May his memory be a blessing. Canto Danto was the cantor at my shul, Beth Emeth Bais Yehuda in Toronto. He sang at my wedding 35 years ago. Such a privilege for us. ❤️✡️

Amazing! What a beautiful davening. Imagine being able to attend shul and hear this every week.

Simply stated the weak and crazy rabbi Armand Cohen at parch syn grew too jealous and moved to remove him. Such great planning. I followed and had mastered bel canto singing and in three years of my ten (longer than any cantor in their history). I used all of Louis (zl) music and for three years it was respected then the rabbi and asst spread damaging rumors which live today. My sin was being single dating and looking very good and being popular with so many Jewish groups in Cleveland. Articles of praise being consistent from the plain dealer and the Jewish press made it worse. And I was so dangerous at the age of 25.

איזה אצילות של נשמה וקול היתה לחזן דנטו. אישיות לא רגילה, עדינות לא מצויה.

My father was a Chazan and a friend of Chazan Danto. Chazan Adler, your comments are so right - Chazan Danto sang with neshama and such a unique and sweet voice. By the way, I have always found your davening to be so beautiful - you have touched my heart and soul. May you continue to share your neshama and voice with the world. Sincerely, Usher Bryn.
