The date of the PS4 patch date is irrelevant. To allow for ease of porting to the Switch/Steam (as well the freedom other platforms in the future.) The game was rebuilt in the Unity Engine and it wasn't by the same company Bandai hired to make the PSVita/PS4 versions. It does appear the product assest and source code was maintained... but there's no telling how perfect the port being remade in a new Engine was since Bandai didn't even handle this in-house.
Thank you, I think you may have just saved this game for me. I went in wanting to like it and was kind of disappointed to discover it had implemented similar mechanics to World Championship. Most of my experience with Digimon games has been through World 4/X (one of my all time favorite games) and more applicably World Dusk, so I'm used to playing around digivolving as the main mechanic to facilitate progression. So having stats being independent of that really tripped me up. This definately explains why my Ultimate level digimon are getting flattened by rookies. T-T
Going into Next Order with a Rougelike/Dungeon Crawler mindset really helped a lot when it comes to playing the game. You prep and go for resources to make next run easier, like Darkest Dungeon for example
Almost quit during the first few hours, but I'm glad i stuck with it cause oncev you figure out how to grind up stats and stuff the game is amazing. First time i got an ExE comeback i was in love.
HOLY MOLY! They're releasing a Main digimon world game on Switch and PC. Thats amazing, even if it is just a rerelease. I'm one of the few people who never had Playstation consoles. So I missed the World games. So, its quite cool they're releasing it on other platforms.
Just got this on steam soon as I got notification,. Don't have PS4 anymore n miss playing it, now I can,. Usually train Digimon to champions before going out of town.
Thanks for the video man, World 1 is my favorite digimon game even being so cryptic. I keep coming back to Next Order and quitting because it gets a bit overwhelming, learned a few new things, specially the bit that starts at 7:09

I want to add one more tip to the lifespan bit: Devil Chips are an excellent way to foresee a potential desync later in the game if that bothers you and allows you to fix it before it becomes an issue and an annoyance, so I'll explain how I use it. Step 1. Get your Digimon to the stage you intend to leave them on. Step 2. Save your game. Step 3. Buy as many Devil Chips as you need, usually between 22 to 26 at most. Step 4. Give them to your partners until you can't anymore. Step 5. Use the gym or whatever you want to speed through the rest of the day. If one of them passes away before the other then you are aware of the desync before it becomes a hard to fix annoyance. If they wake up and pass together then no issue! It gives you a lot of forward thinking information. This saved me when my Chaosmon was a full day behind my Omnimon the last time I played because I was aware of it and could fix it.
One of my partners died due to sickness and I had no idea how to heal it and it was like day 6. Played the whole game desynced lol. Was okay though. This way i always had a strong one who could help raising the weak one.
i played the game as blind as possible. got myself beaten by the desert chapter boss, the recurring villain of the game. oh man. i need a guide so badly. thank you for this, saved me a lot of time. this game isnt a walk in the park despite the friendly and wholesome cover of the game. its actually spartan brutal hard. just getting to Taomon took me 5 hours of playthrough and my digimons cant really handle battles quite well.
You are right Kugerily, the game is tough! But the good news is that you’ll get stronger/better as time goes on. It sounds like you’re already making progress, which is cool. I’ve got 2 more guides on the way, the 2nd of which will teach you how to handle the chapter 1 boss. If you beat him before it is out then gg! I watch your video guide when next order isnt on pc and i like it, then i wish this game on pc. Fortunately the game relased and i immediately buy it , i try to blind run until mid game maybe and then comeback for this video
To clear this up: The PS4/PS5 (2017) version only has access to 'Easy' or 'Normal' difficulty. Hard Mode unlocks when you beat the game. The PC & Switch versions (released in 2024), have a newly introduced 'Beginner mode', which is a step below Easy. When I suggest 'Normal' mode in the videos, I am simply refering to Normal. You won't see Hard mode until you beat the game. I recommend normal mode for your first time playing, if you would like a challenge. This is the only mode I have ever played, or recorded on. Easy mode is also fine if you want a smoother experience. 'Beginner' mode is for Kouta.

Normal is normal mode Maurotech. Hard mode unlocks after clearing the main story. Sorry, I should have mentioned this; my bad! This was a tip aimed at the returning players.
I just started this game, and for about 3 hours was having no fun dying and dying over and over again, I still barley get it but this video did help. Definitely prefer the turn based cyber sleuth type though
Thanks Plasma, glad the guide helped out, even if only a little. Next Order can be painful in the beginning, especially if it's your first time. There's a learning curve but once you get things down, it becomes a lot easier. I rewatched the guides and watched the new guides. They helped a lot! Beat SWITCH by Gen 2 of my Digimon. Using the Vpets IRL helps a lot with the management aspect. Post Game really needed a degenerate option so I wouldn't be forced to murder my partners to get more of the field guide. 😭
I bought the game 2 days ago and I have to say, everything from this game feels overwhelming to me, I like Digimon and I am trying to understand the game and see what the players really like about this game. I thank you for the guides and will study at my own pace while playing the game and watching guides 😄
Bought it last week, just heard the news that they made a game like the PS1 digimon world. Sure, it may be frustrating when you dont get what you want, when you have insufficient items to raise your digimon(this is harder since you have 2) but eventually, you will enjoy it as the game progress.

I say getting Double fish chance is very good early on. I got it after the town expansion. Went to fish in MOD Cape and made 40k in about 6 hours ingame. With it i can now get my next set of digimon trained through battle easy.

Quick question, in the beginning your digimon will ask you if you’re okay, we got two options: “i’m okay” and “what about you” i chose the second one, will that affect future gameplays or anything?
Digimon World Next Order for the Nintendo Switch version will have a new running feature that will allow you to explore and travel the Digital World faster.
as annoying ad de-sync might be, it does speed up grinding alot and the amount of time mega form typically lasts you'll have a good stretch of having 2 megas anyway.
My dude!!! Thanks for these. DW1 is one of my fav games of all time, probably replayed it more than any game ever after first two gens of Pokémon and FFX. DWNO was the first game I played on PS4, and absolutely loved it. I went in blind and played pretty similarly to how I played DW1, so didn’t realise that battles were the best form of training, not the gym. I got through the game alright but had to spam healing items on most boss fights to make it through. Been wanting to play it again recently and so keen for the switch version, picking it up tomorrow. But I am going to live on these tips videos. Thank you so much. Legend.
Great comment brendan. This was so familiar to me. Loved DW1 as a kid, so when I realized Next Order was similar, I had to snap buy it. And yeah, to the point about the gym, this game seems like a bit of an inverse. I spent so much time in the File City gym (raising numemon) so when I came into this game I was a bit perplexed. On the flip side, NO is the closest we have to a modern open world Digi game, and so I'll take it. Enjoy the switch port when you pick it up man 👍
Hey emeraldo! I haven't checked this myself (so take this lightly) but people have informed that there has been no PS4 patch yet, which I find pretty unusual. I assumed the older versions would be receiving a patch but I don't know if that's came through. I really hope they do patch it, as the original fans deserve it!
Nice to finally see new fans go beyond and try the very roots of digimon itself via the vpet format games Just like what wolfy said It will be early game hell in these kind of games But trust me when i say this, you will be rewarded with lategame heaven as you soldier through Think of what kuze said in yakuza 0 The one to tough it out the most is the one who wins in the end So keep at it and never give up Truly shows you are a TRUE digimon fan doing so :) I will admit this format is an aquired taste, since saddly too many do not want to give it a chance I myself am a veteran and big time fan of this format since world 1 and even did the gen1 vpet emulator Clocked in at more than 1000 hours into next 0rder alone

Since it can be fun to try out different Digimon, I'd recommend not investing in the full lifespan increase straight away. If you do, that's something you can counter eventually, but you should keep that in mind if you have a few different partners you're longing to play with on your journey.
Thank you for the tips! Just to clarify something, there is no in game set number of years that you can play? Like the Atelier series has a time limit where you have 5 in game years for you to complete your ultimate goal. There isn't any time limit for this game, correct? I might end up not going thru and making the most efficient plays, but it's not going to be the end of the game, correct?
I want to try this series again on my switch I played like half an hour and got discouraged and quit but I think I just didn’t know what the series was about
It's an unusual game but it can be really great once you get into the swing of things. There's a lot of trial and error but once learn, the game opens up dramatically. Good luck buddy!
I got this game today thinking it was going to be similar to cyber sleuth, but it really disappoints me knowing I would spend time trying to digivolve my digimon into my favourites just for them to dye of old age and will have to start again
Yeah, there's a few 'styles' of digimon games. I consider the more turn based, full control ish ones 'pokemon esque' - clearly there's a difference, but i mean it more in an ally mechanics sort of way. This is a 'tamer' game, very much in tune with the tamogatchi origins of digimon, where your permanent rpg 'growth' isn't with your fighters, ironically enough, it's the suppory systems.
That's why one is Digimon World and the other is Digimon Story. The fact that the other 2 digimon story games we got in the west got translated as "digimon world" games makes this a bit confusing, but basically, they have different gameplays
Also Upgrading your tamer skill guard is a must to help keep your item usage down, also when you get your tent make sure to use it between battles and cook food in it when possible and the dlc agumon and gabumon is a good first Gen digimon to get a mega as it requires way less stats to become their megas.
Hard mode unlocks after you beat the main story on easy or normal. This tip was more aimed at returning players, which I should have stated drussel. Apologies for the confusion friend. Normal mode is the GOAT imo, so if you're playing that you'll be good.
@@MrW01FY No worries man, it's just confusing when the game doesn't make it very clear. I just remember how absolutly grindy playing this game back in 2018 on the PS4 was and I thought maybe it was because I set it on "hard" by accident and I didn't want to do that again.
I put 20 hours into the game, and apparently was doing it all wrong. I didnt even get to Taomon without the guide. 😂. i had managed to gym train my digimon to champions but they were still so weak i was just grinding out TP. Thanks for the guide! Its been much smoother since. Lol

A couple of these will most definitely come in handy! Though, one thing bugs me about this game and it's not the game's fault, it's more to do with me than anything else... I spent a huge amount of time playing the original game so became very familiar with it (I even still have my old Guide!), though, I haven't played it in some time, so there is an air of familiarity with this game, but that's also throwing me off a tad... it feels the same and different at the same time, if that makes any sense at all... I have played other World games! I've completed DS and Dawn and started Dusk! I did get 2 emulated and bought 2003 pretty much new and I have all the Digimon games on PS4 (I don't mess about!)!
Yeah I feel you CD. I think Next Order wants to pay homage to the original game, whilst also bringing some new (semi-modern) features to the table. As a result, the nostalgia is definitely there but there are some major changes, ie - training in the gym (a staple of DW1) and fighting battles in the Overworld (Next Order). If you tie the two games together in your mind, you might end up tripping over slightly- I kinda felt this way at first. Still, I am glad that Next Order exists and, assuming that you treat it as it's own game, you should be able to still enjoy the nods to the original PS1 game, whilst succeeding here. Nice to see another fan who has enjoyed the older classic games, welcome dude! 👍

I love the fact we actually do now HAVE the Mega Level in what feels like the original, although, I wouldn't mind picking up a Guide for this game (I'm a bit fussy), mainly so I can see Evolution Chains so I can get my favourites, like MetalMamemon, my homey who wrecked Machinedramon in the original for me!
All good Jackie! Everyone sucks at this game in the beginning; it's merciless. But it gets easier when you know you're way around and how to utilize your time effectively. It'll become a breeze once you learn the ropes- you got this :)
So ik this is a year late but when it comes to perks, I tend to avoid life type to begin with and get the rebirth perks, as i find getting a few gens in and have stronger mons, THEN get life extention, it feels bad being stuck with a pretty bad digimon that is suffering because you are say in the volcano and they keep getting sick because they dont like it, sometimes i find just getting a rebirth helps instead of brute forcing it (In my opinion)
I've only played on PC since the release but I'm enjoying it a lot charlie. I'm defo biased but I've heard the switch has been working well enough. There was some issues with japanese audio being missing on some of the hard copies but I'm sure they'll fix that soon. Have fun if you get it!
Tried to stick with the weaker enemies at first and got into the loop and started advancing. Although I'm still stuck on the first area so I'm not sure if I'm doing it right...

I've been considering using cheats to stop digi aging so I could explore and fish without stress. Do you think removing the "time management" would ruin my game experience?
The game can be relaxing when you get the hang of it but it takes a little bit of getting used to. There's probably gonna be a lot of mistakes but once you get the hang of it, things can be really fun. Thanks for the comment!
Do you mean fight with the newly hatched baby Digimon? If yes, you can fight with them. However they will be extremely weak and they will not have limit breaks/finishing moves 👍
I played blind and I took it too far. As soon as I realized I can get ridiculous stat gains by fighting it was over. My Megas have 6-7k in every stat. My partners are about 5 days apart and I kind of prefer it. I can have the fresh digimon go straight to stat grinding while my Mega carries the fights. I'll probably try to tighten the gap to maybe three days though.
If you have a PS4, then I believe that it's still fairly cheap on there buddy. Picking up a copy second hand might be even cheaper. Failing that, waiting a month or so and it'll probably come down in price on pc. Good luck with Nintendo lowering their prices MonkaS

I got absolutely destroyed by a level 2 Goblin, healed my Digimon with the bandage not knowing it left them at 1 HP and went back out for revenge just to get clapped again. Would heal my didgimon to 1HP just to get them destroyed the next second again
Once you beat the story, you unlock hard mode and then the post game becomes available. I don’t believe new game plus exists but you can roam around freely doing all the post game challenges forever until you start a new game. I think this is how it works but people can correct me if I’m wrong. It’s been a while rando!

Normal is normal mode Maurotech. Hard mode unlocks after clearing the main story. Sorry, I should have mentioned this; my bad! This was a tip aimed at the returning players.

I just started this game, and for about 3 hours was having no fun dying and dying over and over again, I still barley get it but this video did help. Definitely prefer the turn based cyber sleuth type though

There's a learning curve but once you get things down, it becomes a lot easier. You can make enemy stop chasing you by press menu button when they close to you, they will retreat for vrw second then start chasing you again

I rewatched the guides and watched the new guides. They helped a lot! Beat SWITCH by Gen 2 of my Digimon. Using the Vpets IRL helps a lot with the management aspect.
Post Game really needed a degenerate option so I wouldn't be forced to murder my partners to get more of the field guide. 😭

Bought it last week, just heard the news that they made a game like the PS1 digimon world.
Sure, it may be frustrating when you dont get what you want, when you have insufficient items to raise your digimon(this is harder since you have 2) but eventually, you will enjoy it as the game progress.

I say getting Double fish chance is very good early on. I got it after the town expansion. Went to fish in MOD Cape and made 40k in about 6 hours ingame. With it i can now get my next set of digimon trained through battle easy.

Quick question, in the beginning your digimon will ask you if you’re okay, we got two options: “i’m okay” and “what about you” i chose the second one, will that affect future gameplays or anything?
Digimon World Next Order for the Nintendo Switch version will have a new running feature that will allow you to explore and travel the Digital World faster.
as annoying ad de-sync might be, it does speed up grinding alot and the amount of time mega form typically lasts you'll have a good stretch of having 2 megas anyway.

DWNO was the first game I played on PS4, and absolutely loved it. I went in blind and played pretty similarly to how I played DW1, so didn’t realise that battles were the best form of training, not the gym. I got through the game alright but had to spam healing items on most boss fights to make it through. Been wanting to play it again recently and so keen for the switch version, picking it up tomorrow. But I am going to live on these tips videos.

Great comment brendan. This was so familiar to me. Loved DW1 as a kid, so when I realized Next Order was similar, I had to snap buy it. And yeah, to the point about the gym, this game seems like a bit of an inverse. I spent so much time in the File City gym (raising numemon) so when I came into this game I was a bit perplexed. On the flip side, NO is the closest we have to a modern open world Digi game, and so I'll take it. Enjoy the switch port when you pick it up man 👍

I assumed the older versions would be receiving a patch but I don't know if that's came through. I really hope they do patch it, as the original fans deserve it!

Since it can be fun to try out different Digimon, I'd recommend not investing in the full lifespan increase straight away. If you do, that's something you can counter eventually, but you should keep that in mind if you have a few different partners you're longing to play with on your journey.

Thank you for the tips! Just to clarify something, there is no in game set number of years that you can play? Like the Atelier series has a time limit where you have 5 in game years for you to complete your ultimate goal. There isn't any time limit for this game, correct? I might end up not going thru and making the most efficient plays, but it's not going to be the end of the game, correct?

It's an unusual game but it can be really great once you get into the swing of things. There's a lot of trial and error but once learn, the game opens up dramatically. Good luck buddy!

I got this game today thinking it was going to be similar to cyber sleuth, but it really disappoints me knowing I would spend time trying to digivolve my digimon into my favourites just for them to dye of old age and will have to start again

Yeah, there's a few 'styles' of digimon games.
I consider the more turn based, full control ish ones 'pokemon esque' - clearly there's a difference, but i mean it more in an ally mechanics sort of way.
This is a 'tamer' game, very much in tune with the tamogatchi origins of digimon, where your permanent rpg 'growth' isn't with your fighters, ironically enough, it's the suppory systems.
That's why one is Digimon World and the other is Digimon Story. The fact that the other 2 digimon story games we got in the west got translated as "digimon world" games makes this a bit confusing, but basically, they have different gameplays
Also Upgrading your tamer skill guard is a must to help keep your item usage down, also when you get your tent make sure to use it between battles and cook food in it when possible and the dlc agumon and gabumon is a good first Gen digimon to get a mega as it requires way less stats to become their megas.
The DLC agu and gabu require less stats? If this is true, then I actually never knew this Eric. Cheers!

There's a hard mode?
The only options I got were 'beginner, easy and normal'
Does Normal mode = hard mode?
Hard mode unlocks after you beat the main story on easy or normal. This tip was more aimed at returning players, which I should have stated drussel. Apologies for the confusion friend. Normal mode is the GOAT imo, so if you're playing that you'll be good.

I just remember how absolutly grindy playing this game back in 2018 on the PS4 was and I thought maybe it was because I set it on "hard" by accident and I didn't want to do that again.
I put 20 hours into the game, and apparently was doing it all wrong. I didnt even get to Taomon without the guide. 😂. i had managed to gym train my digimon to champions but they were still so weak i was just grinding out TP. Thanks for the guide! Its been much smoother since. Lol

A couple of these will most definitely come in handy! Though, one thing bugs me about this game and it's not the game's fault, it's more to do with me than anything else... I spent a huge amount of time playing the original game so became very familiar with it (I even still have my old Guide!), though, I haven't played it in some time, so there is an air of familiarity with this game, but that's also throwing me off a tad... it feels the same and different at the same time, if that makes any sense at all...
I have played other World games! I've completed DS and Dawn and started Dusk! I did get 2 emulated and bought 2003 pretty much new and I have all the Digimon games on PS4 (I don't mess about!)!
Yeah I feel you CD. I think Next Order wants to pay homage to the original game, whilst also bringing some new (semi-modern) features to the table. As a result, the nostalgia is definitely there but there are some major changes, ie - training in the gym (a staple of DW1) and fighting battles in the Overworld (Next Order).
If you tie the two games together in your mind, you might end up tripping over slightly- I kinda felt this way at first. Still, I am glad that Next Order exists and, assuming that you treat it as it's own game, you should be able to still enjoy the nods to the original PS1 game, whilst succeeding here. Nice to see another fan who has enjoyed the older classic games, welcome dude! 👍
@@MrW01FY I do appreciate the game for what it is and I do love the updates, let's jus call them! I love the fact we actually do now HAVE the Mega Level in what feels like the original, although, I wouldn't mind picking up a Guide for this game (I'm a bit fussy), mainly so I can see Evolution Chains so I can get my favourites, like MetalMamemon, my homey who wrecked Machinedramon in the original for me!
Tip number 11, my first time beating this game I had no clue what I was doing so I exploited this mechanic to beat the shit out of the main story.

So ik this is a year late but when it comes to perks, I tend to avoid life type to begin with and get the rebirth perks, as i find getting a few gens in and have stronger mons, THEN get life extention, it feels bad being stuck with a pretty bad digimon that is suffering because you are say in the volcano and they keep getting sick because they dont like it, sometimes i find just getting a rebirth helps instead of brute forcing it (In my opinion)

I've only played on PC since the release but I'm enjoying it a lot charlie. I'm defo biased but I've heard the switch has been working well enough. There was some issues with japanese audio being missing on some of the hard copies but I'm sure they'll fix that soon. Have fun if you get it!
Tried to stick with the weaker enemies at first and got into the loop and started advancing. Although I'm still stuck on the first area so I'm not sure if I'm doing it right...

Do you mean fight with the newly hatched baby Digimon? If yes, you can fight with them. However they will be extremely weak and they will not have limit breaks/finishing moves 👍

We are in a similar boat man. Played DW1 when I was 10. I turned 30 in January. This comment made me feel better though, thanks!
I played blind and I took it too far. As soon as I realized I can get ridiculous stat gains by fighting it was over. My Megas have 6-7k in every stat.
My partners are about 5 days apart and I kind of prefer it. I can have the fresh digimon go straight to stat grinding while my Mega carries the fights. I'll probably try to tighten the gap to maybe three days though.
i really would like this game. i played the ps1 game a looooong time ago. but $60 seems like a bit much idk.
If you have a PS4, then I believe that it's still fairly cheap on there buddy. Picking up a copy second hand might be even cheaper. Failing that, waiting a month or so and it'll probably come down in price on pc. Good luck with Nintendo lowering their prices MonkaS

I got absolutely destroyed by a level 2 Goblin, healed my Digimon with the bandage not knowing it left them at 1 HP and went back out for revenge just to get clapped again.
Would heal my didgimon to 1HP just to get them destroyed the next second again

Can you do a New Game+ for this game?
Once you beat the story, you unlock hard mode and then the post game becomes available. I don’t believe new game plus exists but you can roam around freely doing all the post game challenges forever until you start a new game. I think this is how it works but people can correct me if I’m wrong. It’s been a while rando!
