She was actually about 63 or 64 when she did this concert ion Sydney. I saw the same concert (less the orchestra) in 2012 in Minneapolis. I'm glad I saw her in concert at some point before she died. Wonderful experience. She and I were exactly the same age (born 1948).

I am sorry you did not get to experience Olivia live. I was seven or eight living in Austria as an American dependent. My grandparents flew over, and we did a mini-tour driving through parts of Europe in a VW bus. It was 1971-72. We stopped at a light at night in Portugal, and I spotted a small club that was going to have her in concert the following night. I had no vote to ask my parents if we could spend the night and try and get tickets. It haunted me for years. I have gone to hundreds of shows around the country, but Olivia never performed anywhere near me. Decades later, I took my wife and daughter to see and hear her. I sent a dozen red roses backstage and a note of my appreciation. It was one of the best nights/days of my life.

I just stumbled across the song again which was in me playlist on my phone. I was walking home along the beach here on Nevis at sunset and I just kept playing it over and over again. Why? Because my life has been one struggle to the next for most of my life. Things are now turning around in life and business. I don’t think I have ever cried as much as I did today, and even as I write this. Why? Because the lyrics are as if the universe is singing these words to me. Offering me guidance. The universe has always been there in my mind, but I have not always listened. And yes, I do now believe we are magic and nothing but me can stand in the way. This song is my message of reassurance.
