Hellcat... Still partial torwards them, and I completely understand. I would prefer one as well in this arena, but I still have massive respect for Cadillac. The CTS-V is much more balanced, and carries a prestige that Chrysler hasn't matched. With the ATS-V's chassis program, coupled with magnetic shocks and that magnificent LT-4, the CTS-V is undeniably more refined. And for those people who want that, look no further. This competes with it's German rivals in a spectacular, supercharged, American style. This is an improvement over the the previous generation, and is sure to win a few Germans over. Good Job, Cadillac.
+Devin well GM is soon to replace the 8-speed automatic transmission with their new 10-speed that's Co developed by Ford. so it should give the big Cadillac a better hole shot.
Lmao... I have watched close to a hundred CTS-V vids... and I gotta' say this was the best show and format beyond all the others! KUDO'S for keeping this " balls out " and in front!! Thank you, a having been not so entertained this good in a while!!! Seth
I love it that he appreciates how cult cool these v series car are. Everyone I see driving one of these is a true car enthusiasts and I get as well. Go forth Cadillac show us all your tricks.
Nice job on the review, this new current generation of vehicles today highlights a point I made quite a few years ago. There is no way on gods green earth that the E60 BMW m5 was capable of doing 207 miles per hour, from the factory simply by removing the limiter, as claimed by BMW and Jeremy Clarkson on top gear. That car was considerably heavier, had it worse coefficient of drag, and less power then both the CTS V at Hellcat, which also have better transmissions. It is a grand time to be an American. And to think I was considering getting an RS 7... definitely going CTS-V now, really not sure about the color though. I was thinking all black, but the white with the carbon package looks pretty good too.
No, I'd rather shit I a Cadillac. Especially when I think about how German cars come with horrible reliability and, bland styling, and choose to nickle and dime you for things that come standard here. Cadillac give America a lot to be proud of. Fuck Germany, there is no comparison to Cadillac.
great video. thanks for sharing. the CTSV is in the league with the likes of Mercedes Benz ,Audi, and BMW. I'm still trying to see where Chrysler (price wise) fits into that category. it's a big powerful sedan,no doubt but the car is essentially a ,"one trick pony". only good at a straight line.
haha I really enjoy your videos guys, honestly, I wanna jump on a plane from the grey miserable UK, land in Cali (i assume that's where you are) hoon some cars about with yas and then go for a beer haha! "I want to feel like Mad Max in a business suit" haha every video has at least one gem of a one liner, keep it dudes!
its so much performance and power, but heres an idea? for an average older person who can afford a 90k sedan is it to much power? for a luxury RWD daily derivable sedan thats meant to be used as everything from a DD to a track toy might the sheer power turn some buyers off? the bmw is making close to 100 HP less and over 100 lb tq less which may seem more approachable. i think the sheer power could turn off some buyers who want "smooth power" (or power thats far more manageable) with out the "scare" factor. either way i would rock one still.
+justin bouche So you get the regular car. It's definitely easily driven on a daily basis. It only gets stupid when you want to get stupid, otherwise it's smooth and comfortable around town.
The Hooniverse im not saying its not smooth, im sure its very luxurious just like the 3.6 CTS, though this should fit the one car mold after all its a luxury 4 door saloon.
+justin bouche You've clearly never driven anything modern with balls, regardless of who made it. In normal driving you'd never know they pack so much HP. Your comments make you sound like a 12 yr old. Smooth power? WTF...lol Newb power - how about that.
+Malicious SRT well, the highest HP car i have driven was a 13 GTR with 545 HP, i was trying to express the idea of how the power comes in the RPM band, the LT4 is infamous for the violent low down torque thats just above idle. (something like 450 lbs at 1400RPM) the point was in a daily driver the sheer amount of torque would simply roast the rear tires (much like the hell cat twins) that might be a bit of a turn off to someone looking for a LUXURY DD with high power... though as hooniverse just got done telling me it was "very smooth" and controllable. (so to clarify i was asking if either 1 they changed that behavior in the LT4 and 2 how it worked for a daily application) no need to get so angry calm down and enjoy life man.
All wheel drive in this car would add unnecessary weight... it already performs so well that it doesn't need it... just like it doesn't need a DCT. They saved weight and made it a wonderful performance car.... I wonder what they're going to do for the next model year... I don't think it can get any faster safely!
+Malicious SRT Checking every single option box I could find (except one) I got it to $103k, and that was with car covers and wheel locks and other crap. There is an optional limited Crystal White Frost Package that adds like 10k for some reason, so maybe it was one of those? Even still... you're beating the rivals on price, because if you compared loaded versions of the Germans, your head will start to spin with the pricing. -JG
I just think about "Why Cadillac don't offer just ONE model reviving the old Caddilac's style?" I mean, they already proved that they can make the best in performance and quality, so... Why they just don't grace the purists with a beautiful classic long body, smooth suspension, silent working and high tire profiles, with the unmistakable classic (but modern) Cadillac style??? What i saw in this video isn't a Cadillac's philosophy, regardless it's an incredible car.
+Vernon Price for people that don't want something this expensive. Then you're also saying the Chevy SS is pointless. It doesn't make sense to have it in a Cadillac. It's the luxury division.
Dukiny Gaming But it would be this expensive, because you're talking about putting the same LT4 engine, Magneride suspension, Alpha chassis, etc. into it. The Chevy SS is awesome, and it's very clearly a lower powered car for less money. It uses the old LS3, and it's on the old Holden Commodore platform. And of course it makes sense to have it in a cadillac as long as it's a V series Cadillac, which has been making high performance V series cars since 2004. This is the third generation of CTS-V in this video. SO again, doing a modern SS with the same LT4 engine would basically be the same thing as the CTS-V and would cost just about as much, or at least as much as the ATS-V but probably more because it would have an LT4, for that reason.
+mikealanzo Because it has AWD. In testing so far the CTS-V is hitting very low 11s at 126 MPH, which is VASTLY faster than an E63 S AMG. In other words, the CTS-V is ONLY hitting 3.7 seconds because it has TRACTION ISSUES.
It is good to belive yourself! ;-) Actually CTS-V with AWD-option maybe good competition of German rivals like Merc E 63AMG 4 matic or upcoming BMW M5 X drive and Audi S and RS with quattro system! Unfortunately there is no AWD in V-models of Cadillac ... so NO driving in winter or rain? Verdict: CTS-V is a good car for Texas or Dubai. But not for the northern States, Canada, etc.
There are these things called snow tires that are actually more important in snowy conditions than the number of drive wheels. In RWD form the CTS-V completely destroys the E63 S. It's MUCH faster and handles MUCH better.
If you see Cadillac sales in their home US compared to sales of Mercedes and BMW will understand how much you're wrong. On AWD - Cadillac is not a technological level to put this system in V-models ...
Glory Todorov And how do sales numbers have anything do with how well the cars performance again? Can you explain that to me? Even if Cadillac never sold ONE CTS-V it would STILL outperform the E63 by light years. Do you not understand how reality works? And Cadillac has had AWD in their cars for a long time, just not the V series, because they're high performance RWD sedans. Oh wait let me guess, you didn't know that either. Be less stupid, then try again.
OK "specialist", you think: - how less sell cars than the better it is !? - or your mantra is: even no one can buy CT-V, even in his native United States, but it is better than Mercedes or BMW just because you say that !? All competitors of Cadillac - BMW, Mercedes, Audi even Lexus and Infiniti have AWD its most powerful limousine! More over the upcoming models of BMW M will be X-drive (this is AWD if you don't know) as an option! Or BMW M are more stupid than you? Yes, Cadillac mounted AWD in boxes as Escalade or weaker models of CTS or ATS , but understand if you can: the truth is - Cadillac has no technological level to put AWD in V-models! This is a fact! Next time, try being smarter for this discussion! ;-)
Glory Todorov No, I didn't say the less they sell, the better it is. That is not AT ALL what I said. Are you stupid? Here is exactly what I said, AGAIN. Even if Cadillac never sold ONE CTS-V it would STILL outperform the E63 by light years. What part of that sentence do you not understand? "even no one can buy CT-V, even in his native United States, but it is better than Mercedes or BMW just because you say that !? " Again, that is not AT ALL what I said. The CTS-V is better than the BMW and Mercedes because it has been TESTED AGAINST THEM. The CTS-V is lighter, faster, has more power, more torque and handles better. It's also cheaper, is built better, is more reliable and has higher resale value. This is how reality works. The M5 does not have AWD, the E63 did not have AWD until this generation, The Alfa Giulia does not have AWD, the Charger Hellcat does not have AWD, so you're wrong there too. Not only that, AWD is not necessary for a car to be faster. It seems like you don't know very much about cars. And why do you keep associating technological level with anything? Since Cadillac has been putting AWD in their cars for years, it's clearly not a technological issue. Why doesn't the BMW M5 have AWD? Is it because they're all idiots? Why doesn't the M3 and M4 have AWD? Same reason? Why doesn't the C63 S have AWD? Is it because Mercedes is too stupid to figure out how to do it? Why doesn't the Giulia have AWD? Are they too stupid? So try again, and be less stupid next time.
I can help but feel like although this is an exceptional car, they didn’t do enough to separate themselves from its GM counterparts. If I am going to spend 90,000$+ on a sports car, it would be nice if there wasn’t a lot of parts sharing. I went to a Cadillac dealership just for kicks, and when I sat in the interior I didn’t feel as nice I thought it would’ve, I was actually slightly disappointed. My parents have Cadillac DTS and although it doesn’t have the cutting edge technology, it feels distinctly Cadillac, and I can’t think of anything that’s quite like it. If the CTS-V used a little more leather and replaced a lot of plastics with real aluminum and nice metals, I feel like this would be able to compete with the Germans.
I think we should just appreciate great cars and not worry about the origin country of it's brand. It's so annoying seeing people shit on a great car simply because it isn't German, I'd rather them shit on the car because of legitimate reasons. It not being German isn't a legitimate reason, not everyone thinks Germans make the best cars, and there's nothing wrong with that.
beastly engine and a well-sorted chassis....but who on earth wants a gloss black interior front and center??..."hey lets make out top-of-line car look like a cheap computer and a fingerprint magnet!" the devil is in the details, ESPECIALLY in this class of car. you're about 97% there cadillac, keep at it...
All brands like bmw and Audi come out with 575hp from stock and limiters but if you will tune those cars with 620 640hp and delimited they will pass 200+mph ;)
I wish these boneheaded reviewers stop referring the CTS-V a four-door Corvette/Z06. This is a limited production CTS with high performance beefed-up from the bread-n-butter CTS models. A four-door Corvette will look like a Corvette with two extra doors and seats in the back which is not currently available for sale. But other than that, beautiful car!
+johnls39 FYI the CTS-V is NOT limited production. They will make as many of them as they think they can sell. And while it is not literally a 4 door corvette, it's about as close to one as you can realistically get.
+Vernon Price With due respect, you can state your opinion without replying at me. So therefore, I don't respect your opinion. But anyway since you responded directly towards me, Cadillac is not going to make a huge volume of CTS-V a year because if they did, everyone wants them if everyone is a car enthusiast which they are not so therefore, it is a limited super high performance car catered to car enthusiasts. Majority of the public are not car enthusiast. It is still a stupid analogy to call a CTS-V a foor door Corvette. And FYI, the engine is a GM powertrain. not exclusive to Corvette only. The two engines are slightly modified for both cars so technically, they are not the exact same engine spec. Allot of these engines are shared by a few brands and no one says stupid stuff like, this is a door two Merecedes Benz since Aston Martin will share Mercedes Benz V12, as an example. The Corvette and CTS-V are spendid cars but just because they share few to several things does not make them exactly alike each other and they can be viewed without mentioning the other model in a lot of these reviews. If the reviewer says that it shares few things with the ZO6, I have no problem with it. But calling it a four door Corvette is a different story. FYI, all these parts are shared and universally distributed to other manufacturers like Brembo brakes, Magnetic Ride Control Suspension, ZF and Aison transmission by suppliers for example.
johnls39 "Cadillac is not going to make a huge volume of CTS-V a year " Nobody cares. The phrase "limited production" has a specific meaning. A limited production run has a specific end point, i.e. 500 units. The CTS-V is not limited production, which literally means there is no limit on the production. They could only makes 10 of them and it's still not limited production. This is not an opinion, it's a fact. Learn the difference. "It is still a stupid analogy to call a CTS-V a foor door Corvette." According to who? You? Why should anybody give a shit what you think? "And FYI, the engine is a GM powertrain. not exclusive to Corvette only." Nobody said it was. Why are you responding to things that nobody said? "Allot of these engines are shared by a few brands" "Allot" is a word that means something, but it's not what you think it means. www.dictionary.com/browse/allot "verb (used with object), allotted, allotting. 1. to divide or distribute by share or portion; distribute or parcel out; apportion:" "just because they share few to several things does not make them exactly alike" Nobody said they were exactly alike. Again, why are you responding to things that nobody said? The CTS-V shares the Z06's engine, transmission, magnetic shocks, PDR, HUD, and a lot of the same chassis and cooling technology. No it's not exactly like a Z06. Yes, it is just about the closest thing to a 4 door Z06 that we're ever going to see.
Vernon Price performance isnt everything. Lots of people dont care at all and some are loyal to a brand ... and some just want to show of their money, for that the M5 is always better suited. Specially in europe. Personally I would probably choose the M5 from those 2 cars.. But I would have to test drive both to be sure.
T.W. Someone What, in your mind, are you getting that is in any way superior to the CTS-V? And by the way, when you are talking about cars like the M5 and the CTS-V, yes, you are talking SPECIFICALLY about performance. If you don't care about performance, you buy a normal CTS, or a regular 5 series BMW. The ONLY - THE ONLY - reason you buy an M5 is for the performance SPECIFICALLY. And of course I recommend actually driving both before deciding, but be aware that the CTS-V's performance is VASTLY superior to the M5's no matter what your personal biases or experiences tell you. See here: www.caranddriver.com/features/lightning-lap-2015-results-historical-lap-times-and-more-feature Look up the F10 M5 and the 2016 CTS-V. You will see that the CTS-V is running NINE SECONDS PER LAP faster than the M5, which is an insanely large gap in performance. That gap places the CTS-V in an entirely different category of speed compared to the M5. I do not see a single reason to buy an M5 instead of a CTS-V. Not one.
Vernon Price well lets take a german business man... he wants a fast good looking car for the autobahn.. can he get away with buying a cadillac? .. no it doesnt offer the same prestige and business seriousness. even if the cadillac had exactly the same build quality.. people would still buy the M5 because its a BMW and M car!! heritage..
T.W. Someone Why would he not be able to buy a Cadillac? You said "no" but you didn't give me any reasons WHY. Prestige is fictional bullshit that does not exist in the real world, and "business seriousness" is DEFINITELY not a real thing. See, now it looks like you are scraping the bottom of the barrel to come up with really weak excuses, and that is not going to cut it. You need to do a LOT better than that. And the Cadillac has BETTER quality than the 5 series. JD Power ranks Cadillac over BMW every single year. And it doesn't matter what you think people would buy or why. I have asked you MULTIPLE TIMES now to give me ACTUAL REASONS to buy the M5 over the CTS-V. So far you have not even given me ONE. So try again, and next time try a LOT harder. Do not mention the words "prestige" or "heritage" again, since those are not actual real, physical attributes. They are imaginary bullshit.
I love my V. There are few things as fun as seeing the "what just happened" look on the face of $125k+ AMG and M5 owners in my rear view mirror. More importantly ... My money stays here at home instead of going into some German pocket. Go America.
Yea I'm saving for the 2016 V...I intend to buy one in Jan 2019, for around 60-65....I look at the AMGs and BMWs and I look at their maintenance costs and less power and interior luxury. So thats why I settled on it, beating them would give me a even greater feeling of awesomeness lol.
Meh, only shallow people are affected by being beat. I'd be happy that the Caddy owner is enjoying his car and feels like proving something to him/herself, and I'll continue on my way in my piece of trash M5.
This car, having so much torque, will probably bankrupt You more on tyre costs than gas. :)) 630 pound feet of torques is craaazy! If really driven hard, I'd say change tyres every 6-8k miles, lol.
It doesn't spin the wheels unless you want it to. The tires probably last the same amount of time as regular tires do, if you're not constantly trying to do burnouts... lol
The germans get their ass kicked in gas sucking. The CTS-V will drain a tank like a porn star. No german car can compete on that level. Hell, my 2016 M3 averages 18.5 mpg, and I pound the fucking hell out of the gas pedal all day long. And that's heavy city driving, lol. I've gone through a set of rear tires in less than a year, lolololol. I've been pulled over 4 times this year for speeding, got one ticket, and got that reduced to a non-moving violation --> "OffTheRecord dot com" So yeah... i beat that fucking gas pedal like a pimp on a dumb bitch, and no car on the planet could take my ass whooping on the gas pedal and return 18.5 mpg while performing equal or better than the M3. Just ain't gonna happen... ever. In any case, there's no fucking way a Caddycrap could remotely compete with the germans on gas mileage.
Umm, in case you haven't noticed CTS V is pulling 14/21, and I'm willing to bet that if your driving a Cadillac, or BMW MPG's wasn't on the top of your list of requirements. If you want better fuel economy from BMW get a Mini. In any event the CTS-V mopes the floor with Beemers M class, and I know because I had both.
to be fair, the rs7 will smoke this in a straight line (has all wheel drive), and it starts at 108k, you are mentioning a rs7 model that no one actually gets lol
+IShoNoHonor No it won't. The non Performance plus RS7 is just 1/10th faster to 60, and that's with the benefit of its AWD system. So you're paying WAY more for a car that's barely faster off the line... and has a significantly lower top speed. No one has the Performance Plus yet because it just came out... that doesn't mean I can't compare it to the CTS-V. It makes sense to pick the fastest version of a given model in this comparison. - JG
+IShoNoHonor The RS7 is much MUCH slower than the CTS-V. The RS7, at best, does 11.6@123. The CTS-V has been doing 11.2@126, note the trap speed difference. Even that 11.2 ET was only on a 1.8 60' so with a good launch without any wheelspin it will absolutely hit 10s completely stock. And as more people get their CTS-Vs delivered and take them to the track, you're going to start seeing that. The RS7 has less power and much more weight. It's not even really a contest.
I would buy a v6 e class over this cadilac. More Comfort, more than enough power, more safety, better interior, more technology and a design that won't look dated for the next 12 years.
TheDustyRavage Are you saying a V6 E class can't go over 80 MPH? Because it sounds like that's what you're saying. Hey guess what a smart car can go over 80 MPH. Speed limits are obviously not the issue here.
Audi isnt "taking notes" of anything lol, they are shitting all over this thing with the RS6/RS7/S6/S8 etc. its not even a comparison, hp numbers are close and thats literally where it ends.
it couldn't even get 3.0lit BMW m4 gts . let alone other v8 or v12 horny germans . German cars are sth else . German engineers get the same power of big block american v8 engines by tiny high tech engines . German cars are master pieces .
Are they? Then why is the CTS-V so much faster and handles better for less money? The CTS-V is also more fuel efficient, because its engine has direct injection, variable valve timing and cylinder deactivation. German engineers do NOT get the same power, as evidenced by the fact that A) the CTS-V makes more power and B) the CTS-V makes MUCH more torque.
annoying unnecessary handheld shots. a lot of rhetoric and no information about what the car is like to drive or live with... another useless car review from amateur "want-to-be" reviewers.
What you think the new CTS V is: German killer What the CTS V actually is: Entry level of old school luxury with a cross plane crank push rod V8 that can't rev quick or high while Germans like M5 get a sophisticated valvetronic packed with twin scroll turbo that able to minimize turbo lag and resulting max tq 500 lb/ft from 1,500 rpm all the way to 4000. CTS V cranks more power than its German rivals doesn't mean it's quicker, ppl want the burst of acceleration, not an engine that punish the drivetrain. You forgot that the RS7 an E63 are AWD, they don't need that much power to kick your ass from a standstill when they can out-launch you and lead you all the way to 150 mph. Both RS7 and E63 are low 11 second car while CTS V is a high 11 second car. The problem is M5 F10. There is a video of Hennessey 650 horsepower gen II CTS V coupe get its ass kicked by a bone stock M5 F10 from a rolling start this is another reason why more American horsepower doesn't mean you're faster. By the way, 190 mph is the limited speed for RS7 and M5. There are many videos of stock M5 F10 fly passing 200 mph. Anyway, just wait for the new M5 gen G with 600 horsepower, 180 kg weight reduction and X Drive AWD. How can you believe a car that capable of 35 seconds 0-300 will beat by a car that need 40 seconds to reach 300......... Yeah the M5 , RS7 and E63 may cost more but they're all imports from German. Here is a question for you, which trip cost you more? From New York to Los-Angeles or from New York to Germany? Also, its German rivals are way more sophisticated than the CTS V. Take M5 as example, there are 3 modes for steering, transmission and throttle plus DSC and DTC, you can also change the power setting by pushing M1 and M2, combine them, you get over 100 drive modes. Also, the M5 equipped with variable displacement oil pump which increase your smoothness at high speed or improve your MPG at low speed, you also get a rear diff clutch that able to fully lock your LSD when you switch the DSC off meaning your car will handle like it equipped with a 2 way LSD. After reading this, you still think th CTS V worth $91,000?
+NISMO N ATTACK 東瀛戰神 R34 Z TUNE AWD only advantage is excellent torque from standstill and stability control but the downfall is that they add weight to the car and reduce miles per gallon which no one cares about fuel mileage anyway for this class. You are absolutely wrong about CTS-V not being sophisticated. It is the best car in the class right now at a reasonable price. I compared the 0-60 times of the RS7 and CTS-V and the Audi was faster at 3.3 seconds but at 0-100 Cadillac was faster at 7.5 seconds while the Audi was 7.6 seconds. You need to consider the fact that transmission and engineering is a big part of the factor why one car is faster or slower than the other.
+johnls39 AWD add weight however, the traction issue in CTS V is more serious than the weight issue in RS7 and E63 AMG. Both E63 and RS7 can hit 60 in 3.2. By the way, where you get those 0-100 mph time? Also, the real deal for CTS V is BMW M5. M5 can reach 300 kph in about 35 seconds without competition package vs CTS V 40 seconds. CTS V isn't the most sophisticated cars in its class and again price range? I am not from America, I am from HK, CTS V cost more than M5 here and do you think CTS V's engineering will out-talent M5's? Also, yes transmission and engineering are important but engineering of.........chassis programming? Powertrain? Drivetrain? Frame? Let me tell you, every single part of those are better in BMW.
Amazing car. Way to go GM. I'd buy this over any of the German competitors.
All day V power💪💪💪💪
Me too.
I would love to drive this all day for Uber and Lyft! Especially on Friday and Saturday nights.
I just picked up my 2017 CTS V and I love everything about it....best purchase I ever made!
Hellcat... Still partial torwards them, and I completely understand. I would prefer one as well in this arena, but I still have massive respect for Cadillac. The CTS-V is much more balanced, and carries a prestige that Chrysler hasn't matched. Good Job, Cadillac.
+Matt Larson CTS-V - Fantastic car... I'd also totally still get the Charger Hellcat. -JG
+James grant the xf is speed is by far the best non dual clutch transmission and gm's 8 speed is the worst 8 speed made.
+Devin well GM is soon to replace the 8-speed automatic transmission with their new 10-speed that's Co developed by Ford. so it should give the big Cadillac a better hole shot.
A 10 speed transmission on the way.
Absolutely Matt! Go drive it! I did! I'm sold!
Lmao... I have watched close to a hundred CTS-V vids... and I gotta' say this was the best show and format beyond all the others! KUDO'S for keeping this " balls out " and in front!! Thank you, a having been not so entertained this good in a while!!! Seth
Your videos have been getting much better lately, Jeff. Keep up the great work.

Your videos are becoming quite top notch. Nicely done!
As a German fan boy for decades I could get moist for the CTSV.
Nice job on the review, this new current generation of vehicles today highlights a point I made quite a few years ago. I was thinking all black, but the white with the carbon package looks pretty good too.
I hope you were able to get her. I got 2 more years to wait.
@@johnlukach4091 you get it yet?
Love my V2 Ctsv. Great review too bro
love this guy and his presentation
The best car produced to this date. Best car on the market!
This thing is a machine. Supercar fast.
3:51, the BMW M5 is limited to 155, so is the BMW M3/4, M2
Even delimited they're not as fast as the CTS-V.
Until you don't hear BMW, Mercedes and Audi saying "we are as good as Cadillac" - there is nothing to catch for Germany ;)
+Marc Us I believe he's referring to the fact this will easily outrun any new German car of similar cost.
shaft9000 thats right. It´s like a Nissan GTR wins on paper against a lot of cars but you would still prefer to sit in a Lambo or Ferrari
Marc Us
hmmmmm "Caddy GTR" *is* a rather apt description.... to a point. The GTR is pretty much bespoke all around, iirc.
+shaft9000 hes just a butthurt little kid, ignore him.
No, I'd rather shit I a Cadillac. Especially when I think about how German cars come with horrible reliability and, bland styling, and choose to nickle and dime you for things that come standard here. Cadillac give America a lot to be proud of. Fuck Germany, there is no comparison to Cadillac.
car seat FTW!! I have 2 in the offroadaru
My dream car!
great video. thanks for sharing. the CTSV is in the league with the likes of Mercedes Benz ,Audi, and BMW. I'm still trying to see where Chrysler (price wise) fits into that category. it's a big powerful sedan,no doubt but the car is essentially a ,"one trick pony". only good at a straight line.
straight line hahaha. It kills everything on the track
The hellcat charger is a straight line cop car. Nothing fancy about that. The CTSV hs magnetic shocks on all four corners.
dreadheadmarlee25 not against this car
haha I really enjoy your videos guys, honestly, I wanna jump on a plane from the grey miserable UK, land in Cali (i assume that's where you are) hoon some cars about with yas and then go for a beer haha! "I want to feel like Mad Max in a business suit" haha every video has at least one gem of a one liner, keep it dudes!
This guy is really good. Bravo! Good review....subbed
its so much performance and power, but heres an idea? for an average older person who can afford a 90k sedan is it to much power? for a luxury RWD daily derivable sedan thats meant to be used as everything from a DD to a track toy might the sheer power turn some buyers off? the bmw is making close to 100 HP less and over 100 lb tq less which may seem more approachable. i think the sheer power could turn off some buyers who want "smooth power" (or power thats far more manageable) with out the "scare" factor. either way i would rock one still.
(so to clarify i was asking if either 1 they changed that behavior in the LT4 and 2 how it worked for a daily application)
no need to get so angry calm down and enjoy life man.
+justin bouche Until you drive them, you probably shouldn't comment.
I wonder how long it will be until someone comes up with custom skins for these new digital instrument clusters?
haha at long last...enjoying the reviews sir
why is no one watching this guy? I think he's awesome, he should have 100k views not 8
+Chris Pastuf spread the word! thanks man
+The Hooniverse no problem, you're way more animated than these other quacks that review vehicles
Get a room you two.
Bob Boheemoth ok, but I'm not buying
offer an all wheel drive version and it's lights out for the European competition!!
It's already lights out for the competition. AWD wouldn't change anything, the CTS-V is already much faster and handles better.
All wheel drive in this car would add unnecessary weight... it already performs so well that it doesn't need it... just like it doesn't need a DCT. They saved weight and made it a wonderful performance car.... I wonder what they're going to do for the next model year... I don't think it can get any faster safely!
Second favorite car. Only to the Z06.
Great scripting on the intro.
I like his sunglasses - which VLT %? which brand?
+Eat The Rich Ray Bans
I love BMW for life. But damn this car is fucken amazing.
How many times have we heard that the HP wars were over??
I love this except the head light bottom
Enjoy it man I can only dream of owning this beautiful beast.
Damn, i love this car. I love it. You're driving on the same streets as Matt Farah from Smoking Tire.
+John Vu nope this is Ortega. Matt drives the LA canyons
Where the heck is Ortega?
Orange County and Inland Empire border. Near Lake Elsinore
Ok
what 8 speed transmission do you like better? The one in this CTS-V or the one in the hellcat charger?
+Andy C7/SRT The ZF 8spd is so much better. (It's in the Charger/Challenger, Jaguar F-Type, Aston Martin Vanquish and Rapide, etc)
+The Hooniverse I figured. I have the A8 in my C7 but always wondered how much better the ZF8 was. I've heard nothing but good things about it
Saw one of these at a dealer a few days ago, MSRP = $107,000. The ATS-V beside it was $81,000.
-JG
The Hooniverse
Forgot to mention I am in Toronto ;)
+Malicious SRT lol with our exchange, I'm surprised it's not & $150k Cdn.
+AllCoupedUp In Canada, with all the options MRSP 102 980$.
Are you in the USA? Those sound an awful lot like the fully loaded, every option, ones. The base ones in the US are $84,500 CTS-V and $62,000 ATSV
New sub!!
coolant tank overfilled? 2:51
maybe it was hot and it expanded
AC condenser water.
The Audi's, Mercs and BMWs mentioned all have top speeds that are all electronically limited and all could exceed 200mph.
+PKmode but they don't
+PKmode They're all still slower. See 1/4 mile times.
That is one amazingly hot caddy.
CT6
I wish Chevy had their own SS or souped up Impala with this engine in it.
Why? It would just be a duplicate of the CTS-V, and what would be the point of that?
Absolutely great car but the only road to find that out is the german Autobahn ;-) Ok, maybe the Nurburgring or Laguna seca :-))
I love this car!!! I really do!!! But I'd take the MB E63 AMG S 4Matic all day long, 585 hp still 0-60 3.7 sec
It is good to belive yourself! ;-)
Actually CTS-V with AWD-option maybe good competition of German rivals like Merc E 63AMG 4 matic or upcoming BMW M5 X drive and Audi S and RS with quattro system!
OK "specialist", you think:
- how less sell cars than the better it is !?
"
Again, that is not AT ALL what I said.
I forgot about the Germany's
Great review! love the car! But is no one going to address his comment on self driving cars @7:55? Don't say things like that man!
Only thing this car needs, better transmission, either the new 10 speed or a 6 speed manual.
I think we should just appreciate great cars and not worry about the origin country of it's brand. It's so annoying seeing people shit on a great car simply because it isn't German, I'd rather them shit on the car because of legitimate reasons. It not being German isn't a legitimate reason, not everyone thinks Germans make the best cars, and there's nothing wrong with that.
beastly engine and a well-sorted chassis....but who on earth wants a gloss black interior front and center??..."hey lets make out top-of-line car look like a cheap computer and a fingerprint magnet!"
the devil is in the details, ESPECIALLY in this class of car.
you're about 97% there cadillac, keep at it...
All brands like bmw and Audi come out with 575hp from stock and limiters but if you will tune those cars with 620 640hp and delimited they will pass 200+mph ;)
The 2016 Cadillac CTSV comes all stock with 640HP 6.2L V8 from the factory. Its completely stock.
lots of ppl commenting on how much better a merc c class looks are they fucking blind? c class looks generic as fuck esp for the price.
Wish this car was in John Wick
FYI, all these parts are shared and universally distributed to other manufacturers like Brembo brakes, Magnetic Ride Control Suspension, ZF and Aison transmission by suppliers for example.
johnls39 "Cadillac is not going to make a huge volume of CTS-V a year "
Nobody cares.
"It is still a stupid analogy to call a CTS-V a foor door Corvette."
According to who? You? Why should anybody give a shit what you think?
"And FYI, the engine is a GM powertrain. not exclusive to Corvette only."
Nobody said it was. Why are you responding to things that nobody said?
"Allot of these engines are shared by a few brands"
"Allot" is a word that means something, but it's not what you think it means.
www.dictionary.com/browse/allot
"verb (used with object), allotted, allotting.
1. to divide or distribute by share or portion; distribute or parcel out; apportion:"
"just because they share few to several things does not make them exactly alike"
Nobody said they were exactly alike.
I have one the greatest ever
In Germany it starts at 100k € which is same as the M5.. so theres no price advantage
But there is a MASSIVE performance advantage. There is still no reason to buy the M5.
See here:
www.caranddriver.com/features/lightning-lap-2015-results-historical-lap-times-and-more-feature
Look up the F10 M5 and the 2016 CTS-V.
WHAT A POMPUS IMP?
This car, having so much torque, will probably bankrupt You more on tyre costs than gas. :)) 630 pound feet of torques is craaazy! If really driven hard, I'd say change tyres every 6-8k miles, lol.
It doesn't spin the wheels unless you want it to. The tires probably last the same amount of time as regular tires do, if you're not constantly trying to do burnouts... lol
this video is a bit better, more of the car less of the person! clicked on it for the car
LOL, Germany better develop an M8......
I've been pulled over 4 times this year for speeding, got one ticket, and got that reduced to a non-moving violation --> "OffTheRecord dot com"
So yeah... i beat that fucking gas pedal like a pimp on a dumb bitch, and no car on the planet could take my ass whooping on the gas pedal and return 18.5 mpg while performing equal or better than the M3.
Catch me if you can germany? It allready catched you when this car wasn't even build.
However great car.
to be fair, the rs7 will smoke this in a straight line (has all wheel drive), and it starts at 108k, you are mentioning a rs7 model that no one actually gets lol
More Comfort, more than enough power, more safety, better interior, more technology and a design that won't look dated for the next 12 years.
lol all the Mercedes look outdated already
+TheDustyRavage "more than enough power". There's the door, get the fuck out and take your slow as shit V6 E class with you.
Vernon Price ...says someone who lives in a country where you are allowed to drive 80mph :D
TheDustyRavage Are you saying a V6 E class can't go over 80 MPH? Because it sounds like that's what you're saying. Hey guess what a smart car can go over 80 MPH. Speed limits are obviously not the issue here.
No. Just no. Your statement makes no sense whatsoever.
Too bad it still isn't awd.
There's no real insights with this video b
Too bad he didn't throw up on Matt Farah somehow
+Tim Doherty Not a fan of Farah?
Audi isnt "taking notes" of anything lol, they are shitting all over this thing with the RS6/RS7/S6/S8 etc. its not even a comparison, hp numbers are close and thats literally where it ends.
+Jordan Erickson have you driven any of the cars you just mentioned? I'm curious...
+Jordan Ericsson LOL. Yeah I'd love to see evidence of that. The CTS-V is hitting very low 11s @ 126, nothing Audi makes is that fast.
+Vernon Price It's called denial,lol
HAHAHA, The CTSV beats all of those cars in every performance metric there is it even defeated the R8 V10 Plus on the VIR.
Sigh. One can only dream of driving cars like this. You could also probably sell drugs, but it's too risky.
Speak more naturally buddy. Your captain Kirk gets annoying fast.
it couldn't even get 3.0lit BMW m4 gts . let alone other v8 or v12 horny germans .
German cars are masterpieces of planned obsolescence. They intentionally build their cars to break. The guy above is correct ^
true, at least in my case.
If he puked I would have too.
annoying unnecessary handheld shots. a lot of rhetoric and no information about what the car is like to drive or live with... another useless car review from amateur "want-to-be" reviewers.
but what a shitty transmission
What you think the new CTS V is: German killer
What the CTS V actually is: Entry level of old school luxury with a cross plane crank push rod V8 that can't rev quick or high while Germans like M5 get a sophisticated valvetronic packed with twin scroll turbo that able to minimize turbo lag and resulting max tq 500 lb/ft from 1,500 rpm all the way to 4000.
Yes.
I've ran an older v10 m5, new e63 and old cls63 ... I put buses on all of them. You can quote this and that but the V in my garage runs low 10's.
+DizzKid yeah right...........
The M5 will do 205mph with the limiter removed.
+6SpeedTA95 And it's still slower in the 1/4 mile and handles worse than the CTS-V. Not to mention it's heavier.
+Vernon Price indeed it is
When will you ever go 205 though.... or even 200? The acceleration is what I love
I love this except the head light bottom
