. 🙈 Now, thanx of your Video i love to have him and will use him more times from now. Thanx again from Hamburg Germany!
@@demishellen yeah, I have bought a few synths recently but this one I want to learn, already starting to get my head round it and the sounds are the best I’ve heard. Where can we download the preset? I don’t see a link for it. Do the mseg presets come with it then? Thanks again
I've just bought this amazing synth and it's blown me away. I absolutely love it! I'm conflicted though: it seems that this programming process is geared towards those who wish to press one key on their midi controller and have certain changes be dictated by the mod wheel. Surely that is limiting the potential results because - for example - osc 1 will always be modified the exact same way if - for example - osc 2 is modified to a certain extent. Surely we'd want osc 1 to behave differently sometimes when osc 2 is doing certain things(?) Of course, it's possible to load up multiple instances of Dune, (other synths are available), in order to separate the modifiers and the way that they affect the individual voices and surely that would be the preferred way to use VSTs so that we're not locked in to one particular sound at CC 1 = 0 and one particular sound at CC 1 = 127. If I want a different sound at 127, then that ain't going to happen. Surely, it'd be better to program different sounds on different tracks in the DAW so that more control of those individual sounds would be available(?) I'm confused and I'm brand new to synths of such high quality so I profusely apologise if I seem to be dissing Dune 3... that's certainly not what I'm doing.... I'm trying to understand.
Dear Demis, is it possible to make this preset available for direct download, along with the MSEG templates you created? I am trying to imitate what you did from the video, and so far it is not going very well (((
I see some of the presets have 'breath' as a CC option. The manual doesn't have it as a number value. I'm trying to assign my controller to it and it doesn't seem to work. Any ideas what number it is?
@ thanks, I found it eventually. My keyboard didn’t have the CC2 to select from but I found a 0-8 template that allowed me to map it eventually. Thank for the reply.
Hello! Please tell me why Pitch Bend is not automated for me when using DUNE 3? I work in Cubase, I am trying to record automation and it is not recorded. I tried to select this parameter manually and I did not find it in the list of parameters available for automation. Please help. Thanks in advance.
I use Keys Step Pro to control and sequence some digital synthesizers installed in Ableton, including Dune 3, Arturia Pigment, etc.. I create music which is composed of several Synthesizer Presets. When I'm playing the song live, and I need to change from one Preset to another, I go into the Sound Bank of the respective Synthesizer and select the Preset to change. I ask: Is there a way in Ableton itself, or a Plugin, that I can select the Presets of each Synthesizer and from this selection/mapping I can activate the preset that I will use? As if it were a screen that showed the Tracks for each Synthesizer, with their respective pre-selected presets. Is there a more practical and agile way to do this?
Nice stuff, but this would be a nightmare in real production or use such a preset, because all layers should needs to mixed separately. Sounds good anyway.
Please tell me how to raise or lower the sound an octave or two up or down, for example in Serum everything is simple, I pulled the number and that’s it, but I can’t find Dune 3? Thank you in advance.
It is good synth, but all the other Synapse products do have disntinct synapse sound, "shine" or softness, so I wonder if they could actualy do but different character each of their products
thank you, very helpful. i have a complain: . programming the sequencer is antique... no way edit with playin the notes or intervals, or have a graphic grid with pitchs etc... basic sequencers of reason make better things since long time
Watching tutorials like this make me realize how little I know about my favorite softsynth. 😁
I am a proud owner of DUNE 3 , this is one of the best synths I' ve ever heard , great work - just INSANE !!!!
I agree, I'm so impressed, I am considering selling my access TI2.

Nice one Demis, as always. Please keep these tutorials coming. I can't say how much I love the sound of Dune, it's the mutts nuts👍
Totally agree 😂
What a great tutorial, calmly explained. Wonderful. It's becoming increasingly clear to me what a great synth my Dune 3 is.
One of the best arp tutorials I've ever seen. Cheers Mate
Very nice, definitely going to watch the rest of the series!
YES YES YES more please. Dune is my most used synth and I have a lot of them

Great 😃 I have never tried taking it this far… Now I will give it a go 🎹 I really love the sound of Dune 😎

This is fantastic inspiration for those of us that own Dune.. thank you
Awesome, much thanks Demis - I am going to try this tonight
Super TuTo, j'utilise Dune 3 depuis un an et toujours aussi heureux de l'avoir.
Brutal Synth

Love dune! Make more videos! Make some simple sound like plucks and synths lush sounds too :D
Thank you - that was excellent and so well explained.
Great tutorial. Thanks.
This is great! Keep em coming!
Can we please get an arpeggiator for Obsession? It sounds so great, and.. it is a shame it doesn't have one :/

good lessons. Do some lesson about Dune 3 and some Depeche Mode sound

Hi, are you using the full version or the free trial?

anyting for beginners anywhere?
Sure, here is a video covering all the basics: th-cam.com/video/cImotxobYMk/w-d-xo.html
Hi, I would like to select some patches, and group these patches to facilitate their use in a performance, what procedure do you suggest?
Hola se puede bajar la afinacion ? como ?
Got stuck on trying to recreate your preset in mseg1....wish u just showed how to do that cuz now mine sounds nothing like yours....
Download the patch, link is in the video description.🙂
Where do we download the patch?
It is here (also added to the video description): www.synapse-audio.com/dune/Preset.zip

There is two possible ways, change the Semi knobs in the oscillator section or use the mod matrix to pitch everything up (destination "Common/Semi").

Is there something more basic ie for people who do not know what an MSEG is for example?
Check this for a basic introduction: th-cam.com/video/cImotxobYMk/w-d-xo.html
what app did you the dune vst
You mean the host app? Demis uses Cubase usually.
You left out the hardest part which is properly tuning MSEG 3.
