    Good stuff right there! I used to fly FPV drones and I've thought about doing this for my cars more than once. I'd probably just get a cheap 5 inch LCD panel to mount on my controller or nearby on a tripod. I'd want to record the video more than actually use it while driving. They make the panels with the receiver and recorder built in. Some even have a bay for a receiver module and it just plugs right in like it would into a set of goggles and it records to an SD card the same way also. The panel is a cheaper option than goggles also. Those HDOs you have weren't cheap!

      @413RC  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching! It’s unfortunate that the goggles are the most expensive part. You could also buy an Insta360 Go if you just want good on board footage and don’t care about viewing it real time

    • @expedient7314
      @expedient7314 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm looking into doing it for a crawler, and you can get a reciever that plugs into your phone and you use an app to use it, then get a controller mounted phone holder, and then do it that way

    I believe that your camera placement might be deteriorating the signal, this tiny cameras have a hard time with shadows and so, it's always exposing for the dark interior instead of what you need to see in order to drive

    • @413RC
      @413RC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks for the idea! I liked the placement so it looks like you are actually driving, but you can definitely mount it more forward to get the camera in a better angle for driving

    • @413RC

      @413RC  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      hey Scott! Just saw your email and this comment. thanks for reaching out! From what you are saying it sounds like this type of FPV set up might not be the best option for you right now. what it sounds like you want is just to record some footage from inside the car to use in videos and edit with later on. Check you this camera amzn.to/3avXSKR
      for the price (AND SIZE) this might be exactly what you need. I used it a lot in my Mojave video (th-cam.com/video/j6IRCV7S7Cc/w-d-xo.html)
      and my 124018 video (th-cam.com/video/aeCE6jTdthE/w-d-xo.html). check them out for some example footage. hope this helps!

      @@413RC I've looked at that camera. Unfortunately it won't work for me. To get where I want to mount it requires removing half a dozen or so tiny screws to install, turn on re assemble. Then disassemble to turn off and remove. I'm hoping to mount the camera and have the video recorded on a remote SD card or viewer. Kinda hard to explain may have to make a video highlighting it. Thsnks for commenting back.

    I know this is a little old but with the cheaper goggles you linked and the camera, is there anything else needed to get them to work together?

    • @413RC
      @413RC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The cheaper box style googles should link up to the cheaper VTX without an issue. just make sure you get some 1S lipos that have the same connector or if you know how to solder just solder some to match them up. or you could run it through the power supply of the car
