Thanks for your video @brookhill Angus! Very interesting explanations especially put in perspective with the weather conditions. Keep up the amazing work!
Good job even if they do leave a little hay on ground it's helping feed the soil I believe that is best way to feed as well and it helps your cattle to stay clean I like all your videos keep them coming anything to do with cattle or haying is my favorite
Thank you. I will post a video about that subject soon. I wean them later than the average. They stay on their mommas for about 220-235 days on our operation. Our cows are big and they don't lose condition, so it's not a problem.
I have a 3 point hydraulic bale spinner. Much more handy than the hustler imo. When the ground is wet I found it's best to spin into piles vs. Stringing it out, cows will stand around the pile vs. Walking down the string and trampling it into the wet ground.
Really good video! I have a couple of questions. How many rolls do you feed, and how often? You have a roll on the loader, is that how you load the Hustler?
I can feed only one at a time, but I carry one on the front spear, one loaded, and one on the back of the Hustler in transport mode. I will be getting a double spear on the front soon, so I can carry 4 in total. I have fed out over 500 rolls so far through the Hustler and it's flawless. I feed about 1000 rolls a year. I will make a video soon to show how you load the Hustler. Thanks for the compliment on the video.
This was during a year when we had over 60" inches of rain. This field recovered exceptionally well with seeds from the hay, and manure from the cattle. It was lush by late spring.
Great video with some really interesting takeaways, my personal favourite was "blankets make you feel good" - that's the truth!
Thank you!

This is James Brookhill Angus he is feeding his Cattle with his john deere 6r series
Great video, would love to see a video on your weaning process, I'm fairly new to having cattle and wanting to learn

Quick question... what is the collars used for on the mama cows? Identification?
No, they are for health monitoring, and heat detection. They are MooMonitors by DairyMaster. I will make a video soon and explain how they work.
But Greg Judy's Fields don't look so sopping wet.
