I have tried those aftermarket carbs and have failed to find one that actually works. you got lucky.

The choke knobs usually don't work with this series of after market. I always have to get a good crank and idle before going out especially when it's cold to keep from have to pull the rip too many times.

Great explanation! Well done 👍🏼 .
If your blower didn’t come with one, see if you can find the spark plug/torx wrench 🔧 on eBay or Amazon. Great tool to have for general disassembly and maintenance.

I have the exact issue with my BR600. Good video 👍

    That's actually incorrect.
The primer pulls a vacuum and exits the fuel back to tank.
The inlet is in middle of carburetor and pulls gas from tank filter side.

*12:25** Your engine silicone seal is no good, that's where all that oil around the lower engine pan and crankshaft came from. Mine had that same problem last year so I removed the engine, cleaned the engine real good, applied some new Dirko HT sealant and put it back together. Been running perfect for over a year now with no leaks.*

Nice work. Next time I need a one handed small engine mechanic, you are the guy! I have put that carb back on and I can tell you it's a challenge with two free hands. I don't know how you did it all with one.
I have always been worried about getting a carb that won't work. You gave me the confidence to investigate that part further and get one if the measurements all match. It looks like your machine is exactly like mine.
Why didn't you replace the fuel lines with those in the kit?

@@lalo2641 it may be the carb. I'm not a certified mechanic but for 15 or 20 bucks to get another carb to try it shouldn't be too bad to try.

That is not how a primer bulb works. It pulls fuel thru the carb. The vacuum side goes to carb the pressure side returns fuel to the tank.

It seems I’ve got my primer bulb working correctly but I have to continue to prime for it to run

So I’ve got my bulb to where it’ll prime and squirt fuel so…. Does that fuel squirt into the top of the carb or bottom? It’ll only run for a second or two then die

I don't seem to be able to find the OEM part for this blower. I guess I could buy one from a Stihl dealer but like the man said, they are $50 and up. Aftermarket is the only thing out there.

Takes a BIG chance using a aftermarket carb....you got lucky indeed

    • @davemcmahan2036
      @davemcmahan2036 3 ปีที่แล้ว

I used an after market carb, the same one shown in the links for this video. It works. I find it floods much easier so that makes it tricky to start, but it runs well once you get it to fire up.
If it floods, the best solution I found was to remove the plug and use an air compressor to blow out the plug gap and also blow out the cylinder through the spark plug hole. Put the plug back in and then continue.

*Exactly what I expected from a brand like Hitachi **Bestfor.Garden** also recommend I’ve only had it a few weeks now, but really happy with what it does. I assume it’s like anything, if you take care of it, it will last along time.*
