Just when you think you can't love Charon enough in the first game he blesses you with the ability to annihilate health bars the same way he previously did with yours.
I used to avoid games where you had lot of active combat (not turn based I mean), I would get overwhelmed by the bosses, get stressed out, and get too much in my head. The light heartedness of the Hades games has been really helpful overcoming this mental block, so they’ll always be among my favorite games of all time for that! Your videos have been a huge help as well 😊
i really like how zagreus didnt take himself too seriously but i think Mel's more serious demeanor fits the stakes of this game really well. itd be nice if there were more lighthearted moments but i think that could come more from the supporting cast in this game.
same thoughts, zag initially just wanted to get out then the story unfolds with his family affairs, but Mel was raised to kill Chronos a premise throughout the game(early access)
In the first game zag was the lighthearted goofball while he had serious characters he interacted with like Than or Maegara, Nyx or especially hades himself. Melinoe herself is the mostly serious type while having lighthearted characters surrounding her, Dora, Eris. Odysseus. So it’s quite the interesting Dynamic
I don't specifically agree that Thanatos was a "blank slate", I think he projects that (and we can hypothesize for hours on why Death would need or want to present themselves as a blank slate to others lol), but when you meet him he kinda immediately comes across as pouty? not quite petulant but definitely has a little bit of that quality, and as we meet him more we see more of them. he's definitely understated, but not quite blank, and it makes sense to me narratively to put him with zag who has such a forward personality of his own, but i definitely see how as a gameplay aspect he can fall somewhat short because it's also the player who is zag and experiencing than as themselves, not as zag would experience him.
I did have a decent fun run with Support Fire, Aspect of Pan, Air Quality, and cyclones once. That was probably the only time it felt like it was actually putting in work.
There's also some comedy in the withering remarks the gods deliver to eachother when you get a duo. Feels ike there might be more of that in Hades 2, and more is sure to come.
On the subject of glitches that made their way into finished games: my favorite comes from the original Street Fighter 2. During development, the devs noticed a glitch that allowed players who were quick enough to "cancel" certain moves into others. The head gameplay designer thought this was so interesting that he made the decision to keep it in the game. This feature became the first popular implementation of combos in a fighting game--something integral to the genre today.😊
The text might mean specifically channeling your omega cast is how you activate the boon, because somethings you can actively choose to not channel extra magic into it and just do the regular version of the omega move, so aspect of Charon doesn't count more than the first 15 to channel the initial omega cast, anything that would require extra channeling wouldn't activate. This is my guess, at least
I really disagree that Mel isn’t funny. She takes things dead serious no matter what they are, is deeply sincere and even naive at points, because she was raised with a single purpose in mind. That makes it so her interacting with anyone ever becomes deeply entertaining. Her asking Odysseus if mortals shower? Hilarious. Treating Skelly with the utmost respect and dignity because she cannot fanthom him lying, incredible, her repeatedly not understanding that Eris wants to get her attention and being like “>:((((( Why u working for Chronos” as Eris calls her babe, incredible. She calls the little rat boss her “worthiest opponent” and still responds Narcissus with the utmost sincerity. She isn’t quippy like Zagreus but her absolute lack of social tact makes her very entertaining. Also she is just much more aggressive than Zag she gets so angry.
Something about the Keepsakes in Hades 2 I feel is better from the first game is that they feel more designed to work with different Fear (pin), builds (Hammer, Stone) and situations (Eye, Wheel, Lion Tooth). Might be kinda self evident, but still.
i honestly think hestia or hera would be better because they can both help with origination hestia will build up a bit of scorch which will keep doing damage meanwhile hera would probably cause enemies inside the cast to share damage from getting hit with the cast so they'll take the big pop of damage and then smaller pops of damage if im assuming correctly how that would work
If it is confirmed that it works, then correct me but I'm almost certain that the Apollo/Zeus duo effect does not work unless you pay the extra 30 magic. So using it with Charon is kinda pointless imo. Idk if it has changed, but the last time i tried this, the cast definitely did not have lightning bolts unless i paid the extra magic costs. Also I absolutely agree that the keepsakes are more interesting in this game, and the way the Gods' keepsake work with the rarify is 1000% better
The only lackluster keepsake is Dora's. I feel like it should be stronger or at lest not be affected by wounds on nightmare mode, and even then it would still be worse than luckier teeth
i think majority of keepsakes are pretty bad. For the surface, i almost always use God keepsake ->Path of stars(Moon beam). For underworld, I usually use a god keepsake -> Chaos keepsake -> Experimental hammer -> Engraved pin. A keepsake that i wish was better was Metalic droplet. I wish it just gave you 20% faster omega charge speed for entire night. the fixed duration kinda sucks.
NOOOOO!!!!! The Hades 1 thingies about dying I hate them! I wanted more Greece! I still cannot find a fish in Greece and the last 2 times I saw a fishing point at hades I had died... T_T
Yea, especially since we imply that we'd take care of Mom/Persephone's home and garden on the surface. It sucks not having the two additional zones of possible fishing spots every run for the surface.
There absolutely is a bunch of stories about the development of older games. I'm not sure I can name channels here, but you can look up "War stories" series here on youtube. Add some keywords (like game names - Diablo, Prince of Persia, Homeworld etc.) and you'll probably find some.
I just realized that I was avoiding proeminence flare with that aspect cause I thought that it would never trigger since I was only regular casting, I feel so dumb...
During that Chronos fight armor did block the boomerang, but you kept standing and for some reason it hit you for the second time during the same flight. Or maybe it was because it was a midpoint between throw/return arcs, so it "recharged" its hit. I don't know how that works exactly. I also don't think the first Duo works very well and very reliably with this aspect...
I feel like all the ranged casts are a detriment most of the time. They miss too often and throw off muscle memory, especially if you get them late in the run which is when they tend to appear.
Yesterday I had a run with the Zeus Apollo duo, and it definitely does not work lol, there was no lightning at all in mine since I got Solar Ring instead
22:48 yeah sometimes the game just doesn’t want to give hammers it seems. I mean there was probably one offered while you couldn’t see chamber rewards, but yeah, lol
I don't think thanatos and Odysseus are boring. Yeah they are not the most exciting characters but they have fun personalities. They are serious and kind pretty much like mel but it doesn't mean they are not humane when you dig into them.
Was starting Zeus cast for fun, or is it really that good? I can't imagine starting with anything but Apollo gain on this aspect, but I'm not pretending to be an expert
How is Odysseus boring bro he is the most divorced guy in the world and is out there moping about how woman are the greatest weakness of all he takes me out. Moros is weird. He seemed really interesting at first but then he will not stop just talking about the fates
9:50 I know that Hades II is not Hades I nor it tries to be. But man, i miss more comedic moments like the og game had. I hope that Mel starts being less serious as time passes.

When you were talking about the dude that doesn't like the new keepsakes, my first thought was 'he misses mom pom' 😂😂
I did have a decent fun run with Support Fire, Aspect of Pan, Air Quality, and cyclones once. That was probably the only time it felt like it was actually putting in work.

28:21 Oh hey, it me. This was a very fun run to watch!
Bloodline works for every shot of the torch Ω attack. It doesn't even cost that much mp.
i honestly think hestia or hera would be better because they can both help with origination hestia will build up a bit of scorch which will keep doing damage meanwhile hera would probably cause enemies inside the cast to share damage from getting hit with the cast so they'll take the big pop of damage and then smaller pops of damage if im assuming correctly how that would work
Is *Origination* even Needed anymore ?
The Last Patch was so Bonkers you can get Big Boy Damage without it.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Mel and Od are boring? Guess someone didn't hear the bow conversation

true I don't think it works either and agree abt the keepsakes
It worked on Patch 2 at least. It's such a noche interaction that it'd funny if they left it intentionally
The only lackluster keepsake is Dora's. I feel like it should be stronger or at lest not be affected by wounds on nightmare mode, and even then it would still be worse than luckier teeth

@@dodang_9147Droplet is cracked in speedruns tho
I had this cast when I finally beat the 32 fear. The heroic hits for like 45 a strike, it Melts enemies.
NOOOOO!!!!! The Hades 1 thingies about dying I hate them! I wanted more Greece! I still cannot find a fish in Greece and the last 2 times I saw a fishing point at hades I had died... T_T

Can there be a guide on whats your thought process on synergizing boons and aspects
I think the duo works, I slowed down the video and it looked like the lightnings were still hitting after the cast detonated
I just realized that I was avoiding proeminence flare with that aspect cause I thought that it would never trigger since I was only regular casting, I feel so dumb...

I wonder if support fire would hold up if it had piercing like the arrows from that other Artemis boon, I think it triggers on cast?
I feel like all the ranged casts are a detriment most of the time. They miss too often and throw off muscle memory, especially if you get them late in the run which is when they tend to appear.
STORM RING MY BELOVED
Yesterday I had a run with the Zeus Apollo duo, and it definitely does not work lol, there was no lightning at all in mine since I got Solar Ring instead
22:48 yeah sometimes the game just doesn’t want to give hammers it seems. I mean there was probably one offered while you couldn’t see chamber rewards, but yeah, lol
Hi I'm new to play hades, is it shameful if I still can't beat the final boss with 52 attempt till now??
Nope there is no shameful amount. You got this.
The only important thing is that you’re having fun! You got this!
I don't think thanatos and Odysseus are boring. Yeah they are not the most exciting characters but they have fun personalities. They are serious and kind pretty much like mel but it doesn't mean they are not humane when you dig into them.

It's actually good, probably better than Apollo after the rework. Also hadn't used it much lately.
Y’all, the axe blocks while holding down but stops blocking during the half second while Mel is swinging to launch the omega.
Wowowowowwwww
The keepsakes in H2 are dog water compared to Hades 1 keepsakes. In coolness and usefulness.
How is Odysseus boring bro he is the most divorced guy in the world and is out there moping about how woman are the greatest weakness of all he takes me out.
Moros is weird. He seemed really interesting at first but then he will not stop just talking about the fates
Algorithms

Aspect of Qur'an??
first :3
