I haven’t been there in a good 25 years. The condition of appleridge is, well, I don’t even know what to say. People that weren’t from there will never understand. As fast as I ran from there, I can’t imagine growing up anywhere else! The best friends, the best women, the best parties! I try to explain it to my three sons, but you just can’t put it into words. From Greenlight to Junior, I miss my crew!
When you asked if that was Woody Dr, to the South is Woody and to the north is Old Mcdowell, or it was in the 80's and 90's. My mama told me once that the part of McDowell past Woody was added in the 60's so it became Old Mcdowell. I do remember when they connected McDowell with Hwy 18. They were anticipating growth in South Jackson but it all fell apart after that.

I was asking he why that two lane connecting Mcdowell with the hospital was named Old McDowell (we went up there often to the YMCA) and that's what she told me. This was in the 80's so maybe the street signs today don't have the "Old" on them now but from what I understand McDowell used to curve to the north and connected to Raymond Rd before it was extended to the west as the upper part of Woodville Heights was developed. I was always interested in my city as a boy and had a fixation on maps so I guess that's why I remember this.
We lived in Woodville Heights. Our part near Cooper Rd was already run down in the 80's but still completely safe. Up near McDowell was still really nice with bigger and newer houses. It was a good neighborhood regardless what end you lived on. We never had any crime on our street.
If you could man can you please ride down my favorite parts of my hometown jackson Ms where I used to live at like round clinton blvd but round john hopkins rd and magnolia rd, and round mcdowell but turn on Dianne dr LoL, ride round north jackson way also

I did record in 4k with dashcam but accidently deleted the damn thing the next morning so i just uploaded this version

I used to drive my Z28 and Corvette down McDowell Road we all hung out at Woods stereo and Apple ridge and also The TG&Y parking lot and Pizza Hut
Haven’t been there in almost 30 years. It looks WAY more run down than it did in the mid-90’s. Lots of good memories though.
